Abstract

Postpartum depression is a serious issue affecting mothers after childbirth and can harm both maternal mental health and child development. Hormonal declines postpartum increase vulnerability, often compounded by high stress and limited social support—especially from husbands. This study reviews nine articles from the past five years to examine how husband support maintains postpartum maternal mental health. Database searches with strict inclusion criteria and mixed-method analyses were conducted. Findings show that strong husband support—physical, emotional, and informational—reduces postpartum depression risk by more than twofold. Spousal relationship quality, maternal age, and socioeconomic conditions also influence outcomes, while insufficient husband support can affect fathers’ mental health. This study underscores the need for educating and engaging husbands during the postpartum period. These findings inform inclusive maternal mental health policies and programs, including: adoption and enforcement of routine EPDS screening as standard care (aligned with WHO recommendations and Indonesia’s Permenkes No. 21/2021 on maternal mental health services); strengthening family-centered services that actively involve husbands (partner-inclusive antenatal/postnatal classes, structured father education, couple counseling); culturally sensitive supports across socioeconomic contexts; and clear referral pathways from primary care to specialized services to ensure timely, equitable treatment for all mothers and families.

Abstract

Objective: to evaluate SRNS therapy in children. Steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS) is one of the most common causes of chronic kidney disease in children. Kidney Disease Initiative for Global Outcome (KDIGO) no longer recommends an alkylating agent (AA) as the treatment protocol for SRNS, still in some developing countries, such as Indonesia, there are some limitations in obtaining immunosuppressive agents other than AA. Method: Data were collected from the medical records of SRNS children with SRNS aged between 1 and 18 years from January 2016 to December 2021. The data included time to remission, adverse effects, and relapse-free period after receiving AA treatment based on the lesion type.  Results: Among the 369 patients enrolled from January 2016 to December 2018, 244 patients (66.12%) had remission with AA, and 125 patients experienced persistent proteinuria. Most of them had remission during the fifth to seventh cycles of intravenous AA (after 6 – 8 months). None of the patients experienced severe adverse effects of AA. Only a small proportion of patients had chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage II–V during follow-up. Conclusions: AA is still effective in treating SRNS in children, with only a few and less harmful adverse effects

Abstract

Introduction : Purple sweet potato is variant of sweet potatoes and it haveantocyanin pigment that working as antioxidant. This study aims to observe the protective effect of purple sweet potatoes against free radical damage that occurs after strenuous physical activity. Method : This experimental study was conducted on 24 male mice type Balp/C divided into 4 group with randomized control group post-test only design. Histologic examination of the liver cells was done to see the picture of cell necrosis. Statistical analysis used in this study is anova, to know the difference in the number of cells undergoing necrosis in each group. Result : The result of this study shows that the average number of cells undergoing necrosis in high physical activity group (0,667) is bigger than control group (0,00). The average number of cells undergoing necrosis in maximum physical activity group, given purple sweet potato extract (0,167) is lower than group without purple sweet potato extract (0,667), p less than 0.05. Conclusion : Purple sweet potato could reduce the necrosis in liver cell caused by free radical after maximum physical activity

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between health education, exclusive breastfeeding, and infant weight gain. Exclusive breastfeeding is recognized as the best nutrition for infants; however, adherence to breastfeeding practices is often influenced by the mother's level of education. Through a scoping review approach, we collected and analyzed a total of 10 recent studies that discuss the impact of health education on mothers' attitudes and behaviors regarding exclusive breastfeeding, in line with the PRISMA framework. The analysis results indicate that mothers with adequate health education are more likely to understand the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding and demonstrate a stronger commitment to it. Additionally, optimal exclusive breastfeeding contributes to healthy growth and weight development in infants. These findings emphasize the importance of health education interventions in supporting successful breastfeeding practices, which can improve infants' nutritional status. Further research is needed to explore additional factors influencing this relationship and to formulate more effective strategies for promoting exclusive breastfeeding. Abstract
