Abstract

Stunting is a condition in which a toddler is shorter than their own age. This condition is defined as having a body length or height that is greater than the - 2 SD median of WHO child development criteria. Childhood stunting can have an effect on growth and development. Growth is not ideal, and developmental hurdles arise from birth, resulting in low educational achievement later in life. To reduce the risk of stunting, it is essential to identify and implement appropriate and optimal action as soon as possible in order to avoid or minimize lasting negative effects on children's growth and development. It aims at determining the way in which stunt interventions take place in a few developing countries. The research plan utilized may be a Writing Survey utilizing the Prisma strategy, which depicts the comes about of hindering intercessions in creating countries. Fifteen articles met the incorporation criteria. Most come about of the article talks about education intervention and multi-micronutrients. In Indonesia, four articles show results with a significant impact on the p-value. and;0.05, 3 articles had no effect in Cambodia, 2 articles showed significant results in India, and 3 influential articles in Ethiopia with p-value and;0.05, impact had a p-value of <0.05.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is one of the main contributors to the high maternal mortality rate in Indonesia. Meanwhile, it is suspected that vitamin D deficiency was one of the triggers of the occurrence of slow onset preeclampsia. Then research is needed aimed at analyzing the relationship between vitamin D levels and the incidence of slow onset preeclampsia. The design of this study was a case control with 30 respondents for each group, who were patients visiting Dr. Slamet Hospital, Garut. The diagnosis of normal pregnant women and pregnant women with slow onset preeclampsia was obtained from the anamnesa form, and vitamin D levels were examined using the CMIA method (Chemiluminescent Microparticle Immunoassay). The results of the data analysis indicated the value of P = 0.028. It was concluded that there was a relationship between vitamin D levels and the incidence of slow seizure preeclampsia. Keywords: vitamin D; severe preeclampsia; slow onset ABSTRAK Preeklamsi merupakan salah satu penyumbang utama tingginya angka kematian ibu di Indonesia. Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is important because it is connected with infant survival, optimal growth and development and improving the quality of the next generation. This study aims to analyze and determine the frequency of prenatal care and relationship counseling lactation with exclusive breastfeeding. A historical cohort study design and bivariate and multivariable analyzes performed to look for association and dominant factor among the independent variables (frequency of prenatal care and counseling lactation), confounding variables (knowledge, education, employment, parity and level of family income) with the dependent variable (exclusive breastfeeding). In the logistic regression analysis found knowledge as a dominant factor in the exclusive breastfeeding (OR = 4,30; 95% CI = 1,98 _ 9,31). The conclusion of this study is that the more often the frequency of antenatal care will increase exclusive breastfeeding, and the more lactation counseling given by health provider during antenatal visit will increase exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Kelompok yang rentan terhadap gizi kurang adalah balita. World Health Organization (WHO) menyatakan kematian anak bawah lima tahun (balita) akibat gizi kurang sebesar 54% pada tahun 2002. Toddler is a group at risk of undernutrition in which World Health Organization (WHO) stated that toddler mortality because of undernutrition was 54% in 2002. In Indonesia, the prevalence increased from 17.9% in 2010 to 19.6% in 2013. In Tangerang City, there was 1.43% of toddlers suffering from undernutrition in 2013. This study aimed to prove in valid the correlation between Hearth Program covering food-providing behavior, toddler’s hygiene behavior, health care seeking behavior and toddler parenting behavior with undernutrition incidence among toddlers. This study was quantitative, cross sectional, using primary data, analyzed in univariate, bivariate and multivariate in a month on September. Samples were taken by total sampling as many as 60 toddlers suffering from undernutrition in Tangerang City. Results showed that 12 (20%) of 60 toddlers suffered from very underweight nutrition and the remaining amounted to 48 toddlers (80%) suffered from underweight nutrition. There was a correlation between food providing behavior and health care seeking behavior with undernutrition among toddlers. Variable food-providing behavior was the dominant factor influencing undernutrition among toddlers with OR = 4.655 (CI = 1.052 – 20.6) after controlled by the variable health care seeking behavior. Improvement on food providing and health care seeking is hopefully able to improve and decrease undernutrition among toddlers.

Abstract

Cadres are public health volunteers chosen from a local community. Cadres should undergo constant educational training and empowerment since they play an active role in monitoring health issues in their community, in this case stunting. The planning, implementation, and evaluation processes of cadre empowerment are not always successful and effective. This scoping review aims to identify the factors that influence the success of cadre empowerment in Indonesia, so that a model of empowerment and education can be formulated by focusing on the factors that can give the most optimal results. This scoping review is based on the guidelines of PRISMA-ScR. The article search involves two databases, PUBMED and Google Scholar. The keywords used include: Stunting [MeSH] AND “Health Cadres OR Health volunteers” AND Factors associated OR determinant. “Stunting AND Kader AND pemberdayaan AND Factor”. The review resulted in the selection of eight articles, with one focusing on a particular region of Sumatera (Aceh), while the rest are on Java (West Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java). The review finds certain shared factors that influence the success of cadre empowerment, including KAP (knowledge, attitude, and practice), self-efficacy, sectoral and community support, and resources.

Abstract

Early onset preeclampsia is a hypertensive condition during pregnancy that has a significant impact on maternal morbidity and mortality rates globally. The incidence of preeclampsia with complications in Indonesia is 14%, which is higher than the general incidence of preeclampsia. This serious condition can be a threat to the lives of the mother and fetus if not prevented. One effort to reduce the incidence of early onset preeclampsia is to take preventive measures by identifying risk factors from the start. The application of technology to education in the health sector has been widely developed. Android-based applications make it easier for users to gain knowledge about the risk factors for pregnancy, one of which is early onset preeclampsia. Early onset preeclampsia can be predicted by screening for risk factors at less than 20 weeks of gestation. The activeness of pregnant women in Understanding the risk of early onset preeclampsia plays an important role in reducing the incidence of preeclampsia complications in pregnancy. The development of an application for the screening and monitoring of early onset preeclampsia aims to make it easier for pregnant women to independently screen and monitor pregnancy. The resulting features included risk factor screening, health worker consultation, and early onset preeclampsia education. A Likert scale was used to assess the material in the application by three material expert validators. The results of the total validation of material experts obtained highly feasible results (92.22%) to be tested on users with several improvements.

Abstract

Postpartum depression is a serious issue affecting mothers after childbirth and can harm both maternal mental health and child development. Hormonal declines postpartum increase vulnerability, often compounded by high stress and limited social support—especially from husbands. This study reviews nine articles from the past five years to examine how husband support maintains postpartum maternal mental health. Database searches with strict inclusion criteria and mixed-method analyses were conducted. Findings show that strong husband support—physical, emotional, and informational—reduces postpartum depression risk by more than twofold. Spousal relationship quality, maternal age, and socioeconomic conditions also influence outcomes, while insufficient husband support can affect fathers’ mental health. This study underscores the need for educating and engaging husbands during the postpartum period. These findings inform inclusive maternal mental health policies and programs, including: adoption and enforcement of routine EPDS screening as standard care (aligned with WHO recommendations and Indonesia’s Permenkes No. 21/2021 on maternal mental health services); strengthening family-centered services that actively involve husbands (partner-inclusive antenatal/postnatal classes, structured father education, couple counseling); culturally sensitive supports across socioeconomic contexts; and clear referral pathways from primary care to specialized services to ensure timely, equitable treatment for all mothers and families.

Abstract

Objective: to evaluate SRNS therapy in children. Steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS) is one of the most common causes of chronic kidney disease in children. Kidney Disease Initiative for Global Outcome (KDIGO) no longer recommends an alkylating agent (AA) as the treatment protocol for SRNS, still in some developing countries, such as Indonesia, there are some limitations in obtaining immunosuppressive agents other than AA. Method: Data were collected from the medical records of SRNS children with SRNS aged between 1 and 18 years from January 2016 to December 2021. The data included time to remission, adverse effects, and relapse-free period after receiving AA treatment based on the lesion type.  Results: Among the 369 patients enrolled from January 2016 to December 2018, 244 patients (66.12%) had remission with AA, and 125 patients experienced persistent proteinuria. Most of them had remission during the fifth to seventh cycles of intravenous AA (after 6 – 8 months). None of the patients experienced severe adverse effects of AA. Only a small proportion of patients had chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage II–V during follow-up. Conclusions: AA is still effective in treating SRNS in children, with only a few and less harmful adverse effects
