Abstract

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of understanding of Phase B Grade III elementary school students in Pancasila education, particularly in the material on the meaning of the values of Pancasila. Preliminary studies suggest that some students struggle to comprehend the meaning and values of Pancasila. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of using the problem-based learning model in improving students' understanding of the values embodied in the Pancasila principles in elementary school. The research approach employed is a quantitative method, utilizing a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study consists of 23 students in phase B at one elementary school in Sukajadi District, Bandung City. The instrument used is a written test with essay-type questions. The data analysis used includes normality tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis tests, and N-Gain tests. The analysis results showed that the average post-test scores increased from the average pre-test scores, from 55.35 to 81.43. Based on the hypothesis test, the significance value was 0.001 < 0.05, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, meaning that there was a significant improvement in conceptual understanding ability. Based on the N-Gain test, an N-Gain score of 0.5757 was obtained, meaning the N-Gain score falls under the “moderate” criterion. Meanwhile, the N-Gain percentage shows a value of 57.5673, which is greater than 55, indicating that the PBL learning model is sufficiently effective in enhancing students' conceptual understanding in Phase B of elementary school.

Abstract

Increasingly integrated global developments require every individual to possess global competencies, including prospective elementary school teachers who must be able to educate students to become knowledgeable, tolerant, and responsible global citizens who are able to adapt to globalization. However, various studies indicate that the global competency of university students in Indonesia is still relatively low. This study aims to describe the actual condition of global competencyamong elementary school teacher education students. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with elementary school teacher education students as respondents. The research instrument includes three main components of global competency: knowledge, skills, and attitudes/values, which are developed based on four dimensions of global competence. However, in this article, the focus is only on discussing the knowledge component of the global competency of elementary school teacher education students. The results of the study indicate that the knowledge component of the global competency of students still tends to be low. These findings indicate the need for learning innovation, whether in the form of developing learning models or using media and other things that can improve the knowledge component, among elementary school teacher education students in facing global challenges

Abstract

Communication skills are one of the basic abilities that must be developed since elementary school because they play a crucial role in the learning process and social interactions at school. However, in reality, many elementary school students still experience difficulties in expressing ideas, expressing opinions, and actively participating in learning activities. This condition was also found at SDN Taman, Kibin District, where some students demonstrated suboptimal communication skills. This study aims to analyze the level of communication skills of fifth grade students at SDN Taman, Kibin District. The type of research used was descriptive quantitative with a sample of 52 students. The research instrument was an observation sheet based on four indicators of communication skills according to Budiono and Abdurrohman (2020), namely the ability to listen well, express ideas and thoughts effectively, convey information clearly, and provide responses to the opinions of others. The results showed that students' overall communication skills were in the sufficient category with an average score of 60%. Two indicators that achieved good results were listening and responding skills, while the other two indicators, expressing ideas and conveying information, remained in the sufficient categories. Based on these results, it is recommended that teachers implement learning models that encourage interaction, discussion, and presentation, to help students more actively express ideas and improve their overall communication skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the WATUTU media (Wayang Patuh Aturan) based on a role-playing model in Pancasila Education learning for Phase A elementary school students. This research was motivated by the need for innovative and interactive learning media to support students at the concrete operational stage in understanding abstract concepts, particularly rules in Pancasila Education. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 22 first-grade students at an elementary school in Sukasari District, Bandung. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the use of WATUTU media integrated with the role-playing model was effective in increasing students' understanding and motivation in learning Pancasila, especially regarding rules. Students responded positively to the media, stating that it was engaging, easy to understand, and helpful in applying Pancasila values in daily life. The findings indicate that integrating visual and interactive media such as WATUTU with role-playing can enhance young learners’ learning experiences and outcomes in Pancasila Education, and it is recommended for broader implementation in early-grade learning contexts.

Abstract

Character education is essential for building children's moral foundations early on, but existing research often focuses on policies, evaluations, or theories, overlooking teachers' everyday classroom practices in fostering values like honesty. This study fills that gap by exploring micro-level pedagogical strategies in daily civics (Pancasila) lessons at an Indonesian elementary school a rarely examinedpractical aspect. Employing a qualitative case study, the research at SDN 160 Sukalaksana, Bandung City, involved three teachers from grades 4-6. Data came from in-depth interviews, extended observations, and document reviews. Key findings highlight three approaches: (1) behavioral modeling, (2) integrating honesty dilemmas into lessons, and (3) habituation via moral reflection. Challengesinclude inconsistent home support and time limitations. This work offers novel insights into feasible "micro-pedagogies" for character education in real settings, emphasizing the need for school support and teacher training. It shows that effective honesty cultivation relies on teachers' consistent, smallscale efforts rather than broad programs alone.

Abstract

Character education and the development of positive habits, such as waking up early, are crucial for fostering self-discipline and ensuring students' readiness to learn, aligning with the global focus on Non-Cognitive Skills (NCS). This study aims to quantitatively measure and analyze the significant effect of the morning wake-up habit intervention on increasing the learning readiness of fifthgrade students at SDN Blokang. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, involving 32 students in a single class (total sampling) at SDN Blokang. Data were collected via pre-test and posttest questionnaires using a 4-point Likert scale following a two-week intervention period focused on positive morning routines. Analysis showed a substantial positive effect: student learning readiness increased from a mean of 18.75 to 23.10, with the percentage of students in the high category rising from 31.25% to 93.75%. The Pearson correlation coefficient was highly significant at r=0.877 (p<0.05), and the Effect Size was calculated as d=1.36, indicating a very large impact. The consistent, disciplined morning wake-up habit functions as a highly effective behavioral intervention that significantly enhancesstudents' physical, mental, and emotional learning readiness. This provides strong empirical evidence supporting the integration of morning routines as a primary strategy in character education programs

Abstract

The importance of understanding the concept of alternative energy for elementary school students cannot be separated from the current global conditions. The RADEC learning model is a learning approach designed to improve students' understanding of concepts in different ways. The objectives of this study are 1) to determine the differences in students' learning outcomes in understanding the concept of alternative energy functions using the RADEC learning model in sixth grade. 2) To obtain a learning model that provides better learning outcomes in the subject of alternative energy functions in sixth grade elementary school. The research design used in this study is a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was all sixth-grade elementary school students. The instruments used in this study included descriptive tests and observation sheets. The instruments used in this study were test questions adjusted to the revised Bloom's taxonomy understanding indicators. The results of data analysis showed that the RADEC learning model had a significant effect on improving students' conceptual understanding. Normality and homogeneity tests ensured that the data met the assumptions of parametric statistical analysis. The Paired Sample T-Test showed a significant increase in the pretest and posttest of both groups, with a greater increase in the experimental group. The Independent Sample T-Test revealed a significant difference between the two groups in the posttest (Sig. 0.003 < 0.05). The N-Gain analysis showed an average increase in understanding of 46.41% in the experimental group, higher than the control group at 30.15%. This study concluded that the RADEC model was more effective than the STEM method in improving students' understanding of alternative energy concepts.
