Teachers at State Junior High Schools in Batam City, Riau Islands Province, have varying work ethics. The varying performance of teachers is caused by education, training and experience gained while working. The problem in State Junior High Schools in Batam City is the less than optimal achievement of teachers. Based on the problem, it is suspected that there are several influencing factors, namely leadership, work place, motivation and work commitment felt by teachers. This study aims to analyze the mediating role of work commitment in the influence of leadership, work place, motivation on teacher achievement. The study was conducted using a quantitative descriptive method and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The data used in this study used primary data obtained from the answers of 125 respondents. The results of this study support the proposed hypothesis, namely: Leadership has a positive and significant effect on Work Commitment. Motivation has a positive and significant effect on Work Commitment. Work Place has a positive and significant effect on Work Commitment. Work Commitment has a positive and significant effect on Teacher achievement. Work Commitment can mediate the positive and significant influence between leadership variables, work place and motivation simultaneously on teacher achievement in SMP Negeri Batam City. The managerial implication of this study is that the role of work motivation needs to be considered more deeply to improve teacher achievement to accomplish the targeted goals, because this variable has a positive and significant influence both directly and indirectly.

Abstract

The storage of beef in the main kitchen of a five-star hotel requires proper hygiene and sanitation procedures to maintain quality, particularly during major holiday periods. This study aims to identify how these procedures are implemented in beef storage as a key factor in guest satisfaction. The research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach at one five-star hotel. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that hygiene and sanitation practices among staff are generally well carried out. However, chiller cleanliness, storage temperature control, and beef arrangement are not fully in line with standard operating procedures. This study is limited to one hotel, so the findings cannot be generalized. Future research is recommended to involve more hotels, examine the duration of storage temperature application, and evaluate the effectiveness of hygiene and sanitation standard operating procedures.

Abstract

This article discusses the potential of IPR-based sustainable tourism in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, three Southeast Asian countries with immense cultural resources that can further develop the tourism industry. This analysis primarily assesses the adequacy of the relevant regulatory frameworks in bridging sustainability and tourism, particularly by utilising the relevant IPR regimes. Employing the normative legal research method, this study finds that all three countries are for the most part, normatively inadequate to adopt an IPR-based sustainable tourism system, due to the lack of emphasis on ‘social interests’ with regards to community development and its connection with the bigger and more urgent objective of environmental sustainability. However, the study also notes that Indonesia stands out as the country with the most comprehensive and locally sensitive IPR frameworks. These frameworks potentially facilitate a harmonious connection between the three domains through the perspective of Roscoe Pound’s Sociological Jurisprudence, specifically how law is viewed as an instrument for social engineering, which serves the objective of moving the tourism sector and its stakeholders towards a more sustainable approach.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge management on the business performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, with green innovation and decision-making as mediating variables. Using a quantitative approach and PLS-SEM method on 300 MSMEs, the analysis results reveal that knowledge management has no significant direct effect on business performance, but has a significant positive effect on green innovation and decision-making. Furthermore, decision-making is found to have a strong positive effect on business performance, while green innovation shows a negative effect on business performance. These findings highlight the central role of decision-making as a key mediator in the relationship between knowledge management and business performance. This study offers practical insights for strengthening knowledge management and decision-making strategies in the context of developing resilient and sustainable MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of sustainable ecotourism in Sekupang Deer Park based on TikTok media, with a focus on promotional strategies, visual content quality, and consistency of educational messages on conservation. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with managers and TikTok administrators, field observations, and digital content analysis, then analyzed descriptively using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The results show that TikTok has been used as a promotional medium, but it has not been optimized and managed strategically. The visual content is attractive, but it emphasizes entertainment and visit promotion rather than educational messages about conservation. Messages about environmental preservation, deer conservation, and sustainable ecotourism principles are inconsistent, so that a strong sustainable ecotourism identity has not yet been established. A planned and integrated content strategy between promotion, education, and sustainability needs to be implemented in order to achieve ecotourism goals.

Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the impact of brand warmth and brand competence on consumers repurchase intentions for local fashion brands in Indonesia, focusing on Batam City. Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the Stereotype Content Model (SCM), this study examines consumer engagement as a mediating factor and influencer marketing as a moderating variable. Research Methodology: A quantitative method was employed, and responses from 446 participants in Indonesia were collected using structured questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS 3. Results: The findings revealed that brand warmth significantly enhanced repurchase intention, whereas brand competence did not. However, warmth and competence substantially increased consumer engagement, positively mediating the relationship with repurchase intention. Additionally, influencer marketing strengthens the effect of brand perception on consumer engagement. Conclusions: These insights suggest that emotional perception (warmth) is a stronger driver of consumer loyalty than functional perception (competence), and that influencer-driven strategies can effectively boost brand-consumer connections. Limitations: This study focuses only on local fashion brands in Indonesia, especially bags and wallets; therefore, the results may not apply to other products or industries. The study was conducted only in Indonesia and mainly involved female consumers. Contributions: This study makes a significant theoretical contribution by integrating the TPB and SCM into the local branding context, particularly by emphasizing emotional branding and influencer partnerships to enhance sustained consumer engagement and loyalty in the competitive local fashion market.
