Abstract

Buncis merupakan salah satu jenis kacang-kacangan yang cukup populer dikalangan masyarakat karena memiliki kandungan gizi yang tinggi dan memiliki potensi nilai ekonomi-sosial yang baik serta berdaya guna untuk mempertahankan kesuburan tanah. Rhizoctonia solanii merupakan salah satu mikoriza yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk membantu meningkatkan proses penyerapan air tanah pada saat tanaman sedang mengalami cekaman kekeringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek pemberian Rhizoctonia solanii pada kandungan karbohidrat planlet buncis (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) dalam kondisi cekaman kekeringan secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial dengan 2 faktor, yaitu inokulasi Rhizoctonia dengan 2 taraf [V0 (tidak diinokulasi Rhizoctonia) dan V1 (diinokulasikan Rhizoctonia)] dan konsentrasi Poly Ethylene Glycol (PEG 6000) dengan 3 taraf [P0 (0 %), P1 (15 %) dan P2 (30 %)]. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan ANOVA dan uji lanjut dengan Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) pada taraf nyata 5 %. Masing-masing konsentrasi dilakukan 4 kali ulangan dan setiap ulangan terdiri dari 3 biji buncis dalam setiap botol kultur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inokulasi mikoriza Rhizoctonia solanii belum memberikan pengaruh terhadap kandungan karbohidrat terlarut total planlet buncis dalam kondisi cekaman kekeringan secara in vitro.doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/aec.v4.i1.2019.p73-80

Abstract

Kendala yang dihadapi dalam memproduksi kacang panjang antara lain musim kemarau yang berkepanjangan. Mikoriza Rhizoctonia solanii dapat membantu menyerap unsur hara dan air bagi tumbuhan. Poly Ethylene Glykol (PEG 6000) diberikan pada medium kultur jaringan untuk mensimulasi cekaman kekeringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek inokulasi Rhizoctonia solanii terhadap kandungan karbohidrat terlarut total planlet kacang panjang yang diberi PEG 6000 secara in vitro. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan pola dasar Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial (RALF) yang terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu faktor V; tanpa inokulasi Rhizoctonia solanii/Kontrol (V0), dan Inokukasi (V1), faktor P; PEG 0 % Kontrol (P1), 15 % (P2), 30 % (P3). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan 4 pengulangan. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu kandungan karbohidrat terlarut total. Data yang diperoleh di homogenkan menggunakan uji Levene, kemudian dilanjutkan uji ANOVA pada taraf nyata 5%, jika signifikan maka dilakukan uji Lanjut pada BNJ taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inokulasi mikoriza Rhizoctonia solanii tidak berpengaruh nyata pada kandungan karbohidrat terlarut total, sedangkan PEG 6000 tidak berpengaruh nyata pada kandungan karbohidrat terlarut total. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa inokulasi pada akar mikoriza Rhizoctonia solanii tidak memberikan pengaruh pada kandungan karbohidrat terlarut total planlet kacang panjang terhadap cekaman kekeringan.doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/aec.v4.i1.2019.p81-90

Abstract

Jeruk siam pontianak (Citrus nobilis Lour. var. microcarpa Hassk.) salah satu komoditas buah-buahan penting di Indonesia. Jeruk yang mempunyai nilai ekonomis yang cukup tinggi baik dalam bentuk segar maupun olahan serta sebagai sumber vitamin dan mineral. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi larutan atonik yang optimum; konsentrasi Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) yang toleran terhadap cekaman kekeringan untuk seleksi planlet jeruk siam secara in vitro; mengetahui interaksi antara larutan atonik dengan PEG 6000 untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis karakter ekspresi spesifik pada planlet jeruk siam yang toleran terhadap cekaman kekeringan meliputi kandungan karbohdrat terlarut total. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam percobaan faktorial 3 x 3. Faktor A adalah larutan atonik dengan 3 taraf konsentrasi : 0 mL/L, 1 mL/L, dan 2 mL/L. Faktor B adalah PEG 6000 dengan 3 taraf konsentrasi: 0% b/v, 3 % b/v, dan 5 % b/v. Uji Levene, analisis ragam pada taraf nyata 5%. Analisis ragam dilakukan pada taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa larutan atonik dan tingginya tingkat kekeringan berpengaruh nyata menurunkan kandungan karbohidrat terlarut total. Abstract

Jeruk keprok batu 55 merupakan salah satu tanaman yang dibudidayakan di Indonesia umumnya didaerah Jawa Timur yang berada pada ketinggian 700 - 1200 m dpl. Salah satu masalah utama budidaya jeruk di Indonesia adalah terdapat beberapa daerah di Indonesia yang kondisi tanahnya kering. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui larutan atonik yang optimum dan konsentrasi PEG yang toleran untuk pertumbuhan planlet jeruk keprok batu 55 (Citrus reticulata Blanco var. crenatifolia) terhadap cekaman kekeringan menggunakan (PEG) 6000, serta mengetahui karakter spesifik pada planlet jeruk keprok batu 55 meliputi kandungan prolin. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan November-Desember 2017 di Laboratorium Botani Ruang Kultur Jaringan Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Lampung menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial, yang terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu faktor A larutan atonik (0 mL/L, 2 mL/L, 3 mL/L), faktor B konsentrasi PEG ( 0%, 2%, 4% ), sehingga didapatkan 9 kombinasi perlakuan yang masing-masing perlakuan di ulang sebanyak 3 kali. Homogenitas ragam menggunakan uji Levene dilanjutkan dengan analisis ragam taraf nyata 5% dan uji lanjut dengan BNT taraf nyata 5%. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi larutan atonik yang optimum adalah 3 mL/L, sedangkan konsentrasi PEG 6000 yang toleran terhadap seleksi planlet jeruk keprok batu 55 adalah 4%. Abstract

Medicinal plants are plants that are used to treat a disease. Along with the progress of the era, the use of medicinal plants began to shift by using chemical-based drugs.  Although some use traditional medicine, there are some traditional medicines that have additional medicinal chemicals. This can cause health problems if used for a long period of time. Based on observations in Banjar Agung Udik Village, many people recognize medicinal plants around the house. But to use and process them into medicinal plants, many people do not use them again to overcome a disease. Therefore, knowledge about the introduction and processing of medicinal plants that are good and correct. The hope of this Community Service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in using medicinal plants and processing them properly in overcoming an illness. Increased understanding occurred in this activity, namely with the results of the pre-test average of 86.67 and the post-test average of 98.75. So that there was an increase of 12.08 points.

Abstract

Fruits and vegetables are horticultural products. This product is easily damaged, so it needs good handling and sufficient attention. So that damage arising from poor handling can be reduced and avoided. Fast handling, sometimes by using materials that are not safe for humans, such as wax. Problems in handling fruits and vegetables occur not only in villages but also in urban areas. So it is necessary to understand and practice for women members of KWT Anggrek  in Merbau Mataram District, South Lampung Regency about the use of natural Edible Coatings that are safe for health. The use of Edible Coating is not just giving a thin layer on fruits and vegetables, but it is necessary to find the use of Edible Coating that does not make problems when eaten and of course is environmentally friendly, such as aloe vera, cassava, taro and sweet potato. The pre-test results of the Community Service Participants were 83.2. The post-test results showed an increase with a score of 96.8. This result proves that there is an increase in the understanding and skills of Community Service participants. The existence of this service is expected that KWT Anggrek  members can handle fruits and vegetables that are easily damaged and rotten so that they can last longer, namely by using Edible Coating Natural  that are easily obtained in the surrounding environment and are environmentally friendly.

Abstract

Srimenganten Village, located in Pulau Panggung Sub-district, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province, is an agrarian area with vanilla as one of its main commodities. However, vanilla productivity in this village has declined due to the outbreak of Vanilla Stem Rot Disease (BBV), caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. vanillae. To address this issue, a community service program was conducted through training on BBV disease management for vanilla farmers in Srimenganten Village. The training covered topics such as disease symptom identification, prevention methods, and environmentally friendly control techniques. The effectiveness of the training was evaluated by comparing participants' pre-test and post-test results. The evaluation showed an average increase in participants' knowledge scores by 33.3 points, with a percentage increase of 61.3%. This indicates that the training effectively enhanced farmers' understanding of BBV disease management. It is expected that this increased knowledge will be applied in vanilla cultivation practices, thereby improving productivity and the quality of harvests.

Abstract

One type of household waste that is commonly discarded and rarely reused is banana peel waste. If left unmanaged, it can cause environmental problems in both rural and urban areas. An alternative solution is to utilize banana peel waste, such as Ambon banana peels, as a source of local microorganisms for producing liquid organic fertilizer (POC). POC is relatively easy to produce and environmentally friendly. This community service program aimed to empower residents of Dasawisma Dahlia RT 004, Labuhan Ratu, Bandar Lampung, through training on the production of liquid fertilizer concentrate (LFC) from Ambon banana peels. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge and skills, as reflected in the average pre-test score of 60.51, which increased to 86.67 after the post-test. This represents an improvement of 26.15 points, or a 43.22% increase. The sustainability of this initiative lies in the potential for large-scale POC production, which can be further utilized for environmental and economic benefits.

Abstract

Leftover rice is one type of organic waste that can be recycled. However, people generally throw leftover rice into the trash. If this waste is left unattended, it will cause an unpleasant odor and can pollute the environment. One solution to overcome this problem is to create liquid local microorganisms that can be used as liquid organic fertilizer (POC). This organic fertilizer can enhance plant growth. Therefore, it needs to be developed as an environmentally friendly organic fertilizer. An activity that can be carried out is to conduct training on making POC from leftover rice for women in Dusun IVB Karang Sari, Jatimulyo District, South Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. This community service activity aims to increase knowledge and skills in making Liquid Organic Fertilizer from leftover rice. The results of this community service activity show an increase in knowledge and skills, as seen from the pre-test results of 70.81 and the post-test results of 91.35. There was an increase of 20.54 points. The sustainability of this activity is the wpmen in Dusun IV B Karang Sari can make Liquid Organic Fertilizer from leftover rice and use it for their plants.

Abstract

Communities have long recognized the sugar palm (Arenga pinnata Merr.) as a plant that produces various economically valuable products, particularly for the craft and food industries; however, its development and cultivation have received relatively little attention. In Sidokaton Village, Gisting District, Tanggamus Regency, the sugar palm is one of the leading local commodities widely cultivated by farmers. Most farmers process sugar palm into palm sugar and kolang-kaling, while the sap is commonly used only as a fresh beverage with a low selling price that fluctuates significantly during the harvest season. This condition highlights the need for innovations in utilizing sugar palm sap to increase its added value for farmers. This community service activity introduces an innovation in processing sugar palm sap into Nata de Legen as an alternative to nata de coco. This innovation aims to enhance the community’s knowledge and skills regarding product diversification of sugar palm and to encourage increased income through higher-value processed products. There was an increase in public knowledge about processing and utilizing palm sap to produce the economically valuable nata de legen. The average increase in knowledge among training participants was 17.33 points. The training activities are expected to serve as an initial step in the development of sustainable local resource–based enterprises in Sidokaton Village.
