Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the work ethic and commitment of the principal on the visionary leadership of Junior High School principals in Pekanbaru City. This study was ex post facto research and used a quantitative approach. The population in this study was composed of 151 principals of junior high schools in Pekanbaru City. The research samples were 110 headmasters of a junior high school in the city of Pekanbaru. The technique used to determine the sample was the cluster sampling method. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical, which consists of F test, Multiple Regression Test, and Determinant test analysis using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) Version.23 program. The results of the study show that the principal's work ethic and commitment affect the principal's visionary leadership. This means that the better the work ethic and commitment of the principal, the better the visionary leadership of the principal in developing the school. Good visionary leadership can be seen from the leader's insight, the leader's ability to make changes and make decisions, establish good relationships, be innovative and adhere to spiritual values. The principal is a visionary leader to advance the school as shown by his attitude in carrying out work and his concern for the progress of the school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan koneksi matematis peserta didik dalam materi segiempat dan segitiga disebabkan bahan ajar yang belum dapat memfasilitasi kemampuan koneksi matematis. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menghasilkan LKPD berbasis pendekatan kontekstual pada materi segiempat dan segitiga untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan koneksi matematis peserta didik SMP/MTs. Metode penelelitian menggunakan 4D yaitu Define (pendefinisian), Design (perencanaan), Develop (pengembangan) dan Disseminate (penyebaran). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi angket, observasi dan wawancara. Penelitian ini melibatkan peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Bangkinang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD valid dari hasil expert review dan praktis dari hasil small group. Pada tahap small group LKPD yang dikembangkan memenuhi aspek penilaian yaitu: kemudahan penggunaannya, penyajian LKPD, keterbacaan, dan waktu. Sehingga LKPD berbasis pendekatan kontekstual untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan koneksi matematis bisa digunakan dalam pembelajaran.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis; LKPD; Pendekatan Kontekstual.This research is motivated by the low mathematical connection abilities of students in quadrilateral and triangle material due to teaching materials that cannot facilitate mathematical connection abilities. Abstract

This service activity aims to (1) improve the ability of teachers about mathematical material that contains ability of mathematical understanding, mathematical problem solving, or mathematical connections; (2) Providing knowledge to teachers about strategies of mathematical problem solving; and (3) drill teachers to solve mathematical problems that contain ability of mathematical understanding, mathematical problem solving, or mathematical connections. Activities carried out with a pattern of 40 hours @ 45 minutes, consisting of 18 hours face to face (first day and last day), and 22 hours of independent activity (2 weeks). In the independent activities the teacher is given the task of working on the questions at home and discussed again at the second meeting. The results of the analysis of the initial test answers obtained an average of 49.58 with the highest value of 90 and the lowest value of 15. Strengthening the material at the time of the training was more emphasized on materials not yet mastered by the teacher. After the training, the average teacher mastery increased at the final test to 75.56. It can be concluded that this community service activity can empower the community in Kampar Kiri sub-district especially the mastery of mathematics teachers in solving mathematical problems.

Abstract

This paper aimed at evaluating such aspects as self-efficacy, research methodology, types of supervisor, and academic writing ability in accelerating students accomplishing final papers. 214 students of bachelor and master programs at Universitas Riau - Indonesia were selected through purposive sampling technique as the participants. This research used Context, Input, Process, and Product Evaluation Model to evaluate those variables. The research findings revealed that (a) there was no significant difference in self-efficacy on the aspects of gender ((sig. 0.219 > p 0.05) and learning support facilities ((sig. 0.073 > p  0.05); (b) in research methodology on the aspect of gender ((sig. 0.508 > p 0.05); (c) in academic writing ability on the aspects of gender (sig. 0.939 > p 0.05); and (d) in types of supervisors on the aspects of gender (sig.0.618 > p 0.05), sources of educational cost (sig. 0.474 > p 0.05), and learning support facilities (sig. 0.773 > p 0.05). However, (a) there was a significant difference in self-efficacy on the aspects of profession (sig. 0.000 < p 0.05), and sources of educational cost (sig. 0.014 < p 0.05); (b) in research methodology on the aspects of profession (sig. 0.000 < p 0.05), sources of educational cost (sig. 0.004 < p 0.05), and learning support facilities (sig. 0.001 < p 0.05); (c) in academic writing ability on the aspects of profession (sig. 0.013 < p 0.05 ), sources of educational support (sig. 0.014 < p 0.05), and learning support facilities (sig. 0.000 < p 0.05); and (d) in types of supervisors on the aspect of profession (sig. 0.022 < p 0.05). Partially, self-efficacy contributed 59.7%; research methodology (10.4%) and types of supervisor (0.1%) ---- which is totally 70.2% towards the students’ academic writing ability in accelerating students accomplishing final papers.

Abstract

Learning during the COVID-19 pandemic has caused problems, including poor or poor internet access, so that it becomes one of the obstacles for teaching and learning activities to take place properly. In addition, not a few students who do not get maximum learning outcomes. Both from the subject matter and assignments given by educators during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning system at SMP Negeri 2 Kuantan Hilir Seberang using learning videos. This type of research is descriptive research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this study were students of SMP Negeri 2 Kuantan Hilir Seberang. The results showed that the provision of interactive media in the form of video subject matter was able to increase students' enthusiasm in learning and students' understanding of learning materials was more optimal

Abstract

Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif untuk mengetahui miskonsepsi dan persentase miskonsepsi yang dialami peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 37 Pekanbaru (23 orang) dalam konsep materi aljabar pada April 2023. Lembar tes diagnostik Three Tier yang digunakan sudah valid dan layak digunakan. Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Tes diagnostik Three Tier yang diberikan terdiri atas 12 soal materi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan persentase data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat miskonsepsi dalam menentukan unsur-unsur aljabar.  Miskonsepsi dalam melakukan operasi aljabar yang dalam pengerjaannya siswa tetap melanjutkan perhitungan ketika variabel yang ditemukan tidak sejenis. Miskonsepsi dalam operasi perkalian dan pembagian terlihat dari kesulitan siswa dalam mengikuti tahapan penyelesaian yang panjang dalam operasinya. Miskonsepsi pemfaktoran bilangan aljabar dan substitusinya terlihat dari siswa yang kurang memahami proses pemfaktoran aljabar. Hal ini menyebabkan miskonsepsi siswa yang dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat dan motivasi serta pemahaman siswa yang masih minim.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan peserta didik dan guru dalam pengembangan modul ajar yang dapat memfasilitasi kecakapan komunikasi matematis peserta didik pada fase D kelas VII SMP/MTs pada topik persamaan dan pertidaksamaan linear satu variabel dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah melakukan wawancara kepada guru matematika kelas VII SMP/MTs dan soal tes kecakapan komunikasi matematis kepada peserta didik kelas VII SMP/MTs. Subjek pada penelitian ini sebanyak 34 peserta didik kelas VII SMP/MTs. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan analisis kurikulum, analisis peserta didik, dan analisis materi konsep atau topik. Hasil analisis yang dilakukan diperoleh informasi bahwa guru tidak melakukan pengembangan modul ajar dengan mandiri, guru masih menggunakan modul ajar dari internet dan rekan kerja. Kecakapan komunikasi matematis peserta didik masih tergolong rendah sehingga memerlukan analisis kebutuhan modul ajar yang dapat memfasilitasi kecakapan komunikasi matematis peseerta didik pada implemenasi kurikulum merdeka.Kata kunci: Implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka; Kecakapan Komunikasi Matematis; Modul Ajar;.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik masih menjadi persoalan bagi tenaga pendidik. Salah satu solusi yang dapat dilakukan adalah melakukan perbaikan proses pembelajaran, diantaranya dengan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dan inovasi pembelajarannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan perangkat ajar pada materi trigonometri berbasis model Problem Based Learning (PBL) untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas X SMK yang memenuhi valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sesuai dengan langkah-langkah model ADDIE, yaitu : Analisys, Design, Development, Implementation  dan Evaluations.  Instrumen  penelitian yang digunakan terdiri: angket validasi untuk melihat tingkat validitas perangkat pembelajaran, angket praktikalitas untuk melihat tingkat kepraktisan LKPD bagi siswa. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; (1) perangkat ajar berbasis model PBL dinyatakan sangat valid  artinya perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan layak digunakan untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa; (2) LKPD berbasis model PBL yang dikembangkan dinyatakan praktis, artinya LKPD yang dikembangkan sangat praktis digunakan untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Kata kunci: Perangkat Pembelajaran; Problem Based Learning; Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis

Abstract

Faktor yang melatarbelakangi dilaksanakan penelitian ini yaitu pentingnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis (KPMM), akan tetapi dalam prakteknya masih banyak ditemui siswa yang berkemampuan rendah dalam pemecahan masalah matematis. Maksud dari penelitian ini agar mampu memberikan gambaran terhadap pemecahan masalah matematis (KPMM) siswa dengan indikator memahami permasalahan, menyusun rencana pemecahan, melaksanakan rencana, dan melakukan pemeriksaan kembali. Metode yang digunakan ialah deskriptif kualitatif di mana subjeknya akan menggunakan siswa kelas VIII SMP Kecamatan Bukit Kapur berjumlah 60 orang. Instrumen penelitiannya berupa dua soal tes uraian. Untuk memperoleh informasi mendalam dilakukan wawancara terhadap tiga peserta didik yang kemampuannya heterogen dan dipilih dari seluruh siswa yang mengikuti tes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 23,67 persen siswa berkategori tinggi, 52,63 persen siswa berkategori sedang dan 23,7 persen siswa berkategori rendah. Rendahnya pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dipengaruhi oleh faktor kurangnya kemampuan memahami masalahsulit menentukan cara memecahkan masalah, sulit menentukan penggunaan rumus, sulit melakukan penyelesaian tahapan perhitungan, dan tidak pernah melakukan pengecekan kembali pada jawaban yang didapatkan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of the principal's leadership and infrastructure on the professionalism of teachers at SMK Negeri Pinggir, Bengkalis Regency. The background of this research is based on the description of the professionalism of teachers in Pinggir District State Vocational Schools that have not been maximized and other factors that influence teacher professionalism, namely the leadership of the principal and infrastructure. The type of research conducted is survey research with a quantitative research approach. The population in this study were all teachers of State Vocational High Schools located in the suburbs of Bengkalis Regency, amounting to 80 people who were divided into 2 State Vocational Schools in Pinggir District. While the sample of this study were all teachers of Pinggir State Vocational School, amounting to 80 people. Data collection techniques, namely documentation and questionnaires. Analysis of the data used is descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the study show that the leadership of the principal and infrastructure has a significant effect on the professionalism of teachers at State Vocational Schools, Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency. The magnitude of the influence between the variables of the principal's leadership and infrastructure on teacher professionalism was obtained at 40.77%. the remaining 59.3% is determined by other factors that are not part of this study.
