Abstract

Lip balm is a cosmetic preparation designed to help protect, nourish, and moisturize the lips. This study utilizes mangosteen peel extract (Garcinia mangostana L.), which is rich in antioxidants, as the active ingredient in lip balm formulations. The aim of the study is to evaluate the physical quality and antioxidant activity of five lip balm formulas containing varying concentrations of mangosteen peel extract (10%, 15%, 20%, 25%) and one comparison formula containing 10% vitamin C. Physical quality tests included organoleptic evaluation, homogeneity test, and pH measurement. In addition, antioxidant activity was assessed using the DPPH method, along with skin irritation and user preference tests. The results showed that all lip balm formulas exhibited good organoleptic characteristics and homogeneity, with pH values ranging from (4.5 to 6.5). Irritation tests revealed no negative skin reactions. User preference tests indicated that Formulas F3 and F4 were the most favored in terms of texture, aroma, and comfort of use. The highest antioxidant activity was observed in Formula F5 (IC₅₀ = 46.6 µg/mL), followed by F4 (64.3 µg/mL), F3 (101 µg/mL), F2 (112 µg/mL), and F1 (113 µg/mL). These findings demonstrate that mangosteen peel extract can be successfully formulated into lip balm products that meet physical quality standards and exhibit significant antioxidant activity. The formula containing 25% extract (F4) showed the most optimal overall performance among the tested formulations.

Abstract

Kapuk randu (Ceiba pentandra (L). Gaertn) is a plant that is widely found in Indonesia and has long been used in traditional medicine. The seeds of this plant are known to contain various secondary metabolite compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and phenolics that have the potential to be antioxidants. This study aims to identify the compounds contained in randu kapok seeds and evaluate their potential antioxidant activity. The research method involves the extraction of kapuk seeds using maceration with 70% ethanol solvent. Furthermore, qualitative phytochemical screening is carried out to identify groups of compounds such as alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, tannins, and phenolics. The antioxidant activity test was carried out using the DPPH method with concentration variations of 40, 80, 120, 160, and 200 ppm. The results of phytochemical screening showed that randu kapok seed extract was positive for alkaloid and flavonoid compounds. Antioxidant activity testing yielded an average IC50 value of 276.5 μg/mL. Based on categorization, the IC50 value indicates that randu kapuk seed extract has very weak antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition of blood pressure that is higher than normal, which can damage vital organs such as the heart, blood vessels, and kidneys. If left untreated, this condition increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, and death. The effectiveness of antihypertensive drugs is determined by their ability to lower blood pressure, generally 7–13 mmHg systole and 4–8 mmHg diastole to achieve blood pressure targets. This study aims to determine the rationality of anti-hypertension which is assessed in terms of the right dosage, indications, patients, and drugs at Telaga Medika Gubug Clinic. Abstract

Excess free radicals can trigger oxidative stress and contribute to degenerative diseases. Flavonoids, as natural antioxidants, neutralize free radicals and are therefore important in the development of functional beverages. This study aimed to evaluate sensory characteristics, panelist preference, and flavonoid content, and to determine the optimal formulation of tea bags containing green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis), lemongrass (Cymbopogon nardus), and ginger (Zingiber officinale). Four formulations were prepared: F1 (100% green tea), F2 (70:15:15), F3 (50:25:25), and F4 (30:35:35). Flavonoid content was determined by UV-Vis spectrophotometry, while sensory properties were assessed through organoleptic and hedonic tests. Panelists were aged 18–59 years, regular tea drinkers, with normal sensory ability, while exclusion criteria included pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergies, medication use. Results showed that F4 had the highest flavonoid content (49.397 ± 3.258 mg QE/L), followed by F3 (32.677 ± 3.703 mg QE/L), F2 (13.877 ± 1.960 mg QE/L), and F1 (11.117 ± 1.502 mg QE/L). Statistical analysis confirmed significant effects of formulation on flavonoid content and sensory attributes of color, aroma, and taste (p < 0.05). F4 was identified as the optimal formulation with superior flavonoid content and panelist acceptance.

Abstract

General elections (elections) are a benchmark for the success of democracy for countries that adhere to democratic principles such as Indonesia. The large number of hoax issues surrounding the election that are spread via social media are often considered cybercrime or cybercrime. Meanwhile, criminal law is currently developing discussions about Restorative Justice, which offers forms of settlement with the aim of fulfilling the wishes of the parties with a win-win solution. The legal issue analyzed in this research is how restorative justice policies apply in enforcing the law against perpetrators of spreading fake news (hoaxes) related to elections on social media to see the possibility of using alternative dispute resolution for election violations, especially at the police level. The method used in this research is normative juridical, using literature study and a statutory and regulatory approach related to the legal issue being discussed. This research shows that the Restorative Justice Policy against perpetrators of spreading fake news (hoaxes) taken by the Police is carried out to create a clean, healthy and productive Indonesian digital space so as not to give rise to diversity in investigative administration and differences in interpretations of investigators and irregularities must be carried out in a persuasive, educational manner. so that there is no suspicion of criminalization in the criminal act of spreading fake news (hoax) against the perpetrator or in other words the person being reported.

Abstract

Sharia Cooperatives are a form of cooperative that has principles, objectives and business activities based on Islamic Sharia, namely the Al-Qur'an and Assunah. The legal basis for establishing a sharia cooperative itself includes the following: Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 25 of 1992 concerning Cooperatives, PP No. 9 of 1995 concerning the Implementation of Savings and Loans Business Activities by Cooperatives, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Regulation No. 11/M.KUKM/XII/2017 concerning Implementation of Savings and Loans and Sharia Financing Business Activities by Cooperatives, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Regulation No. 35.2/Per/M.KUKM/X/2007 Concerning Guidelines. Cooperative Management Operational Standards. The problem that often arises in the practice of sharia cooperatives is the emergence of problematic financing or bad credit. Dispute resolution can be resolved in two ways, namely dispute resolution in court or outside court. Due to the negative impact of the emergence of problematic financing, it is necessary for the Community Service Team (PkM) to organize outreach and counseling with the theme "Increasing Community Understanding  Wonosalam Demak Regarding the Legal Basis and Sharia Cooperative Dispute Resolution”. This activity uses methods, namely, counseling, question and answer and discussion methods.
