Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the form of kinship words, (2) the form of non-kinship greeting words, (3) the use of kinship words, and (4) the use of non-kinship greeting words in the Minangkabau language in Nagari Koto Sani District X Koto Singkarak Solok Regency used by speakers in everyday life. This study includes the type of qualitative research with descriptive methods. Sources of data from this study are oral sources from the people of Nagari Koto Sani District X Koto Solok Regency. The focus of this research is the Minangkabau language greeting in Nagari Koto Sani District X Koto Singkarak Solok Regency. Data collection is done by using the refer and proficient method. The steps in this study are transcribing the recorded data into written language, identifying data in accordance with the aspects studied, classifying research data by creating tables based on the aspects studied, interpreting data, and concluding data based on the results of the study. The results obtained in this study are First, the greeting of the nuclear family with 48 greeting words and broad family kinship words with 64 greeting words. Second, the word non-friendship greeting said non-religious friendship words there are 12 words of greeting, the word non-traditional friendship greeting there are 8 words of greeting, the word non-friendship address is 14 greeting words, and the word non-general address greetings are 15 greeting words.Keywords : kata sapaan, bahasa Minangkabau, Nagari Koto Sani

Abstract

The purposes of this study to describe the description of the life of bundo kanduang in Minangkabau in Limpapeh's novel by A.R. Rizal is seen from the properties, duties and responsibilities, as well as the role of the bundo kanduang in Limpapeh's novel by A.R. Rizal. This research type is qualitative research by using descriptive method. Based on the results of research and discussion can be concluded that a bundo kanduang must be a role model in life so it must have some properties, such as true, clever, articulate, and has the nature of shame. Furthermore, in the life of a bundo kanduang must perform duties and obligations, such as manuruik alua nan luruih, manampuah nan pasa, mamaliharo harato jo pusako, and mamaliharo child and nephew. Then in his life, a bundo kanduang has two roles: the role of domestic (in the family) and the public role (according to the profession and position).Keywords: bundo kanduang, Minangkabau, Limpapeh

Abstract

The purpose of this article to describe structure and culture value Minangkabau in document Pasambahan Batagak Pangulu. The data of this structure and culture value Minangkabau in document Pasambahan Batagak Pangulu. Analyzed technique do with analysis descriptive and content analysis. The findings of the study is opening obeisance by si pangka and si alek, obeisance statement si pangka and si alek, intention delivery si pangka, obeisance terminate si pangka, confirmation si pangka and si alek, suspension while si pangka and si alek, opening obeisance si alek and si pangka, statement obeisance si alek and si pangka, delivery repeated intention si alek and si pangka, confirmation si alek and si pangka, offering answer and obeisance terminate si alek and si pangka, adaptation si pangka and si alek. Culture value Minangkabau which be contained is humility value and respect for other, agreement value and consensus, fidelity value and accuracy, submissive value and obedient to the custome, the nature of human life, nature of human work, human nature against time, and human nature to nature.

Abstract

This research purposed to describe (1) forms of word “Penyukat”  (2) to clasify the using the word  “penyukat” in Minangkabaunese language at Nagari Sungai Geringging Padang Pariaman district. This research is qualitative research by using descriptive methode. This research’s subject is the word “penyukat” in Minangkabaunese language at Nagari Sungai Geringging Padang Pariaman district. The data which been taken analyzed by following  steps: (1) transcripted the data from many resources into writing text, which is form recorded data, interview and observation. (2) to clasify the form of word “Penyukat” into Minangkabaunese language, (3)  to analysis which match with the purpose of research (4) to formulating the result of the research. There are two results from this research. First, according the form, the word “penyukat”  in Minangkabaunese language which used by people at Nagari Sungai Geringging can be divided into two kinds, (a) the word “Penyukat” in basic form, (b) the word “penyukat “ in complex  form.  The word “penyukat”   in complex  form divided in two kinds, the word “ penyukat “ with afixes and the word “penyukat “  composition. The word  “peyukat” with afixes consist of  two infix, the afixes which ending with –an and afixes by combining ba-/-an. Second, according the clasification of using the word “penyukat “ in  Minangkabaunese language in Nagari Sungai Geringging Padang Pariaman district was found three forms of using, they are : (1) the word “penyukat” for human, (2) the word “ penyukat”  for animal,(3) the word “penyukat” for noun which classified in general and specifically.Keywords:  quantifier, minang language, form

Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) describes the types of pronouns, (2) describes the categorization of pronouns with nouns, and (3) describes the nature of the reconciliation of pronouns in the short story anthology Gonjong 2: Family Portrait. The data of this research are sentences in which there is pronoun. The type and method used in this research is qualitative research with descriptive method. The source of this research data is the written source of the short story anthology Gonjong 2: Family Portrait. The data in this study were collected through the following steps: (1) reading all the short stories that are the source of the data, (2) mark the sentences in which there is pronouns, and (3) records to the data inventory format. Based on data analysis found three research results. First, found three types of pronouns, that is (1) the first single pronoun me, me, my-, me, me and your second pronouns we, us, (2) second single pronouns you, you, lu, you, you and the pronouns of both plural, you and (3) single third pronouns he, he, his, her and pronomina third plural they. Second, found two types of pronoun categorization relationships with nouns, that is (1) pronoun takrif me, me, me, you, you, you, you, you, he, he, his, his, they and (2) pronoun taktakrif who, respectively, and own. Third, two pronominal reference properties are found, that is (1) intrathexual pronouns and (2) extratectual pronouns.Keywords: pronouns, defined, not defined, intratextual, extratextual

Abstract

This research aims to describe the form of social class, the causes of social class conflict, and the impact of social class conflict in novel Orang-orang Pulau by Giyan. Data in this research are sentences, direct speeches of characters and author narratives that can be interpreted as social class. Source of data in this research is novel Orang-orang Pulau by Giyan which published for the first time by Beranda in December 2013. This research is a qualitative research and using descriptive analysis method. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the social indicators in novel Orang-orang Pulau by Giyan are: (1) the form of social class, it can be seen in terms of economi, ie upper class, middle class, lower class. In terms of social status, ie upper class, middle class, lower class. And in terms of political status, ie upper class, middle class, and lower class; (2) the causes of social class conflict because of social change, there are differences in cultural patterns, and there are differences in social status that leads to rebellion between upper and lower classes; And (3) the impact of social class conflict, ie strengthened sense of solidarity group, the destruction of groups, loss of property and human sacrifice, the destruction of existing values and social norms, and the change of individual personality.Keywords: social class, conflict, and the causes of conflict

Abstract

The research was done because of the heterogeneous of Indonesian society which create the varieties of language insed in daily life. It is known as jargon. Let’s see the jargon used by plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun subdistrict Koto Tangah Padang, West Sumatera in their daily activities, especially in doing transaction of trading. They have special vocabularies called jargon. The purpose of this research is (1) to describe the form jargon used by plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun sub district Koto Tangah Padang West Sumatera. (2) To describe the meaning of jargon used by plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun subdistrict Koto Tangah Padang, West Sumatera. This research is a qualitative research that produces a descriptive data. It means the data analyzed and the result of the analysis is in a descriptive form, not in form of numeral of the efficiency of the relationship between variables. In this research, the data was taken from the daily conversation among the plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun by using listen method (record based technique). Based on the research about jargon in the trading transaction among the plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun sub district Koto Tangah Padang, West Sumatera, jargon can be classified into form and meaning. (1) Form, it can be words, phrases, or clauses. The word in jargon can be verbs, nouns, or adjectives. Phrases in jargon can be verb phrases, noun phrases, or adjective phrases. (2) Meaning, it has the lexical meaning and contextual meaning.Keywords : Jargon, Sellers, Plant, Trading transaction, Lubuk Minturun.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the pair of synonyms and nuances of the meaning of the pair of synonyms of the Indonesian mental attitude adjective. This research is qualitative research using the descriptive method. The data of this study are the basic adjectives of the inner attitude of Indonesian. The results of this study indicate that (1) there are 26 pairs of Indonesian mental attitude adjectives that are proven to be synonymous and (2) all pairs of Indonesian mental attitude adjectives that prove synonymous with meaning nuances. Not all Indonesian mental attitude adjectives that have synonym and most synonymous pairs are adjunctive nuances of meaning on cognitive meaning anda a small part of emotive menaing.

Abstract

Beberapa penelitian tentang sinonim sudah pernah dilakukan, namun belum memberikan penjelasan secara tuntas tentang nuansa makna sinonim verba transitif berimbuhan meng-kan bermakna inheren perbuatan dalam bahasa Indonesia. Artikel ini ditulis untuk menjelaskan nuansa makna sinonim verba transitif berimbuhan meng-kan bermakna inheren perbuatan dalam bahasa Indonesia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Data penelitian ini berupa kalimat bahasa Indonesia yang berisi sinonim verba transitif berimbuhan meng-kan yang bermakna inheren perbuatan. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah koran nasional Padang Ekspress, majalah Femina, surat undangan pernikahan,dan acara talkshow Mata Najwa di Metro TV tahun 2017. Peneliti bertindak sebagai instrumen penelitian dan dibantu dengan alat berupa format penelitian untuk pencatatan dan penganalisisan data.Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pencatatan dokumen, teknik sadap, dan teknik introspeksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 27 data yang diperoleh, secara keseluruhan pasangan sinonim verba transitif berimbuhan meng-kan bermakna inheren perbuatan dalam bahasa Indonesia adalah bernuansa makna. Oleh karena itu, sinonim tersebut hanya dapat menggantikan dalam konteks tertentu saja. Sehubung dengan itu, disarankan kepada penutur bahasa Indonesia memperdalam pemahaman tentang nuansa makna pasangan sinonim verba transitif berimbuhan meng-kan bermakna inheren perbuatan agar dapat menggunakan verba tersebut secara tepat dalam kegiatan berbahasa.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan siswa dalam menulis narasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan proses peningkatan keterampilan menulis narasi dengan berbantuan media audiovisual. Penelitian ini dilakukan dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas tiga kali pertemuan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX.1 yang berjumlah 19 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap pada setiap siklusnya, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Perencanaan meliputi perencanaan yang dilakukan sebelum tindakan dilaksanakan seperti menyiapkan RPP, bahan ajar, media, dan penilaian. Pelaksanaan tindakan adalah aktivitas pembelajaran keterampilan menulis narasi berbantuan media audiovisual. Observasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dan angket. Refleksi yakni melakukan evaluasi terhadap kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan. Data kualitatif diolah dengan model kualitatif (reduksi, penyajian, dan pengambilan kesimpulan), sedangkan data kuantitatif yaitu data hasil belajar  diolah melalui statistik sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan berbantuan media audiovisual dalam pembelajaran menulis narasi  dapat meningkatkan aktivitas siswa yang dilihat dari proses dan keterampilan siswa yang dilihat dari nilai akhir siklus. Peningkatan hasil belajar juga mengalami kenaikan setiap siklus. Hasil penelitian tindakan siklus I menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 15 siswa (78,95%) mendapatkan nilai di atas KKM dengan nilai rata-rata 63. Pada tindakan siklus kedua diperoleh hasil sebanyak 19 siswa (100%) mendapatkan nilai di atas KKM dengan nilai rata-rata 69. Ini merupakan suatu peningkatan proses dan hasil pembealajaran selama penelitian tindakan kelas ini berlangsung. Dari data yang diperoleh melalui tindakan kedua siklus tersebut, diperoleh suatu simpulan bahwa dengan menggunakan media audiovisual dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis narasi  siswa.   Kata kunci : Membaca; Narasi; Audiovisual.
