Abstract

A.                                                                                 ABSTRACTHepatitis A is a disease that attacks the liver caused by the Hepatitis A virus (HAV). In Indonesia, 19.3% of the population is infected with Hepatitis A. The process of its spread occurs indirectly, namely through the fecal-oral route from human to human so that it is very closely related to personal hygiene. Islamic boarding schools are schools with a boarding school system that guides students to have an attitude of independence and good personal hygiene. Therefore, researchers want to provide an overview regarding the link between personal hygiene and the incidence of hepatitis A in Islamic boarding school students. The research method is a systematic review of literature from the Google Scholar, Pubmed, Perish or Publish and Cochrane databases. The literature found was 230 articles and only 6 articles that could be reviewed systematically passed the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Sysematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) algorithm used in this systematic review. From this systematic review it can be concluded that it is necessary to pay attention to personal hygiene in Islamic boarding school students to stop the transmission of Hepatitis A.

Abstract

Besides the benefits of breastfeeding, the number of children exclusively breastfed was still low. The mother's breastfeeding decision might be influenced by breastfeeding support and preparation. The decision also might influence the mother's satisfaction and the child's well-being. Thus, to minimize the adverse effect of the decision, it is essential to identify the factors associated with mother satisfaction on their breastfeeding status. This study aimed to understand the correlation between breastfeeding support and preparation on mother's satisfaction with the infant's breastfeeding status. This study was a cross-sectional, observational study held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The inclusion criteria were the mother of a baby aged 6 to 24 months who lived in Yogyakarta City and was willing to join the research. A total of 150 respondents, mostly aged 19-40 years, joined the study. Spouse support is most influential on breastfeeding (BF) status. Mother's satisfaction with infant feeding choices was influenced by BF status, husband's support, and healthcare support. Husband support is essential for the mother to achieve exclusive breastfeeding and meet maternal satisfaction. Appropriate healthcare personnel support positively impacts maternal satisfaction by providing information and encouraging mothers to make informed infant feeding decision-making.

Abstract

Breastfeeding promotion is vital for improving neonatal health and reducing mortality rates, particularly in developing countries. The World Health Organization advocates for exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life due to its substantial benefits for infant growth, development, and immunity. Understanding the determinants of exclusive breastfeeding, such as maternal knowledge and practices, is crucial for devising effective interventions to enhance breastfeeding rates among mothers. Social-psychological interventions, including family and peer support, have demonstrated efficacy in increasing breastfeeding frequency by addressing behavioral changes in new parents. Psychological factors such as self-efficacy, postnatal depression, and stress significantly influence breastfeeding decisions. Additionally, cultural norms, social media, and healthcare professionals are critical in shaping breastfeeding practices. This literature review examines the influence of these factors and interventions, underscoring the need for comprehensive strategies to promote breastfeeding, especially among novice and young mothers. Peer support programs, education-based initiatives, and postnatal support are highlighted as effective approaches. The study emphasizes the importance of tailored socio-psychological interventions and calls for further research to address existing gaps and strengthen the validity of findings, ultimately aiming to enhance breastfeeding outcomes and the overall well-being of mothers and infants.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCD) and oral disease problems can arise in all age groups, including teenagers. Risky behavior is caused by a poor lifestyle and other factors. This study aimed to determine risky behavior and NCD incidence as well as oral problems in students at the Yogyakarta campus. This can lead NCD and oral problems. This research is quantitative descriptive-analytic research condected in a private university in Yogyakarta. The data was collected through an electronic questionnaire (Google form) and analyzed descriptively. Among the students' risky behaviors, 87.27% consumed excessive sweet food, 87.88% salty food, 82.42% oily food, 80% of seasonings, 57.58% consumed instant noodles, 84.85% consumed too little fruit and vegetables, and 87.27% did not participate in physical activity for 30 minutes. In the last 12 months, there was a high incidence of dental and oral health issues among students without symptoms. It was concluded that the most dominant risk behavior for non- communicable disease correlated with poor diet related to food consumption and lack of physical activity. All students had no symptoms or no doctor's diagnosis, but students experienced oral health problem within 12 months. A healthy diet, regular exercise, and good oral hygiene can reduce the risk of NCDs and dental and oral diseases.
