Abstract

Sebagian besar masyarakat RT 05 Kuburjaran, Dusun Bunsambang Desa Sukarara berkativitas sebagai petani sekaligus sebagai peternak (terutama adalah peternak sapi).  Sistem pemeliharaan ternak sapi adalah dikandangkan di lokasi rumah masing-masing. Oleh karena itu, produksi limbah kotoran sapi menumpuk di setiap lahan perumahan masing-masing warga, sehingga lingkungan sekitar rumah terkena imbas limpahan kotoran sapi. Selama ini belum pernah ada upaya penanganannya kecuali dibuang di sekitar pekarangan rumah kemudian dibakar dimusim kemarau, hanya sebagian kecil masyarakat yang memanfaatkannya untuk pupuk. Pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, tim pengabdian memberikan pengetahuan dan pelatihan singkat tentang pengolahan limbah kotoran sapi menjadi bokashi. Bokashi adalah bahan organik yang telah difermentasikan oleh aktivator bakteri pengurai yang terkemas dalam EM4. Produk bokashi yang dihasilkan dapat secara langsung dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk tanaman pertanian. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan masyarakat RT 05 Kuburjaran Dusun Bunsambang Sukarara Jonggat Lombok Tengah dengan bekal pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pengolahan limbah kotoran sapi menjadi bokashi, tidak hanya dapat memelihara kebersihan dan kesehatan lingkungan di sekitar tempat tinggal mereka tetapi juga dapat secara terus menerus memproduksi dan menggunakan bokashi sebagai pupuk sehingga pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan produksi pertaniannya mereka.

Abstract

Mitra kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah anggota Kelompok Tani Saling Tulung yang terletak Di Desa Mertak Tombok Kecamatan Peraya Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. Anggota Kelompok Tani Saling Tulung Memiliki usaha sampingan yaitu beternak itik, kambing dan sapi. Kegiatan peternakan menghasikan sampah kotoran ternak yang dibuang ke sungai. Pembuangan kotoran ternak ke sungai berdampak negatif yaitu dapat menyebabkan tercemarnya air sungai dan air tanah yang pada akhirnya dapat mencemari air sumur masyarakat sekitar. Dalam upaya membantu masyarakat memecahkan masalah tersebut maka dilakukan pengabdian pada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk: (1) melakukan pendampingan kepada anggota Kelompok Tani Saling Tulung dalam melakukan pengolahan  kotoran itik, kambing dan kotoran sapi menjadi bokashi. (2) melakukan pendampingan kepada anggota Kelompok Tani Saling Tulung dalam melakukan pemupukan tanaman menggunakan bokashi untuk meningkatkan hasil panen tanaman. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah: (1) anggota Kelompok Tani Saling Tulung memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang teknik pengolahan sampah organik khususnya kotoran sapi, kotoran itik dan kotoran kambing  menjadi bokhasi, (2) anggota Kelompok Tani Saling Tulung memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang teknik pemupukan tanaman menggunakan bokashi, (3) Anggota Kelompok Tani Saling Tulung memiliki respons yang baik terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini, mereka berkeinginan untuk moncoba memanfaatkan sampah peternakan terutama kotoran ternak yang ada disekitarnya sebagai bahan baku pembuatan bokashi.

Abstract

Sebagai salah satu pemangku kepentingan (stakeholders) perguruan tinggi, kiprah alumni dapat memberikan  kontribusi tentang berbagai hal nyata yang diperlukan masyarakat. Kegiatan sosialisasi Pengisian Basis Data Alumni Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Mataram telah dilakukan tehadap alumni yang berasal dari 5 KabupateN Kota di Pulau Lombok. Kegiatan ini sekaligus untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang profil alumni Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Mataram. Hasil kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa pekerjaan sebagai guru masih mendominasi profesi alumni Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Mataram. Selain guru, profesi/pekerjaan lain alumni Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Mataram adalah dosen, karyawan swasta, wiraswasta, dan mengikuti studi lanjut. Masa tunggu alumni Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Mataram tekonsentrasi pada durasi 1-2 tahun setelah tamat, namun sebagian besar alumni juga telah mulai bekerja ketika masih berstatus sebagai mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil ini, disarankan agar mahasiswa yang akan menamatkan studinya di Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Mataram harus menuliskan alamatnya secara lengkap pada biodata lulusan, temasuk menuliskan alat surat elektronik (e-mail); pihak kampus harus memperkuat jaringan alumni yang sudah tebentuk selama ini melalui Ikatan Alumni FKIP Universitas Mataram; dan optimalisasi peran Pusat Karir di Universitas Mataram perlu ditingkatkan.

Abstract

Kegiatan praktikum dalam pembelajaran biologi sangat penting dan tingginya harapan yang digantungkan terhadap praktikum untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran, maka kegiatan praktikum harus dapat dilaksanakan dengan maksimal. Namun, kenyataannya pelaksanaan praktikum tidak sesuai dengan harapan. Hal ini dikarenakan kendala yang muncul dari berbagai aspek. Oleh karena itu, perlu untuk mengkaji pelaksanaan praktikum biologi secara mendalam. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran pelaksanaan praktikum biologi di kelas XI SMAN 1 Praya Timur tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Populasi dalam penelitian terdiri dari 91 siswa kelas XI MIA SMAN 1 Praya Timur. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu sampel total. Data diperoleh melalui angket, observasi, dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman, yang terdiri dari 3 tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indikator minat siswa terhadap praktikum, waktu pelaksanaan praktikum, tahap pelaksanaan praktikum, dan tahap penutup termasuk kategori baik. Kemudian, indikator kondisi laboratorium termasuk kategori cukup dan indikator tahap persiapan praktikum termasuk kategori sangat baik. Secara keseluruhan, pelaksanaan praktikum Biologi di kelas XI SMAN 1 Praya Timur termasuk kategori baik.

Abstract

Madak is looking for or hunting marine biota that can be consumed or has high economic value. Madak's activities can still threaten the existence of species on Mandalika Beach, one of which is Gastropods. This research focuses on the diversity of gastropod species that live in seagrass beds at Mandalika Beach. This study aims to identify the abundance and analyze the diversity index, uniformity index and dominance index of gastropod species in seagrass ecosystems on the Mandalika coast. This type of research is included in the type of descriptive-explorative research. This study describes the diversity of gastropod species in seagrass ecosystems on Mandalika Beach. The testing procedure utilized purposive examining. The research was conducted at 3 stations with 3 transects at each station. The results showed 27 species and 15 families of Gastropods. The species abundance value was 0.796 ind/m2, the species diversity index value was 1.849, the uniformity index value was 0.686, and the dominance index value was 0.280.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan budidaya cacing tanah (Lumbricus Rubellus) di Desa Giri Tembesi Kecamatan Gerung, Lombok Barat adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada warga terkait dengan pemanfaatan limbah kotoran sapi sebagai pakan cacing tanah (Lumbricus Rubellus) serta meminimalisisr pencemaran lingkungan dari limbah kotoran sapi. Pengolahan limbah kotoran sapi dapat memberikan manfaat kepada warga desa sekaligus diharapkan output dari budidaya cacing tanah (Lumbricus Rubellus) dapat menjadi produk khusus Desa Giri Tembesi. Oleh karena itu, metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan dengan cara sosialisasi dan pelatihan sehingga dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan langsung terkait dengan cara budidaya cacing.

Abstract

Sardinella lemur is a pelagic fish with the most population in Indonesia, precisely in the Bali Strait. This study aims to determine the reproductive lemurs of lemurs fish (S. lemur) that landed at PPI Tanjung Luar East Lombok as enrichment material for zoology subjects. This research was conducted in January-March 2023, taking place in Tanjung Luar, East Lombok. This study used lemurs fish (S. lemurs) with a total sample of 188 individuals, 56 females, and 132 males. This research is included in the quantitative descriptive research with PCAS sampling. Data was collected by measuring body length, weighing body weight, calculating sex, classifying TKG, and analyzing GMI. It is estimated that the lemurs spawn in April-June with reference to TKG and IKG. TKG analysis by observing the morphology and weighing the gonad weight of the fish while the IKG compares the gonad weight and body weight multiplied by 100%. The TKG found ranged from TKG I to TKG V with the dominant sex being male. The highest TKG was found in March for females who were pregnant while TKG for males with developed gonads. From the results of the data analysis, the highest female sex index was obtained in February 3.5% and the lowest was in March 0.3% male. The results of observations of the highest average body length of lemurs fish were in February at 15.75 cm and the lowest in March at 15.04 cm. Based on the body weight of lemurs fish, the highest was in February at 33.03 gr and the lowest was in Marat ch 30.63 gr. Based on the results of the research and discussion it can be concluded that lemurs fish in the waters of Tanjung Luar, gonads mature for lemurs fish in March and are expected to spawn from April to June.

Abstract

The teaching campus (kampus mengajar) is part of the Independent Learning Independent Campus (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka), MBKM program which provides opportunities for students to provide teaching assistance in basic education units. This study aims to analyze the responses of Biology Education Study Program students at FKIP, University of Mataram to the teaching campus. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method, with sample in this study were 57 students participating in campus teaching batches 2, 3, 4, and 5. The results showed that students’ responses to the teaching campus from agree to disagree were obtained with 37.65% positive responses, 29.82% neutral responses and 33.3% negative responses. Student responses in indicators of knowledge about the teaching campus (42.11%) were positive, (29.82%) neutral, (17.54%) negative, and (10.53%) very negative. Student responses to the teaching campus activity indicator (33.33%) were positive, (36.84%) neutral, (24.56%) negative, and (5.26%) very negative. Student responses to the benefits of the teaching campus indicators (10.53%) were very positive, (19.30%) positive, (47.37%) neutral, (17.54%) negative, and (5.26%) very negative. This shows that most students respond positively to the teaching campus program, because through the teaching campus students get teaching experience, understand the context related to education, and can develop soft skills by doing activities directly in the community and developing creativity to make new innovations to create independent learning.

Abstract

Harvesting gastropods and other intertidal biota during lowest tides called Madak, is a traditional activity of coastal community on the Lombok Island. The Madak tradition has the potential to be used as a biology learning resource in schools. Variations in the size of Gastropods can be used as a source of studying population ecology. The present study aimed to describe quantitatively Gastropoda populations harvested during the madak. This study was carried out by collecting snail Turbo setosus and Strombus labiatus shells harvested in the intertidal area of ​​Serinting Beach. Convenience sampling was applied to collect data from 5 people in 5 days. There were 120 individuals of T. setosus and 240 individuals of S. labiatus collected from 25 rads with varying shell sizes. The shell size of T. setosus ranges from 3.32 to 7.19 cm, which is then divided into 8 classes. The average size of the harvested shells was 5.08 cm with a standard deviation of 1.96 cm, which means that the distribution of the data obtained was less varied. The size of S. labiatus shells ranges from 2.40-4.78 cm which is then divided into 9 classes. The average size of harvested shells was 3.48cm with a standard deviation of 0.92 cm, which means that the distribution of the data obtained is less varied. The population structures of T. setosus and S. labiatus harvested were less diverse, so further research is needed to determine the population structure of T. setosus and S. labiatus found in nature.

Abstract

The intertidal area is utilized by coastal communities to collect intertidal biota during low tides, which is called “madak. Madak culture is also practiced by the people of Sumbawa. One of the groups of animals taken during madak are Gastropods and Bivalves from the Phylum Mollusca. Gastropods and Bivalves have many benefits for coastal communities. One of the direct benefits of Gastropods and Bivalves for society is consumption. This research focuses on the diversity that leads to the taxonomy of Gastropods and Bivalves caught by fishmen in the intertidal zone of Serinting Beach.The present study aims to analyze the diversity of Gastropods and Bivalves harvested during madak, to develop identification keys for harvested Gastropods and Bivalves, and to identify the amount of exploitation of Gastropods and Bivalves in madak. This study used a descriptive method of quantitative approach by purchasing Gastropods and Bivalves harvested by 5 madak-women in 5 days convenience (convenience sampling) The results found 5 orders, 11 families, and 28 species from 715 individuals of Gastropoda, while 2 orders, 3 families, and 4 species from 69 individuals of Bivalvia. Madak Gastropods and bivalves were used to develop identification keys. It was estimated that the number of Gastropods exploited was 3.348,4 individuals and bivalves were 351,6 individuals 1 per month.
