Abstract

Purpose – This study evaluates the success of developing podcast-based learning media in Vocational Education Management courses in higher education. The background of this study is the need for innovation in learning media responsive to the development of digital technology, especially in supporting vocational learning that emphasizes practical and applied skills.Methodology – This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design and an explanatory and correlational approach through the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The sampling technique was randomly conducted on 168 students from five Building Engineering Education Study Program classes who had taken the course. The research instrument covers six variables: content, technical aspects, learning design, involvement and motivation, implementation and benefits, and perceived usefulness.Findings – The results showed that all indicators met convergent validity with an AVE value above 0.847 and high consistent reliability (CR> 0.95). The six aspects of the study contributed an influence of 87.10%, and the five measurement variables contributed 50.40%. Hypothesis H-DIR5 (IBA→PU) obtained a value of β = 0.213, T-statistic = 2.847 and ρ-value = 0.005. Based on this, the value of the technical aspect, implementation aspects, and benefits has a positive influence, which means that the more the two aspects increase, the more the perceived usefulness of media development increases.Significance – This study provides an empirical evaluation model for the effectiveness of podcast-based learning media in vocational education. These findings can be the basis for developing digital learning strategies that are more effective, interactive, and relevant to students' needs and the demands of the world of work in the digital era. In addition, this study's results can enrich the literature on applying the PLS-SEM model in evaluating technology-based learning media in higher education environments.

Abstract

The high demand for labor in the industrial sector and the open unemployment rate in Indonesia, which reaches 5.32% of the total workforce, indicate that the quality of Indonesian Human Resources is still relatively low and requires serious attention. To address these issues, the Directorate of Vocational School Development encourages the implementation of the teaching factory program as an innovative strategy to enhance students' competencies to better align with the dynamic and competitive demands of the industrial world. This research aims to evaluate the implementation of the teaching factory program in the competencies of Interior Design and Furniture Engineering at Vocational School 52 Jakarta using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product). This research uses a mixed-methods approach with an evaluative method. Data collection was carried out using questionnaire instruments, in-depth interviews, direct field observations, and relevant documentation studies. All the data obtained were analyzed descriptively and narratively to gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the program's implementation. The evaluation results show that in all aspects of the evaluation, most indicators have met the established criteria. However, several improvements are still needed, such as involving education experts in the preparation of curriculum documents, refining learning documents like MoUs and jobsheets, and enhancing job placement and continuous development for graduates. This recommendation is expected to serve as a basis for policy-making to optimize the implementation of the teaching factory so that it can produce graduates who are truly job-ready and adaptable to changes in the industrial world.

Abstract

Muara Gembong merupakan salah satu dari sepuluh kecamatan yang mengalami kekeringan di Kabupaten Bekasi. Kondisi ini terpaksa harus ditempuh oleh warga kecamatan Muara Gembong dengan segala dampak yang mempengaruhi kesehatan mereka. Untuk mengimplementasikan upaya penyediaan air bersih, tim pengabdian menyediakan sumur bor sebagai sumber air bersih warga penduduk sekitar. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pengumpulan data dan pengujian sumur yang meliputi yaitu antara lain pemeriksaan tanah, deskripsi batuan, pengukuran logging, pemompaan uji, pengambilan contoh air, dan pemeriksaan kualitas air sumur tersebut. Maka, sebagai hasil dari upaya penyediaan air bersih, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Jakarta membuat sumur bor untuk para penduduk agar dapat mengakses air bersih untuk digunakan dalam berbagai kepentingan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan dalam pengembangan bahan ajar mata kuliah statistika di program studi PTB UNJ. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deksriptif kuantitatif yang berorientasi pada pengembangan produk. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran angket analisis kebutuhan pada mahasiswa PTB UNJ. Produk yang dikembangkan yaitu e-modul interaktif yang di dalamnya terdapat tulisan, gambar, dan link video belajar. Analisis kebutuhan digunakan sebagai langkah untuk mengetahui sumber belajar yang digunakan dosen dan mahasiswa, serta mengetahui kendala saat pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil analisis melalui angket yang telah diisi oleh 34 mahasiswa PTB UNJ yang sudah mengambil Mata Kuliah Statistika Hasil analisis terhadap 34 mahasiswa yang mengambil Mata Kuliah Statistika menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa belum menggunakan e-modul interaktif selama pembelajaran (64,7%). Namun, mayoritas setuju bahwa pengembangan e-modul interaktif diperlukan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan materi (52,9%) dan efektivitas pembelajaran (55,9%). Dengan demikian, pengembangan bahan ajar ini dianggap penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran statistika di PTB UNJ.

Abstract

This study addresses the critical issue of insufficient spatial thinking abilities among students, which significantly affects their performance in higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) tasks, particularly in trigonometry. Focusing on 11th-grade students in Tanjungpinang, Indonesia, the research investigates how spatial thinking influences the ability to solve trigonometric comparison problems. Employing a mixed-method approach, the study integrates quantitative data from the Higher-Order Thinking Skills in Trigonometric Comparisons Assessment (HOTS-TCA) with qualitative insights from post-test interviews. Rasch Model Analysis evaluates the quality of an assessment instrument by providing measures of respondent abilities and item difficulties, fit statistics to ensure model alignment, reliability, and separation indices for consistency, a Wright Map for visualizing the relationship between skills and difficulties, and checks for unidimensionality and potential item bias to ensure fairness and validity. The Rasch analysis further confirms the reliability and validity of the HOTS-TCA instrument, highlighting its effectiveness in measuring spatial thinking across varying ability levels. The study finds that students with high spatial ability excel in visualizing geometric relationships but struggle with complex three-dimensional tasks. In contrast, medium-ability students have difficulties with mental manipulation and real-world applications, and low-ability students face significant challenges in basic visualization and interpreting geometric structures, leading to frequent misconceptions.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop teaching material regarding research design in the Electronic Module-based Research Methodology course which consists of problems, theoretical basis, hypothesis submission, research methods and to find out the value of the effectiveness of electronic module teaching materials through limited distribution. This study uses a research and development research method (R&D) with the Thiagarajan 4D model. The results of the validation by material experts were 0,94 in the very high category, while the results of the validation by the media experts were 0,89 in the very high category. The limited trial results showed an increase in the average value of the pre test by 62,45 and post test by 78,53. Therefore, it can be concluded that the electronic module teaching materials for this electronic module can increase understanding in terms of material and are declared fit for use in learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi kualitas butir soal Ujian Tengah Semester (UTS) Biologi Umum menggunakan analisis Model Rasch. Instrumen terdiri dari 75 soal pilihan ganda yang mencakup berbagai materi Biologi Umum, dianalisis berdasarkan item fit, tingkat kesulitan, dan fungsi informasi tes. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa reliabilitas item sangat tinggi (0,97), menandakan konsistensi dalam mengukur kemampuan mahasiswa. Sebagian besar item memiliki nilai Infit dan Outfit dalam rentang toleransi (0,5–1,5), mendukung validitas model Rasch, meskipun beberapa item menunjukkan misfit, seperti Item 13 dan 54. Analisis Wright Map mengindikasikan cakupan instrumen yang baik pada kemampuan menengah, namun terdapat celah pada tingkat kemampuan ekstrem. Distribusi tingkat kesulitan item menunjukkan variasi yang cukup, tetapi beberapa materi, seperti Makhluk hidup dan metode ilmiah, didominasi item sangat mudah, yang kurang optimal untuk pengukuran kemampuan mahasiswa. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya distribusi tingkat kesulitan yang seimbang dan revisi pada item misfit untuk meningkatkan kualitas instrumen. Rekomendasi utama adalah penambahan item untuk rentang kemampuan ekstrem dan penyesuaian distribusi tingkat kesulitan demi pengukuran yang lebih komprehensif dan akurat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan aplikasi canva sebagai media pembelajaran materi loader dan truk kepada mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang berlokasi di Jl. Rawamangun Muka, Jakarta Timur. Waktu pelaksanaan penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan pada pertengahan tahun 2023/2024. Metode penelitian berikut ini menggunakan metode R&D (Research & Development) dengan model pengembangan 4D (define, design, development, disseminate). Dengan menggunakan validasi dari ahli media dan ahli materi, Kesimpulan yang didapatkan pada penelitian berikut ini, pemanfaatan aplikasi canva untuk kegiatan pembelajaran dinyatakan sangat layak, karena mendapatkan yang sangat layak yang terdiri dari validasi ahli media sebesar 83,1%, kemudian validasi ahli materi sebesar 82,2% dan dari penilaian pengguna sebesar 86,8%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengembangan E-learning Content berbasis podcast untuk memperkuat pemahaman keterbaruan penelitian. Dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta bahwa sebagian besar penelitian cenderung menjadi repetitif dan kurang bermanfaat, terutama karena kurangnya pemahaman terhadap keterbaruan penelitian. Tujuannya adalah meningkatkan pemahaman terhadap keterbaruan penelitian melalui pengembangan konten pembelajaran berbasis media audio-visual. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah research & development (R&D) mengikuti model 4D yang dimodifikasi. E-learning Content berupa podcast dipilih sebagai media pembelajaran utama karena keleluasaan akses dan fleksibilitasnya. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa, khususnya generasi Z, terhadap keterbaruan penelitian. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan E-learning Content berbasis podcast dapat menjadi alternatif efektif dalam mendukung pemahaman materi keterbaruan penelitian.

Abstract

The use of synthetic fiber gipsum board began to be reduced and replaced with fiber derived from nature, one of the fibers that can be replaced is a pineapple fiber. Therefore, further research on the utilization of pineapple fiber waste as a substitute for synthetic fiber is required. This research is a comparative quantitative research using experimental method by conducting 2 (two) characteristic tests consisting of physical properties test and mechanical properties test with pineapple fiber usage of 5% and 6% as gipsum board fiber. Based on physical and mechanical properties test, it was found that pineapple fiber gipsum board with 6% fiber usage had better value and quality compared to commercial gipsum board. This result can be used as reference of testing about building materials that are environmentally friendly and can be applied as one of the material resources in vocational education.
