Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed human behavior, including education. Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang is one of those who feel the impact of the pandemic. Adjustments to education management are made to improve and ensure learning can occur properly. Online learning is not new, but the pandemic has made digital learning directly used as a solution to overcome this. Using a case study approach, this paper presents our experience in organizing online education at the Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang. The results showed that although online learning can be used in teaching and learning activities during the pandemic, it has not been able to replace practical learning. As the COVID-19 pandemic declines in Indonesia, the author wants to create one that can contribute to learning in the future. Using learning recordings with simulators, practicum recordings, and theoretical learning recordings is expected to help to learn.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Tali tambat merupakan alat vital yang berfungsi menjaga keseimbangan kapal saat bersandar, baik pada kapal dengan pelabuhan maupun kapal dengan kapal. Untuk memastikan seluruh proses sandar berjalan lancar dan aman, penting dilakukan perawatan serta pengecekan rutin terhadap tali tambat. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperdalam pemahaman mengenai metode pemeriksaan dan pemeliharaan tali tambat guna kelancaran pada saat sandar, serta menilai apakah perawatan yang dilakukan di atas kapal telah benar dan efektif dalam mencegah kecelakaan. Metode: Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian difokuskan pada cara awak kapal melaksanakan perawatan tali tambat, termasuk wawancara dengan mualim I dan bosun Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis, diketahui bahwa perawatan tali tambat di kapal LNG/C Al Khuwair belum dilakukan dengan optimal. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya pemahaman dan pengetahuan awak kapal mengenai perawatan tali tambat, serta minimnya perhatian dari perusahaan terkait permintaan alat perawatan dan tali cadangan. Kesimpulan: Perusahaan belum menetapkan aturan yang memadai mengenai perawatan tali tambat, sehingga upaya perawatan yang telah dilakukan belum cukup untuk mencegah kecelakaan saat sandar dan membahayakan awak kapal dalam pengoperasian tali tersebut

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia is closely linked to Arabic language literacy, particularly in pesantren, which plays a significant role in developing an understanding of Islamic values. However, the challenges in strengthening Arabic language literacy remain an issue that needs to be addressed, especially concerning santri interest and teaching methods. This study aims to explore the efforts to strengthen Arabic language literacy in the context of Islamic education at Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah. The research method employed in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study design. The results show that Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah has programs that focus on improving knowledge of the Qur’an, language skills, da’wah abilities, and combining formal and informal education. Additionally, the education at the pesantren places a strong emphasis on spiritual aspects through worship activities. With this holistic approach, the pesantren successfully creates a learning environment that supports the mastery of Arabic language literacy. This research contributes significantly to the model for developing Arabic language literacy within the context of Islamic education in educational institutions.

Abstract

Work safety is a form of effort that aims to create a work environment that is safety and prevents various accidents. To improve work safety efforts, namely by using the correct Personal Protective Equipment according to applicable procedures. Personal Protective Equipment is work equipment that must be used by the crew when working on the ship. This study aims to examine the importance of the use of Personal Protective Equipment by ship crews during the discharging process. And also to find out the actions and efforts of ship officers to optimise the application of the use of personal protective equipment during discharging. The author uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques through data observation, interviews and finally documentation. The author examines how the application of Personal Protective Equipment during discharging to maintain crew safety on board MT NOLOWATI III. After conducting research and analysis, it is known that the use of personal protective equipment during the discharging process on the MT NOLOWATI III ship used by the crew does not meet the applicable standards as evidenced by several work accidents. The ship's officer's actions and efforts to optimise the implementation of the use of Personal Protective Equipment during loading and discharging have been optimised, but indeed the crew's awareness of the importance of safety culture is very low. This, needs to be given more optimal actions and efforts to the crew so that they can use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in order to realise and improve safety for themselves, and others

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Urgensi penelitian ini dilakukan karena pengelolaan kinerja guru di Yayasan Pendidikan Al Husna yang masih dilakukan secara manual, sehingga tidak efisien, kurang transparan, dan rentan terhadap kehilangan data, yang menghambat pengambilan keputusan strategis. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang dan mengimplementasikan aplikasi portofolio digital berbasis web yang mengintegrasikan tiga alur kerja tugas unik (reguler, usulan, dan tambahan) untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan akuntabilitas. Metode: Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Waterfall. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan PHP-Laravel dan MySQL, serta diuji melalui Black-Box Testing. Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan seluruh fungsionalitas inti beroperasi sesuai rancangan tanpa kesalahan. Kesimpulan: Aplikasi yang dihasilkan menjadi solusi efektif untuk mendigitalisasi manajemen kinerja, dengan menyediakan data terstruktur untuk mendukung pengambilan keputusan yang lebih baik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategic management in management accounting practices to achieve competitive advantage in Indonesian manufacturing companies. The object of study is medium-scale manufacturing firms focusing on Balance Scorecard (BSC) based strategic planning and SWOT analysis. The method employed is a qualitative descriptive approach through in-depth interviews with accounting and strategy managers (n=10), observation of financial reports, and content analysis of secondary data from annual reports. Findings reveal that BSC integration in financial and internal process perspectives enhances management accounting effectiveness by 25% in strategic decision making, while SWOT analysis identifies product portfolio strengths and market expansion opportunities as key drivers of competitive advantage. The conclusion states that aggressive strategies based on BSC and SWOT are effective for manufacturing firms facing intense competition, with recommendations for QSPM implementation in prioritizing functional strategies.

Abstract

Conceptual understanding is a key focus that should be considered in the implementation of instruction in elementary schools. The level of elementary students’ conceptual understanding can be measured based on indicators such as interpreting, giving examples, classifying, summarizing, drawing inferences, comparing, and explaining. The use of audiovisual media aims to enhance students’ cognitive abilities by providing stimuli such as moving images and sounds and by delivering messages intended to influence their attitudes and emotions. This study aimed to investigate the effect of implementing audiovisual learning media using Canva to improve second-grade students’ conceptual understanding of addition. The study was conducted at MIS Darul Ihya Ciomas with 34 second-grade students as participants. A quantitative approach employing the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model was used. The research adopted a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. Based on the results of the study, the average posttest score of students’ conceptual understanding of addition was 83.03, while the average pretest score was 60.21. The data were analyzed using SPSS 26 for Windows with a Paired Sample T-test at α = 0.001, and the obtained significance value of 0.000 < α = 0.001. These results indicate a significant difference between the posttest and pretest scores. It can therefore be concluded that the use of audiovisual learning media developed with Canva improved the conceptual understanding of addition among second-grade elementary school students in mathematics

Abstract

This article examines the fundamental impact of digital technology adoption, particularly e-learning platforms and WhatsApp, on teacher–student interaction patterns in madrasahs. The scope of the study focuses on the transformation of pedagogical relationships within Islamic educational settings. Adopting the perspective of the Sociology of Ereignis, this research conceptualizes interaction not merely as an exchange of information, but as a meaningful educational event that is increasingly mediated—and potentially reduced—by digital screens. The study employs a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review, critically analyzed using sociological and philosophical frameworks. The findings indicate an ontological shift from warm, relational, and spiritually grounded interactions (Gemeinschaft) toward more functional, instrumental, and distanced forms of interaction (Digital-Gesellschaft). Furthermore, the study reveals a dialectical paradox of digital technology: while it democratizes access to knowledge and weakens traditional hierarchical structures, it simultaneously risks diminishing the spiritual depth of teacher–student relationships and exacerbating social inequalities through the digital divide. The article concludes that, in order to preserve the essence of Islamic education grounded in ta’dib and tarbiyah, madrasahs must move beyond mere technological adoption and critically reconstruct digital interactions so that they remain authentic educational encounters rather than mere transactions of information.

Abstract

The operational integrity of Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels during cargo lifting operations near offshore drilling rigs represents a critical intersection of navigational safety, human factors, and environmental management. This study examines the implementation of watchkeeping practices on board the AHTS Logindo Stamina while operating at the Soehanah Rig in the Natuna Sea, with particular emphasis on mitigating collision risks with rig legs. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, drawing data from participant observation, document analysis, and semi-structured interviews with deck and bridge officers. Root causes of operational vulnerabilities were analyzed using the Fishbone (Ishikawa) Diagram across five domains: Man, Method, Machine, Environment, and Management. The findings indicate that although the vessel operates under an established Safety Management System (SMS), watchkeeping effectiveness is often reduced by human factors, including cognitive fatigue and divided attention during complex, multi-task operations. In addition, gaps were identified in the practical application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), particularly in close-quarters communication between bridge and deck teams. Environmental factors, such as hydrodynamic interactions in proximity to the rig structure, further increase station-keeping demands beyond the optimal performance of Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems alone. The study concludes that collision prevention requires a shift from passive monitoring to active and predictive watchkeeping, supported by targeted navigational checklists and strengthened Bridge Resource Management (BRM) practices. These findings contribute to the enhancement of offshore operational safety and provide practical insights for reducing high-risk maritime incidents.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison between conventional learning models and Islamic learning models. This research is a qualitative study employing library research methods, with data collection conducted through documentation. Data analysis utilizes a comparative technique, specifically analyzing the philosophical foundations of both conventional and Islamic learning and dissecting these concepts through the perspective of Islamic education. The results indicate that Islamic education possesses a comprehensive repertoire of learning models designed to develop students' independence guided by virtuous life values. This approach aims to form individuals with noble character and righteousness across their intellect, emotions, and actions. The study finds that these two learning models differ significantly in concept; therefore, creative collaboration is required from teachers acting as mediators, facilitators, and catalysts in the learning process. By integrating these models based on specific conditions and situations, an innovative and creative synergy between conventional and Islamic learning can be achieved. Ultimately, this collaborative model is highly implementable and meets the needs of comprehensive education in the modern era. Keywords: Education, Islam, Learning, Model
