Abstract

Beauty is something that every woman desires. However, many women have problems with their facial skin. One of the causes of skin problems is free radicals. By utilizing plants as the basic ingredients of cosmetic care, namely wheatgrass which is formulated in the form of a clay mask stick preparation that can be effective as an antioxidant. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of wheatgrass extract on the physical evaluation of the preparation and to determine the antioxidant activity of the wheatgrass extract clay mask stick preparation. This study is a study with a true experimental posttest-only control design. Formulating wheatgrass extract with different extract concentrations, namely 6%, 8% and 10%, into a clay mask stick preparation. The evaluations carried out were organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, drying time, irritation and antioxidant activity tests. The results of the study obtained 3 formulations that had good homogeneity, with a safe pH range, spreadability and drying time met the requirements and the preparation did not irritate the skin. Antioxidant activity testing obtained the results of clay mask sticks having antioxidant activity. Formulation 1 has an IC50 value of 29.69 µg/mL, formulation 2 has an IC50 value of 15.28 µg/mL and formulation 3 has an IC50 value of 6.02 µg/mL.

Abstract

The strategic integration of digital technologies into English for Specific Purposes (ESP) instruction has emerged as a critical dimension of pedagogical competence, particularly in vocational education settings where contextualized language learning is essential. This study investigates the digital pedagogical practices of an ESP teacher at a state vocational high school in Indonesia, framed by the National Teacher Competency Standards (Permendiknas No. 16/2007), specifically Standard 5, which emphasizes the effective utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were gathered through systematic classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the teacher demonstrated consistent and deliberate integration of digital technologies across all phases of instruction—including lesson planning, delivery, and assessment—using a range of tools such as mobile learning applications, interactive multimedia, and online evaluation platforms. The teacher’s approach was marked by a strong alignment between digital strategies and students' vocational profiles, resulting in increased learner engagement and contextual relevance. This study contributes to the growing discourse on digital pedagogy in ESP by providing empirical insights into how individual teacher can leverage technology not merely as an instructional aid, but as a transformative tool to support vocationally aligned, learner-centered education. It concludes by emphasizing the importance of targeted professional development in digital pedagogy that bridges technical skill and pedagogical depth, particularly for ESP practitioners in vocational education contexts

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of metacognitive strategy instruction on the development of reading skills among undergraduate students at an Islamic higher education. The research focuses on how these strategies influence students’ knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors in reading academic texts. A qualitative descriptive design with a phenomenological approach was employed to explore students lived experiences. Eighteen fourth semester students who had completed a reading course incorporating metacognitive strategies were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns and themes. The findings reveal that metacognitive instruction significantly improved students’ understanding of reading as an active and strategic process. Students demonstrated enhanced skills in monitoring comprehension, questioning, and drawing conclusions. In addition, they reported increased motivation, confidence, and classroom participation. The study concludes that integrating metacognitive strategies into reading instruction fosters self-regulated, reflective, and engaged learners. These results suggest that metacognitive instruction is effective in strengthening both cognitive and affective aspects of reading development in Islamic higher education contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the steps of teachers' role in providing motivation and the strategies implemented to improve students' readiness for the Academic Competency Test (TKA) at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 1 Klaten. The research subjects were teachers at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 1 Klaten. The informants for this study were teachers. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that teachers play a crucial role in mapping students' learning readiness and motivational profiles by identifying initial academic abilities, self-confidence levels, and psychological barriers. In addition, teachers establish warm and empathetic communication to create a safe learning environment so that students are more motivated and do not experience excessive anxiety. The learning strategies provided include step-by-step practice questions, problem-solving discussions, and reasoning-based learning that is appropriate to the characteristics of TKA. These activities have been proven to increase students' interest and academic readiness in facing high-standard questions. Teachers also apply motivational strategies such as positive reinforcement, simple rewards, and verbal appreciation to build students' confidence. Contextual learning based on real situations also increases intrinsic motivation and student engagement. Regular reflection and feedback are provided to monitor progress, identify weaknesses, and strengthen learning enthusiasm throughout the TKA preparation process. Overall, the combination of teacher roles and strategies contributes significantly to improving students' mental and academic readiness to face TKA.

Abstract

Abstrak. Diabetes melitus merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular yang prevalensinya terus meningkat di Indonesia, khususnya di wilayah pedesaan. Kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai pencegahan dan pengelolaan diabetes menjadi salah satu faktor risiko utama. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader kesehatan Desa Pemangkih Baru terkait diabetes melitus melalui edukasi dan pelatihan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan interaktif dan diskusi kelompok kecil yang melibatkan 13 kader kesehatan desa. Materi mencakup pengenalan gejala, faktor risiko, pencegahan, serta penatalaksanaan sederhana diabetes melitus. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan kader. Mayoritas hasil evaluasi peserta berada pada kondisi tetap dan meningkat. Selain itu, kader lebih percaya diri dalam menyampaikan informasi kepada masyarakat dan menjadi mitra aktif dalam upaya promotif dan preventif. Kesimpulannya, pelatihan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader kesehatan desa, sehingga diharapkan dapat membantu menurunkan angka kasus diabetes melalui peran aktif kader di tingkat komunitas. Abstract. Diabetes mellitus is one of the non-communicable diseases whose prevalence continues to rise in Indonesia, especially in rural areas. Lack of public knowledge about diabetes prevention and management is a major risk factor. This community service aims to improve the health cadres' knowledge of diabetes mellitus in Pemangkih Baru Village through education and training. The methods used were interactive counseling and small group discussions involving 13 village health cadres. The materials covered the introduction of symptoms, risk factors, prevention, and simple management of diabetes mellitus. Evaluation was conducted using pre-tests and post-tests to measure the improvement in the cadres' knowledge. Most participants showed knowledge that either remained the same or increased. In addition, the cadres became more confident in delivering information to the community and became active partners in promotive and preventive efforts. In conclusion, this training was effective in enhancing the knowledge and skills of village health cadres, and it is expected to help reduce the incidence of diabetes by increasing cadres' active role at the community level.

Abstract

Batuk pilek adalah infeksi virus yang menyerang saluran pernafasan bagian atas disertai dengan timbulnya gejala hidung tersumbat, keluarnya ingus, batuk sering disertai dengan demam dan sakit kepala. Pengobatan untuk batuk pilek hanya terbatas pada penanganan gejalanya saja tanpa membunuh virus penyebabnya. Kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang penanganan penyakit batuk pilek sering terjadi, seperti menggunakan obat dengan indikasi dan gejala yang tidak tepat, sehingga kader kesehatan diperlukan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan tentang penyakit batuk pilek. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader kesehatan di Desa Sungai Rangas Ulu tentang penyakit batuk pilek. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah dalam bentuk penyuluhan serta diskusi dengan para kader kesehatan. Media yang digunakan berupa leaflet dan power point yang berisikan tentang penyakit batuk pilek. Evaluasi untuk menilai pengetahuan kader melalui kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan di Desa Sungai Rangas Ulu, dapat dilihat bahwa pengetahuan kader kesehatan mengalami peningkatan sebesar 67%, konsisten sebesar 11%, dan mengalami penurunan sebesar 22%. Faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya penurunan pengetahuan antara lain bisa terjadi karena kurangnya perhatian dari kader kesehatan pada saat pemberian materi atau dikarenakan metode penyampaian tim yang tidak efektif. Kesimpulan dari hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan dan pemahaman kader kesehatan di Desa Sungai Rangas Ulu mengenai batuk pilek dengan cara pemberian materi dan diskusi berupa tanya jawab secara langsung.

Abstract

Penyimpanan dan pembuangan produk farmasi yang tidak tepat dapat menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan serta berisiko terhadap kesehatan masyarakat. Limbah obat rumah tangga yang dibuang sembarangan berpotensi mencemari air, tanah, dan ekosistem, serta dapat menyebabkan resistensi obat dan gangguan kesehatan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perilaku pembuangan limbah obat yang benar, yang dipengaruhi oleh tingkat pengetahuan dan pendidikan masyarakat. Pendidikan merupakan faktor penting dalam membentuk sikap dan perilaku individu melalui proses pembelajaran. Tingkat pendidikan diyakini dapat memengaruhi pola pikir dan tindakan dalam menghadapi permasalahan, termasuk pengelolaan limbah obat rumah tangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pengetahuan dan tingkat pendidikan terhadap tindakan pembuangan limbah obat rumah tangga di Kelurahan Loktabat Utara. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain observasional analitik dan pendekatan cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 100 orang. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden berpendidikan SMA sebesar 55%. Sebagian besar masyarakat memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang kurang baik terkait tindakan pembuangan limbah obat rumah tangga. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara pengetahuan dengan tindakan pembuangan limbah obat rumah tangga dengan nilai p sebesar 0,009 (p < 0,05). Sementara itu, tingkat pendidikan tidak memiliki hubungan signifikan terhadap tindakan pembuangan limbah obat rumah tangga dengan nilai p sebesar 0,780 (p > 0,05). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan berperan penting dalam membentuk perilaku pembuangan limbah obat rumah tangga, sedangkan tingkat pendidikan formal tidak berpengaruh langsung.

Abstract

Transisi pelayanan kesehatan merupakan salah satu faktor risiko terjadinya ketidaksesuaian dalam pengobatan (medication discrepancies) yang menjadi tantangan bagi keselamatan pasien. Ketidaksesuaian pengobatan dapat terjadi akibat adanya perubahan regimen pengobatan pasien tanpa koordinasi secara lengkap di antara tenaga kesehatan yang menangani pasien yang menyebabkan informasi yang terputus. Penelitian deskriptif dengan metode observasional ini melibatkan 30 orang pasien hipertensi untuk menganalisis jenis dan penyebab ketidaksesuaian pengobatan pada pasien tersebut di Puskesmas Kelayan Timur Banjarmasin sebagai salah satu fasilitas kesehatan tingkat pertama yang memberikan pelayanan kesehatan kepada pasien. Data mengenai jenis dan penyebab ketidaksesuaian pengobatan dianalisis berdasarkan data rekam medik pasien dan observasi langsung kepada pasien di rumah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh data jenis ketidaksesuaian pengobatan yang paling banyak terjadi adalah kelalaian yaitu sebesar 42,85%, diikuti dengan penambahan sebesar 21,43%, ketidaksesuaian dosis sebesar 12,5%, penggantian terapi dan ketidaksesuaian frekuensi pemberian masing-masing sebesar 8,93%, ketidaksesuaian waktu pemberian sebesar 3,57%, serta ketidaksesuaian bentuk sediaan sebesar 1,79%. Ketidaksesuaian pengobatan dapat disebabkan oleh banyak faktor, yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu penyebab di level pasien dan di level sistem. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ketidaksesuaian pengobatan paling banyak disebabkan di level pasien, yaitu ketidakpatuhan yang disengaja sebesar 32,14%, diikuti oleh pengobatan sendiri sebesar 25%, tidak memiliki waktu untuk menebus resep sebesar 17,85%, reaksi obat yang tidak dikehendaki dan ketidakpatuhan yang tidak disengaja sebesar 1,79%. Pada level sistem, ketidaksesuaian pengobatan paling banyak terjadi akibat adanya informasi yang saling bertentangan dari berbagai sumber informasi yang ada yaitu sebesar 8,92%, diikuti dengan masalah ketersediaan obat/dosis obat sebesar 7,14%, instruksi kepada pasien pada saat transisi pelayanan tidak lengkap/tidak akurat/tidak terbaca sebesar 3,58% dan instruksi di antara penulis resep pada saat transisi pelayanan tidak lengkap/tidak akurat/tidak terbaca sebesar 1,79%. Kata kunci: hipertensi, jaminan kesehatan nasional, ketidaksesuaian pengobatan Healthcare transition is one of the risk factor of medication discrepancies that become a challenge for patient safety. Medication discrepancies can happen because the changes of drug regimen of the patient without a complete coordination between healthcare professionals that cause misinformation. This descriptive research with observational method involved 30 national health coverage or Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional patient with hypertension to analyze the type and the cause of medication discrepancies in Puskesmas Kelayan Timur as a first line healthcare facilities that give a health service for patient. The type and the cause of medication discrepancies will be analyzed by the patient medical report in Puskesmas and direct observation to the patient in their house. Based on the research, the most widely of the type of medication discrepancies is omission (42,85%), followed by addition (21,43%), dosage (12,5%), therapeutic substitution and frequency of administration each 8,93%, time of administration (3,57%) and drug form (1,79%). Medication discrepancies can happen by many causes, that divided into two group, the causes in the patient level and system level. Based on the research, the most widely of the cause of medication discrepancies in patient level is intentional non-adherence (32,14%), followed by self medication (25%), didn’t have time to fill the prescription (17,58%), adverse drug event and unintentional non-adherence each 1,79%. In the system level, the most widely of the cause of medication discrepancies is conflicting information from different informational sources (8,92%), followed by drug or drug dose availability (1,79%), instructions to pastient at transfer incomplete/inaccurate/illegible (3,58%) and instructions between prescribers at transfer incomplete/inaccurate/illegible (1,79%).
