Abstract

This research aims to implement thematic learning through the medium of making roselle flower tea (teburos) to improve the entrepreneurial skills of class VI students at SD Negeri Rojopolo 06.The research method used was classroom action research involving 20 students as research subjects. The research steps involve planning, pre-test, implementation, observation, post-test and reflection. The implementation of this learning is a pre-test, providing thematic material, planting roselle plants, active involvement of students in making and packaging Teburos products, developing students' analytical skills in marketing Teburos products, as well as post-tests and reflections. The data collection method used was giving tests to students. From the research results, it is known that the implementation of thematic learning through the teburos media can show improvement. This increase can be seen from the comparison of the average pre-test and post-test scores of students, which experienced a significant increase of 65% from the pre-test score of 55.75, increasing to the post-test of 75.25. The application of thematic learning using Teburos media can improve students' entrepreneurial skills and have a positive impact on students' learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop contextual-based physics teaching materials by integrating local wisdom from the processing of tobacco harvests in Jember, East Java, into junior high school science materials. The teaching materials are designed to promote critical thinking skills, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation. This research is motivated by the need to make physics learning more meaningful and relevant to students' daily lives. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which focuses on the analysis and design stages. The teaching materials are presented interactively and visually using the Canva digital platform and can be accessed by students via an interactive website. Data analysis involved expert validation and questionnaire responses from 30 seventh-grade junior high school students. Expert validation was analyzed descriptively and quantitatively, and student responses were analyzed according to the frequency distribution of each aspect assessed. Experts' results of content validation show that teaching materials are suitable for learning. Based on the physics review, there are several tobacco processing processes related to physics concepts. The physics materials about temperature, heat transfer by conduction, convection, radiation, and specific heat directly relate to the real process of drying tobacco. Student responses were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that this contextual teaching material effectively increased students' learning motivation, concept understanding, and critical thinking skills. Students stated that the teaching materials were interesting, easy to understand, and related to their daily experiences. It can be concluded that local context-based physics teaching materials have strong potential to increase student engagement and support the development of thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of agroscience-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on junior high school students' scientific argumentation skills on ecology and biodiversity. The main problem raised is the low scientific argumentation skills of students, which impacts on suboptimal critical thinking skills and the delivery of opinions based on scientific evidence. The research method used was a quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design, involving two classes, namely the experimental class using agroscience-based LKPD, and the control class using conventional LKPD. The research instrument was a pre-test and post-test essay test that measured three indicators of scientific argumentation, namely claim, evidence, and justification. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. The average N-Gain of the experimental class was 0.73 (high category), while the control class was 0.44 (medium category). The largest increase occurred in the justification indicator in the experimental class. The conclusion of this study is that the use of agroscience-based student worksheets (LKPD) is effective in improving students' scientific argumentation skills, particularly in developing logical and evidence-based scientific justifications. It can also serve as an alternative, innovative teaching material to improve the quality of science learning in schools.

Abstract

Digital literacy can be defined as an attitude in analyzing and evaluating effectively in various learning. Learning in the 21st century requires efforts to adapt to changes due to the rapid advancement of technological knowledge. Digital literacy skills in Indonesia are still classified as moderate with a digital literacy index of 3.49. This study aims to determine the validity of the items, reliability, distinguishing power and level of difficulty by using the quizwhizzer application in measuring digital literacy of junior high school students. This research is a type of development research that refers to the Borg and Gall development model procedure which has several stages including analysis, planning, product design development, validation, product revision, initial trial, and final trial. The results of the expert validity research analysis have an average of 75.4% and all items are declared valid and have a reliability value with an average of 0.636. The analysis of the differentiation and difficulty level of the items was good enough. The conclusion of this development research is a science learning assessment using the quizwhizzer application to measure the digital literacy of junior high school students that is valid, reliable and feasible to use in the evaluation process.

Abstract

Tempurejo Village in Jember Regency boasts abundant banana potential, considered one of the village's leading products. However, its utilization remains suboptimal. This community service research aims to empower women in Tempurejo Village, Jember, who are predominantly housewives, to increase family income through the diversification of processed banana products. Tempurejo Village has significant potential as a center for banana production and collection, but local processed banana products are still traditional, lack branding, and face limited marketing knowledge. Using a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, the activities were carried out through stages of team formation, objective formulation, stakeholder identification, needs analysis, problem prioritization, preparation, material implementation, and practical training. A total of 30 housewives were trained to produce economically valuable banana processed products such as crispy banana nuggets, molten bananas (pisang lumer), and banana toast (pisang roti tawar). Furthermore, the training also covered packaging skills, the creation of the "Pisang Juara Tempurejo" brand, and offline marketing strategies (booth design) as well as online marketing through social media (Facebook, WhatsApp Business, Instagram). Targeted outputs include increased participation and skills of the housewives, three production guide modules, one branding logo, and one booth design along with social media accounts. This program is expected to improve the economic well-being of village women, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to women's empowerment and food security
