Abstract

Research was conducted in order to determine the diversity of species and habitat zonation of Echinodermata in Semerang coastal waters East Lombok. The field survey was conducted using transects kuadrad and free collection during March to June 2013. Based on the results, in the Semerang Coast was found 26 species of Echinoderm which consist of Echinoidea (13 species), Asteroidea (7 species), Ophiuroidea (3 species ) and Holothuroidea (3 species). Echinoderms habitat in Semerang divided into 5 zones, consist of reef flat, sand, seagrass beds, rubble, and coral reefs. Diversity index values differ in each habitat. Shannon - Wiener index (Hꞌ) were largest on coral reef habitats (H ꞌ = 2.59 )and then followed by sand (H ꞌ = 2.30), rubble (H ꞌ = 2.17), seagrass (H ꞌ = 1, 93) and the reef flat (H ꞌ = 1.48). Greatest Evenness index was found in the sand habitat (E = 0.96) followed by a reef flat (E = 0.92), coral reefs (E = 0.86), rubble (E = 0.75) and seagrass beds (E = 0.67). the largest found Margalef Index (R), was found in coral reef habitats (R = 5.02) and then followed by rubble (R = 4.07), sand (R = 3.79), seagrass bed (R = 3.62) and reef flat (R = 1.41). Class of Echinoidea has found in all zones, Asteroidea and Holothuroidea not found on the reef flat zone while Ophiuroidea only found in the rubble and the coral reef zone.

Abstract

Ikan cakalang (Katsuwonus pelamis) bagian ikan pelagis besar yang ada di perairan Samudra Hindia-Selatan Jawa. Intensitas penangkapannya yang tinggi berpotensi memengaruhi dinamika populasi ikan cakalang. Perubahan dinamika populasi tersebut, dapat diketahui dengan melihat struktur ukuran dan reproduksinya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji kondisi struktur ukuran dan reproduksi Ikan cakalang selama Desember 2014–Maret 2015. Analisis data terdiri atas sebaran frekuensi panjang, cohort, hubungan panjang berat, serta rasio kelamin dan fase kematangan gonad. Hasil penelitiaan diperoleh bahwa rasio kelamin jantan dan betina adalah 1:1,4 (tidak seimbang), tingkat kematangan gonad terjadi pada ukuran 388 mm. Rata-rata ukuran matang gonad pada ukuran 439,40 mm dan dominan tertangkap pada ukuran 349,5 mm. Ikan yang dominan tertangkap memiliki hubungan panjang berat yang bersifat isometrik didominasi ikan muda dan belum matang gonad (unmature). Untuk itu, diperlukan strategi pemanfatan yang memperhatikan asas kehati-hatian (precautionary) dalam penangkapan di area dan musim penangkapan

Abstract

Ikan layur merupakan salah satu hasil tangkapan perikanan Teluk Palabuhanratu yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui status populasi dan stok ikan layur (Trichiurus lepturus). Pola pertumbuhan ikan layur bersifat isometrik kecuali bulan Juli bersifat alometrik negatif. Ukuran pertama kali matang gonad ikan layur adalah 580,18 mm pada jantan dan 688,53 mm pada betina. Hasil tangkapan maksimum lestari dan upaya optimum adalah 113,91 ton dan 132 trip per tahun. Parameter populasi dugaan menunjukkan bahwa ikan layur di Teluk Palabuhanratu mengalami eksploitasi berlebih. Upaya pengelolaan yang dapat dilakukan adalah pembatasan upaya penangkapan dan penerapan alat tangkap yang ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

A total of 806 fish samples were collected from the catch of local fishermen. The sex ratio of Pomadasys argyreus was 1:0,90. Four stages of gonadal development were observed in males and females, which dominated by stage I and II (immature). The highest gonadosomatic index (GSI) in males was 1,14 in September, while in females was 1,80 in May. Length at first maturity of Pomadasys argyreus was 140,12 mm for males and 135,01 mm for females. The highest value of condition factor was 1,05 for males and 1,10 for females. This fish spawn partially (partial spawner) and estimated spawns throughout the year with a spawning peak in June.

Abstract

Prediksi musim dan tingkat pemanfaatan sumberdaya ikan di perairan Selat Sunda sangat penting untuk mengontrol eksploitasi yang berlebih. Untuk itu pendekatan berbasis agen (agent based approach) dari perubahan musim dan faktor input lainnya terhadap perilaku nelayan perlu dikaji. Penelitian dilakukan di Lempasing dari nelayan yang menangkap di Selat Sunda dengan teknik purposive sampling terhadap nelayan agen (purse seine) dan nelayan nonagen (non purse seine) dengan software Poseidon 1.0. Pola musim penangkapan ikan pada musim timur, daerah penangkapan nelayan agen semakin lama akan semakin mengecil dikarenakan faktor alam dan juga kenaikan harga solar. Nilai produksi dari nelayan agen mengalami penurunan diakibatkan adanya ketidakseimbangan harga yang jual ikan. Pengaruh produksi terhadap pembentukan harga tidak terlalu berpengaruh dan relative linier. Analisis agent based model memberikan gambaran strategi berupa pengaturan upaya penangkapan, konsumsi bahan bakar, dan pendapatan terhadap nelayan agen kaitannya dengan perubahan harga solar.

Abstract

Bycatch tuna is an important commercial fish commodity in the Indian Ocean tuna fishery. Tuna bycatch fishing activity also has an impact on the decline in stocks, making it vulnerable and potentially unsustainable. This study aims to analyze the level of vulnerability of tuna side-caught fish, which was conducted in Sendangbiru Malang in July 2013. Vulnerability analysis using the Euclidean distance approach with productivity and susceptability data using PSA software. The catch of bycacth tuna is skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis), lemadang fish (Coryphaena hippurus), baby tuna (Thunnus albacores). The results of the vulnerability analysis showed that the level of vulnerability obtained was 1.66 for baby tuna, 1.27 for lemadang and 1.42 for skipjack. Overall, the vulnerability index value is still low from 1.8 where the stock is classified as low susceptibility and the potential for tuna bycatch is still potentially sustainable and does not lead to overfishing.

Abstract

Kestabilan dan keberlanjutan suatu sistem sosial ekologi di Kota Pesisir tergantung dari optimal dan efisiennya pemanfaatan energi sumber daya yang tersedia. Siklus autokatalitik dalam metabolisme kota pesisir memberikan gambaran nyata bagaimana energi sumber daya mengalir antara manusia dan sumberdaya alam dan bagaimana manusia mengatur dan memanfaatkan energi sumberdaya alam yang tersedia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memodelkan siklus energi dan meterial dalam batas sistem kota pesisir yang mengakomodir semua sumberdaya alam yang menghasilkan energi yang dimiliki Kota Makassar dalam rentang waktu tertentu, sehingga mampu menunjukkan trend pemanfaatan dan keberlanjutan sistem dalam upaya menstabilkan diri terhadap dinamika penggunaan lahan dan pertumbuhan penduduk. Metode penelitian yang digunakan didasarkan pada konsep perhitungan aliran emergy dan indeks penilaian keberlanjutan metabolisme kota pesisir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total emergy yang mengalir di tahun 2001 sebesar 1,68E+21 Sej, meningkat menjadi 2,02E+21 Sej pada tahun 2015. Hasil analisis indeks keberlanjutan menunjukkan bahwa energi sumberdaya lokal sudah tidak mampu memenuhi kebutuhan energy masyarakat Kota Makassar, dan untuk memenuhi ketercukupan energi dalam sistem, input energi berupa impor sumberdaya mendominasi aliran energi dalam sistem. Tentunya diperlukan efisiensi dalam pemanfaatan energi sumberdaya, agar keberlanjutan metabolisme kota pesisir dapat terus berlangsung.

Abstract

Aims: This study aims to assess the value sustainable development opportunity of the coral reef fisheries activities in Indonesia from the ecological, economic, and social aspect, with a case study of coral reef fisheries at the coastal area of Ternate Island, using the Sustainability Window (SuWi) approach. Methodology and Results: The data was collected from statistical data from relevant institutions and literature study, which consists of ecological, economic and social data, and analyzed using the Sustainability Window approach to determine the sustainability of the fisheries development. The result shows that the Sustainability Window of the coral reef fisheries in the research area tends to move towards sustainable development, where the national policy in catch fisheries management has an impact on the sustainable development and management of coral reef fisheries at the coastal area of Ternate Island. Conclusion, significance and impact study: The Sustainability Window of coral reef fisheries at the coastal area of Ternate Island tends to move towards sustainable processes, with the width of sustainability window that not too narrow to the coral reef fisheries activities at the provincial and national levels. This condition attaches strings to a precautionary approach in policy decision for the management process, and consideration to the effect that can result from the development policy, both at the provincial and national level. The use of Sustainability Windows approach can provide a new simple way for assessing whether the development has been towards a more sustainable direction or not.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguraikan estimasi daya dukung lingkungan perairan terhadap kegiatan budidaya. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu estimasi limbah organik dan pendugaan daya dukung perairan. Jenis ikan yang dibudidayakan yaitu ikan kerapu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa beban limbah dari kegiatan budidaya sebesar 1.04 kg N/hari/ unit. Estimasi beban limbah antropogenik yaitu 20.56 kg N/hari. Berdasarkan pendekatan beban limbah N, daya dukung lingkungan perairan Pulau Semak Daun terhadap kegiatan budidaya adalah 114 unit keramba jaring apung. Diasumsikan satu unit keramba jaring apung menghasilkan 300 kg ikan, maka diperoleh 28.2 ton produksi ikan yang dapat ditampung.

Abstract

Scientific information mangrove ecosystem at Kulisusu bay was limited. This study aims to identify mangrove ecosystems area change at Kulisusu bay within 20 years periods (1995-2015) using satellite imagery Landsat 5 TM (1995), Landsat 7 ETM (2005) and Landsat 8 OLI (2015). Analysis of the mangrove ecosystem changes was used NDVI algorithm then carried classification canopy density by three classes, high, medium and low density.The changes of mangrove ecosystems were based on the area changes of each 10 year. The NDVI results shown that on 1995 to 2005, high and medium classes were reduced respectively by 340 ha and 36 ha, low class area was 172 ha. The period within 2005 to 2015 shows that high areas were reduced by 756 hectares, then medium and low density class 22 Ha and 680 ha respectively. Conditions mangrove ecosystem during 30 years was from 1995 to 2015 shown that had been a heavy reduction in the high density class about 1096 hectares, a reduction of medium density class was 14 hectares and low class was 852 Ha. The amount of reduction in high density class was caused by the mangrove logging activities for charcoal used as raw materials, and fisherman activities likes boat lines for crab fishing ground in the mangrove ecosystem.
