Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of the CIPRO Model in learning to write speech texts among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 28 Muaro Jambi. The research focused on understanding how the model supports students’ writing skills, critical thinking, and participation in the learning process. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a field study design to explore the learning process in its natural context. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving one Indonesian language teacher and six representative students selected purposively based on different academic ability levels. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which included data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing through triangulation and member checking techniques. The findings revealed that the implementation of the CIPRO Model encouraged students to participate more actively in learning activities, improved their ability to organize ideas systematically, and strengthened their argumentative writing skills. The stages of identifying problems, gathering information, formulating arguments, collaboration, and presenting results enabled students to develop more structured and persuasive speech texts. In addition, collaborative discussions and reflective learning activities increased students’ confidence and critical thinking abilities during the writing process. However, the study also identified several challenges, particularly limited instructional time and differences in students’ academic abilities during the implementation process. This study contributes to the development of process-based and participatory learning models in Indonesian language education, particularly in speech-text writing instruction at the junior high school level. The findings imply that the CIPRO Model can be used as an alternative instructional strategy to create more interactive, contextual, and student-centered learning environments. Future studies are recommended to examine the effectiveness of the model in broader educational contexts and through mixed-method approaches.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the problem-based learning model in writing report texts based on observations of class VIII students at Ahmad Dahlan Middle School, Jambi City. The research uses quantitative methods with a quasi-experimental type of research. Data collection techniques include tests, observation, and documentation. The subjects of this research were class VIII students at Ahmad Dahlan Middle School, Jambi City. The population in this study was in class VIII of Ahmad Dahlan Middle School, Jambi City, and there were four classes totaling 122 students. The sample in this study was class VIII A, consisting of 30 students, and class VIII B, consisting of 29 students. The research results show that the use of the problem-based learning model influences student learning outcomes in writing observation report texts. The ability to write student observation report text increases due to the use of a learning-based model. This was proven in the posttest, where the control class got an average score of 77.55. Meanwhile, the experimental class posttest was 84.96. In the control class posttest, the lowest score was 67, while the lowest score in the experimental class posttest was 80, and the highest score in the control class posttest was 89, which experienced an increase in the experimental class posttest, namely 92.

Abstract

Kemampuan menulis sesuai kaidah bahasa Indonesia merupakan kompetensi dasar yang penting bagi siswa menengah pertama. Namun, dalam praktiknya, sering kali ditemukan ketidaksesuaian antara hasil tulisan siswa dengan Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI) atau EYDPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk kesalahan ejaan dalam menulis teks prosedur siswa kelas VII SMPN 26 Tanjung Jabung Timur. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 28 siswa. Data penelitian berupa hasil kerja siswa menulis teks prosedur yang ditinjau dari aspek yaitu, pemakaian kata, penulisan kata, dan penggunaan tanda baca. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes, dokumentasi, dan teknik catat. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 73 data kesalahan dengan total 145 bentuk kesalahan ejaan. Kesalahan tersebut terdiri atas kesalahan pemakaian huruf sebanyak 132 bentuk, kesalahan penulisan kata sebanyak 4 bentuk, dan kesalahan penggunaan tanda baca sebanyak 9 bentuk. Kesalahan yang paling dominan adalah kesalahan pemakaian huruf, terutama penggunaan huruf kapital pada awal kalimat. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menerapkan kaidah ejaan bahasa Indonesia secara tepat. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pembelajaran yang lebih intensif dan latihan menulis secara berkelanjutan agar kemampuan menulis siswa sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa Indonesia dapat meningkat.

Abstract

This study examines the lexical variation of the Kerinci language across Pulau Tengah, Benik, and Jujun Villages in Keliling Danau District, Kerinci Regency, in response to linguistic diversity shaped by geographical and socio-cultural dynamics. The research addresses the question of how lexical differences manifest among these speech communities and to what extent such differences indicate dialectal variation. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study utilizes 200 basic vocabulary items based on the Morris Swadesh list, with data collected through observation, interviews, elicitation, recording, and note-taking techniques. The data were analyzed through transcription, identification, classification, and dialectometric calculation. The findings reveal that 36 out of 200 glosses exhibit lexical variation, indicating differences in form while maintaining similar meanings across the three villages. Dialectometric analysis shows a difference percentage of 16%, which falls within the “no significant difference” category (0%–20%). These results suggest that despite observable lexical variation, the Kerinci language in the three locations remains relatively homogeneous, influenced by close geographical proximity, social interaction, and shared cultural practices.

Abstract

This research aims to develop scienitific-based Jambi Malay language teaching material product. The method used to achieve the objektives is Research and Development (R&D) with Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation procedures. To find out the teaching material product use, the researcher use validition questionnaire method of material experts, scientific experts, language experts, graphics experts. Questionnaeres were also distributed to students as users of teaching material products to find out the practicality of teaching material products, which include: material, language, graphics and ease of use. All data obtained through questionnaires were processed with descriptive statistics. Using Likert scale criteria, expert validation results show that the material aspect of teaching materials has a percentage of 84,44% with a very valid category; the scientific aspect obtained a percentage of 92% with a very valid category; the language aspect obtained  a percentage of 96% with a very valid category; the graphic aspect obtained a percentage of 90% with a very valid category. Based on the results of user practitioner test, material feasibility wa sobtained at 95%. Thus, the resulting Jambi Malay language teaching material products are suitable for implementation in the lecture process. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan produk bahan ajar bahasa Melayu Jambi berbasis saintifik. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan adalah Research and Development dengan prosedur Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Untuk mengetahui kelayakan produk bahan ajar yang dikembangkan digunakan metode angket validasi ahli ahli materi, ahli saintifik, ahli bahasa, dan ahli grafika. Angket juga disebarkan kepada mahasiswa sebagai pengguna produk bahan ajar untuk mengetahui kepraktisan produk bahan ajar yang meliputi: materi, bahasa, grafika, dan kemudahan pengguna. Keseluruhan data yang diperoleh melalui angket diolah dengan statistik deskriptif. Dengan menggunakan kriteria skala likert, hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa aspek materi bahan ajar memiliki persentase 84,44% dengan kategori sangat valid; aspek saintifik memperoleh persentase 92% dengan kategori sangat valid; aspek bahasa memperoleh persentase 96% dengan kategori sangat valid; aspek grafika memperoleh persentase 90% dengan kategori sangat valid. Berdasarkan hasil uji praktisi pengguna, diperoleh kelayakan produk buku bahan ajar sebesar 95% dengan kategori sangat layak. Dengan demikian, produk bahan ajar bahasa Melayu Jambi yang dihasilkan layak diimplementasikan dalam proses pembelajaran.
