Abstract

Biofouling attached to floating net cages and other aquaculture containers is an obstacle in aquaculture. The presence of biofouling can reduce the quality of the environment and interfere with the health of farmed animals, resulting in large losses. This study assessed the anti-biofouling activity of the Callyspongia pseudoreticulata extract component (EMCp) against the Barnacle Balanus amphitrite. For this purpose, C. pseudoreticulata was extracted with 80% methanol using the maceration method at <40°C to obtain EMCp. B. amphitrite was cultured in an aquarium at 25 ppt. The anti-biofouling activity of EMCp was tested against B. amphitrite larvae using asbestos plates. The study used a Complete Randomized Design with three treatments, namely, A) asbestos plate smeared with EMCp + varnish, B) asbestos plate smeared with varnish, and C) asbestos plate not smeared with EMCp and varnish (control). EMCp toxicity test on the larvae used clear bottles, and the adhesion test using 24-well polystyrene plates. Toxicity observations were done after 24 hours, and the number of dead larvae was calculated. The attachment of the larvae was calculated under a microscope at 10× magnification. Identification of groups of chemical compounds using a thin-layer chromatography chromatogram detected under UV lamps and spraying of reagents. The study found that EMCp effectively inhibited the attachment and growth of B. amphitrites with the LC50 of 150 mg/L. Studies of chemical constituents identified various compounds in the extract, including alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids. These results suggest that C. pseudoreticulata has potential as a natural alternative to chemical-based antifouling agents.

Abstract

The Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to improve parents' understanding of the importance of effective communication in recognizing and adjusting the love language of early childhood. Love language is a child's way of receiving and expressing affection, which consists of five main forms: physical touch, words of affirmation, quality time, acts of service, and giving gifts. Through socialization, interactive discussions, and practical simulations, participants gain new insights into communication strategies that are appropriate to children's emotional needs. This activity was carried out at KB Ummatan Washaton, while the community-based research method was used in community service with a qualitative approach. The form of community service activities was carried out using the FGD (Focus Group Discussion) approach, Literature Review, and socialization. The results of the activity showed that many parents who initially did not understand the concept of love language, are now more aware of the importance of adjusting their communication patterns to be more effective in building emotional closeness with their children. However, the challenge of changing old habits is still an obstacle, so further assistance is needed so that the implementation of this concept runs consistently. Overall, this PKM has a positive impact on improving parents' communication skills, which are expected to support children's social and emotional development optimally.

Abstract

An achievement in sport is one of the benchmarks of success of every athlete. One of the causes of the performance degradation is fatigue due to the formation of lactic acid. Supplements are proved to improve the performance in athletes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of citrulline supplementation on lactic acid levels and oxygen saturation on submaximal physical activity. Fatigue can be seen from lactic acid levels in subjects who have performed physical activity. This research method used randomized group pretest postest group design. The subjects used were male students of pencak silat airlangga university, and divided into two groups. The first group was given placebo and the second group was given citrulline. Each group was given the same treatment of three minutes of submaximal physical activity using an ergocycle. Before and after doing the activity the blood lactic acid and oxygen saturation of the subject was checked. The result of the data showed that lactic acid and oxygen saturation in both groups had p<0,05. Citrulline supplementation had effect on lactic acid and oxygen saturation. The results of the research showed that the group given with citrulline had significant effect on lactic acid and oxygen saturation before and after treatment.

Abstract

This research investigates the influence of corporate scale and earnings capacity on a company’s market valuation, which serves as a primary indicator of organizational success. Investor perception, which is represented in the company's stock price and overall performance, is used to assess firm worth. A literature review is the methodology employed, and thirty pertinent papers were chosen based on factors such publications from 2013 to 2024 and their applicability to the research issue. Research confirms that business size significantly influences firm value, as larger organizations frequently command higher prices and better investor sentiment. Additionally, it has been demonstrated that profitability significantly affects business value, with high profitability being a sign of efficient performance and resource management. The study's practical implications for businesses are that they must concentrate on boosting profitability in order to draw in investors and raise firm value, while its theoretical implications suggest that firm size and profitability should be taken into account in business valuation models.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to find out: The effect of development inequality and economic growth on poverty in Mimika Regency. The method used in this study is the associative method. Data collection techniques through documentation. The analytical tool used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that partially development inequality had a positive effect and significance and ecomonic growth had a positive but not significant effect on poverty in Mimika Regency. Meanwhile, in terms of feasibility, the development inequality model and economic growth have a significant effect on poverty in Mimika Regency.
