Abstract

This study, titled "The Influence of Motivation on Employee Performance Through Employee Competence at Puskesmas in Surabaya," aims to analyze the effect of work motivation on employee performance while considering the role of employee competence as a mediating variable. The research employs Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to examine the causal relationships between motivation, competence, and employee performance across five Puskesmas in Surabaya. Data were collected through a survey involving 163 employees, utilizing a questionnaire consisting of 54 questions related to motivation, competence, and performance. The analysis results indicate that work motivation has a positive but statistically insignificant direct effect on employee performance, with a path coefficient of 0.162 (p < 0.05). This suggests that while work motivation may have a beneficial impact, other factors might also play a significant role in determining employee performance. Furthermore, work motivation was found to have a significant positive influence on employee competence, with a path coefficient of 0.571 (p < 0.05). In turn, employee competence significantly positively affects employee performance, with a path coefficient of 0.560 (p < 0.05). Additionally, work motivation indirectly influences employee performance through competence, with a path coefficient of 0.320 (p < 0.05). This study concludes that enhancing employee motivation and competence will positively impact employee performance at Puskesmas. The implications of these findings are expected to provide recommendations for Puskesmas management in designing effective employee development strategies and contribute to the literature on human resource management in the healthcare sector.

Abstract

The This study aims to explore the implementation of online learning of Teaching Skills and Microteaching courses, focusing on three main aspects: preparation, implementation, and evaluation of learning. This study also considers the challenges that arise due to student involvement in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, which often affects the consistency of their participation in regular learning. This study was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method with a case study design. The results showed that online learning was quite effective in conveying teaching skills theory through digital materials and asynchronous activities. However, teaching practice simulations faced several limitations, such as the difficulty of observing non-verbal elements, classroom management, and spontaneous responses of students during online simulations. Technical constraints, especially unstable internet connections, were also major obstacles in implementing learning. In addition, students involved in MBKM reported difficulties in dividing time between program assignments and regular course preparation, which impacted their participation and engagement.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Digital Transformation and Human Resource Management Practices on Internal Service Quality, with Organizational Agility as a mediating variable at the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration in West Kalimantan. The research employs a quantitative survey method using proportionate stratified sampling, involving 254 employees as respondents. The collected data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that Digital Transformation and Human Resource Management Practices have a significant effect on improving Internal Service Quality, both directly and indirectly through the enhancement of Organizational Agility. Organizational Agility also plays a mediating role in strengthening the relationship between these variables, highlighting its importance as a dynamic capability within the organization. The study concludes that strengthening digital integration, implementing adaptive human resource management practices, and improving organizational responsiveness are essential for enhancing internal service quality in public sector institutions. From a theoretical perspective, this research contributes to the development of the Resource-Based View and Social Exchange Theory within the context of digital public services. However, this study is limited by its cross-sectional research design, and future studies are recommended to use longitudinal approaches to better understand the causal relationships among the variables. Abstract

Objective: This research investigates the influence of organizational culture on knowledge sharing practices through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach that follows strict protocols to minimize bias. Method: The SLR process began with a literature search using Harzing's Publish or Perish on Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and Scopus databases with the keywords “organizational culture”, “corporate culture”, “knowledge sharing”, “knowledge exchange”, and “knowledge transfer”, resulting in 320 initial articles (2019-2025). Inclusion criteria included English/Indonesian articles that presented empirical evidence on the causal relationship between organizational culture and knowledge sharing, while opinion articles, non-full text, and studies without explicit analysis were excluded. After a three-stage selection (title screening, abstract screening, full-text assessment), 78 articles were eligible for thematic analysis using NVivo 12. The main themes identified include: (1) the dominance of the collaborative culture dimension in facilitating knowledge sharing, (2) the ambivalent role of authoritarian leadership as both an obstacle and a driver of knowledge exchange efficiency, (3) technological literacy inequality as a critical moderator, and (4) the dynamics of knowledge hoarding in hierarchical organizations. Results: The analysis shows that 65% of the studies are concentrated on the corporate sector, while NGO and public service contexts account for only 12%. The main limitations lie in the methodological heterogeneity of the reviewed studies (65% quantitative, 28% qualitative, 7% mixed) and geographical bias (82% of studies from Asia and Europe). Novelty: Nevertheless, the synthesis of findings reveals a pattern that an organizational culture based on psychological safety and a non-monetary incentive system increases the intensity of knowledge sharing by 40%. This study recommends an integrative framework that combines Resource-Based View and Social Exchange theories for future studies.

Abstract

Employee performance is a crucial determinant of the success of public service organizations, including PDAM Tirta Dharma Lamongan, which is responsible for providing clean water services effectively, efficiently, and sustainably. This study aims to analyze the influence of Perception of Corporate Social Responsibility, Organizational Citizenship Behavior, and Work Environment on Employee Performance through Total Quality Management as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from PDAM Tirta Dharma Lamongan employees through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that Perception of Corporate Social Responsibility, Organizational Citizenship Behavior, and Work Environment have a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Work Environment also have a positive and significant effect on Total Quality Management, while Perception of Corporate Social Responsibility does not significantly influence Total Quality Management. Furthermore, Total Quality Management has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. Mediation analysis reveals that Total Quality Management does not mediate the relationship between Perception of Corporate Social Responsibility and Employee Performance but successfully mediates the effects of Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Work Environment on Employee Performance. These findings indicate that proactive employee behavior and a supportive work environment contribute more effectively to performance improvement when integrated with a sustainable quality management system, highlighting the strategic role of Total Quality Management in enhancing employee performance within public service organizations.
