Abstract

Ethics is a branch of philosophy that discusses good and bad. This study still relevant to be examined and discussed until now, because by studying ethics, someone is able to find and obtain all the good things as well as to avoid the bad. However, ethics is often separated from the practice of life, one of them is modern diplomacy. Diplomacy is all the efforts made to regulate the relationship among nations. Thus, ethics of diplomacy in this sense can be meant as a basic principle or practice of diplomacy which is accountable, tolerant, and fair. Since this study is attempted to reveal how the ethics of diplomacy of Prophet Muhammad, then this study uses ethical perspective of Islam. In this approach, researcher used: first, the descriptive analysis methods to further explore the basic principle regarding diplomacy of Prophet Muhammad. Second, the critical analysis method to discover the implications and problems of the principles and practice of diplomacy in the modern era. Regarding this method, it was discovered that in fact the basic principle and practice of diplomacy of Prophet Muhammad are based on tawhīd.

Abstract

The construction of integrative scientific paradigm is a grand scientific project, however the success of the reconstruction of a new paradigm that is not enough, because still must be supported by the availability of functional and effective methodology. This paper intends to offer methodology of science development, based on integrative paradigm, which is not only functional and effective, but give guarantee for productivity, as well as safe from the shackles of a practice pseudo-scientific, and excessive practice of ideological science. Scientific development model "methodology of research programs" offered here, on the one hand would be sufficient as an answer to doubts about competability to the Islamic sciences, and on the other hand denied also fear of loss or erosion of Islamic values with increasing scientific research, or development of scientific reasoning in general.

Abstract

Hubungan ilmu sains dan agama adalah ada kaitan antar keduanya dalam sejarah mengalami benturan. Bagi sains Islam, agama adalah inheren tidak dapat dipisahkan dengan sains. Sains Islam berpegang kepada dîn atau agama. Agama Islam berlandaskan wahyu kitab suci alQur’an. Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas dan Ian G Barbour merupakan tokoh yang sangat berpengaruh dalam dunia Pendidikan khususnya bidang Agama dan Sains. Al-Attas terkenal dengan gagasan Integrasi Agama dan Sains. Bagi saintis Muslim al-Qur’an merupakan sumber ilmu pengetahuan yang darinya dikembangkan segala macam disiplin seperti Ilmu syari’ah seperti, akidah, fikih,.dengan menggunakan deskriptif komparatif makalah ini menemukan Dalam integrasi agama dan sains Al-Atas melalui tahap pengklasifikasian dari tiga unsur: ketidakterbatasan sains, kemuliaan tanggung jawab untuk mencarinya dan keterbatasan hidup manusia. Abstract

Agama Islam berlandaskan wahyu berupa kitab suci al-Qur’an. Bagi saintis Muslim, al-Qur’an merupakan sumber ilmu pengetahuan yang darinya dikembangkan segala macam disiplin ilmu. Ilmu syari’ah seperti, akidah, fikih, kalam, filsafat tanpa menafikan disiplin ilmu umum seperti astronomi, kedokteran, fisika, kimia dan sebaginya. Pada sisi yang berbeda, sains Modern menafikan peran agama dalam kajian keilmuan. Hingga pada akhirnya, sains Modern menjauhkan diri dari doktrin agama. Makalah ini terfokus mengkaji statum (posisi) agama dalam perspektif sains Islam dan sains Modern (Barat) dengan kajian kepustakaan yang menekankan pada aspek tekstual. Dari penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa agama adalah inheren tidak dapat dipisahkan dengan sains. Sains Islam berpegang kepada dîn atau agama, sedang sains Modern tidak lagi berpijak pada agama, hingga berakumulasi pada kerusakan yang ditimbulkan. Hal ini memicu saintis Muslim mengambil sikap tanggap yaitu dengan menyodorkan solusi gagasan Islamisasi terhadap sains Modern. Langkah tersebut sebagai respon atas dampak yang dirasakan oleh umat Islam. Islamisasi terhadap sains Modern selayaknya mampu menjadi solusi terhadap kerusakan dan kehancuran yang ditimbulkan oleh para saintis Modern.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui: 1) Menemukan seberapa besar pengaruh lingkungan keluarga terhadap prestasi belajar siswa; 2) Menemukan seberapa besar pengaruh lingkungan sekolah terhadap prestasi belajar siswa; 3) Menemukan seberapa besar pengaruh lingkungan keluarga dan lingkungan sekolah terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif yang disertai dengan pengujian hipotesis dengan analisis statistik. Populasi seluruh siswa kelas 6 yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah angket untuk lingkungan keluarga dan lingkungan sekolah sedangkan prestasi belajar diambil dari hasil ujian sekolah. Hasil penelitian: 1) Pengaruh antara lingkungan keluarga (X1) dengan prestasi belejar (Y) mencapai angka 0,122 jika dikonsultasikan dengan tabel korelasi product moment menunjukan adanya pengaruh antara X1 dan Y dengan dengan derajat signifikasi 0,527 walaupun pengaruh tersebut sangat rendah. 2) pengruh antara lingkungan sekolah (X2) dan prestasi belajar (Y) mencapai angka 0,21 jika dikonsultasikan dengan tabel korelasi product moment menunjukan adanya pengaruh antara X2 dan Y dengan derajat signifikasi 0,634 sehingga pengaruh antara X2 dan Y rendah. 3) pengaruh antara lingkungan keluarga dan lingkungan sekolah dengan prestasi belajar siswa mencapai angka 0,025, jika dikonsultasikan dengan tabel korelasi product moment menunjukan adanya pengaruh X1 dan X2 dengan Y dengan nilai statistik F 0,349 walaupun pengaruhnya sangat rendah 92,5%). Abstract

Wacana agama dan sains tidak hentinya digaungkan dan terus dikaji utamanya oleh beberapa akademisi tak terkecuali oleh beberapa perguruan tinggi. Hal tiada lain untuk memperkuat titik temu antara agama dan sains, terlebih terdapat beberapa anggapan yang menyatakan bahwasannya agama dan sains yang tidak dapat disatukan. Konsep integrasi menjadi salah satu upaya dalam wacana dikotomi agama dan sains salah satunya adalah pandangan Holmes Rolston salah satu filsuf yang mempertemukan teologi yaitu agama dan teori yaitu sains dalam metodologi. Melalui konsep metodologi Holmes Rolston, integrasi antara agama dan sains dapat tumbuh dan berkembang bahkan saling mengisi. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka. Dari telaah yang penulis lakukan terhadap pandangan Holmes Rolston mengenai integrasi agama dan sains, sebagai respon dari sikotomi agama dan sains yang menjawab bahwasannya anatara teologi yaitu agama dan teori yaitu sains dapat bertemu dalam sebuah metodologi.

Abstract

This research explains about marriage regulated in Baduy traditional law and marriage regulated in Islamic Law Compilation (KHI). This research uses the Normative Sociological and Juridical Empirical research methods. This research is descriptive analytical and uses Primary Data Sources and Secondary Data Sources. Sources of data used were obtained from Library Research. Interviews of the Baduy community and field observations to the Baduy area were also carried out to obtain the data needed for this research. The results of this study indicate that there are many differences between the existing marriage regulations in Baduy customary law and the marriage regulations that have been regulated in the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI). Some of these differences include that the Baduy people do not know polygamy and polyandry, there is no divorce, there is an early marriage (there is no age limit for marriage), and some of them register a marriage. Even though the Compilation of Islamic Law has regulated and facilitated polygamy and polyandry, divorce, marriage age limits, and marriage registration. The marriage of the Baduy people who hold fast to the ancestral customs of the ancestors with a very simple unwritten customary regulation turns out to be effective for the Baduy community. Compilation of Islamic Law that was compiled, codified, and deliberated by scholars brought in from all regions of Indonesia and applies nationally there are still people who do not obey it. This is inseparable from compliance, public awareness, legal awareness, and the number of people bound by these regulations.

Abstract

The relativism problem –allegedly has become a frightening specter for a stable religious and social existence. Relativism which believes there is no absolute truth; the truth is relative, raises a problem by denying the existence of God's truth and declaring that human is the measure of all things. Even though human statements, when viewed from this review, also become very relatively charged. Therefore, an in-depth study of relativism and its implication for Islam must be investigated. This paper tried to provide a solution problem of relativism by using the worldview theory from Al-Attas, which can guide humans to know the direction and purpose of their behavior in viewing actual reality. The authors used a qualitative research method, collected data on the issues raised from various reading sources such as books and journals, and analyzed data using Al-Attas' theory. Critical analysis methods supported by solid historical reviews found that this understanding of relativism triggered other notions that deconstructed the truth claims of Islam as a complete religion and messed up fixed Sharia law 'śawābit'. Relativism is the root cause of multi-dimensional problems, especially religion and social issues. Therefore, the existence of an ideal moral measure that is universal is necessary and manifest.

Abstract

This articledeparts from the assumption that education is actually a scientific activity ,in a sense related to theimplementation,development and dissemination of knowledge. However, in education, study of knowledge and it’ s relation with the educational process remains a neglected area. In the perspective of philosophy of science, contemporary issue to this is the issue of the nature of science and the growth of science. Relation to education, a growing problem then is how the consequences of building science to education. If education means the process of promoting and developing human knowledge, how should the process be done? This article asserts that the concept and praxis of education proved to havea relationship with the scientific problem. Criticism of the nature of science is certainly going to be able to  clarify the pedagogical logic of educational praxis. Theory and methodolog y of education has become a pretty interesting studyin pedagogy. While “educational paradigm” is a philosophical discussion in Philosophy of Education, Sociology and History of Education, actually there is another problem that has not been touched, namely the problem of belief, principles of life, and faith in relation to education.  This problem is referred to as the “Theology of Education, ” a field that examines the values , spirit, and religious aspects as an integral part of education.

Abstract

This paper examines mode of Islamic thought is developing today ,which was then known as Contemporary Islamic Thought, by searching the role of logic and reasoning behind the idea. Three main issues are addressed: first, the project of contemporary Islamic thought, which is a radical reading of the construction of epistemology of sciences and building of logical basic of traditions, culture and civilization, by taking the authentic (al-ashâlah) and inner structure (bunyah),so that it can be transformed to the present.  Second,the mode of contemporary Islamic thought, related to attitudes toward tradition (turâts) on the one hand and attitudes towards modernity (hadâtsah) on the other. In contrast to the traditional thought that addressing modernity with a priori for conservation,are also different from modern thought that response to the tradition as something that must be eliminated for the sake of progress; Contemporary Islamic thought involved a critical reading of tradition and modernity ,before bringing them within the framework of contemporary challenges. And third,the model of contemporary readings, by indicate methodological tools of scientific work. Hermeneutics, criticism, and deconstruction are three species of readings that be able to break through the scarcity of methodological for reading complexity of culture and problems of humanity in general, which has not been available instrument for that.
