Abstract

This study attempts to critically explore the representation of witches in two genres of text, i.e. popular animated movie Spirited Away and a historical essay published on history.com. Critical Discourse Analysis and Critical-feminist Approach to Marx’s ‘primitive accumulation’ are incorporated as the guiding framework in the data analysis process. Findings showcase that the representation of witches in animated movie highlights the criticism of capitalist disruption of Japanese gender roles as can be seen from the ambivalent characters of the movie’s main witch antagonist, Yubaba and her twin sister Zeniba. Furthermore, in the historical essay, findings portray that witches’ representation in historical article does not guarantee that they are free from marginalizing and stereotypical accusation. Even though the highlight is on the severe state-sponsored punishment and disciplining toward women’s body during the great witch hunt, the actors exerting power are made invisible, resulting in the perpetuation of unjust power balance within the society. Abstract

Advances in communication technology have driven the development of network-based applications to meet the need for efficient and effective communication. Chat applications have become one of the most popular solutions to provide an interactive platform that enables the exchange of information quickly and easily. The development of information technology today has changed the paradigm of interaction between individuals, especially in the world of education. Students of the Electrical Engineering Department at Riau University are increasingly facing challenges in developing network-based applications to support academic activities and communication between fellow students. This research aims to design an application with a chat-based Graphical User Interface (GUI), which facilitates communication between students through the use of Java Socket. The use of Graphical User Interface (GUI) in chat applications also provides advantages in terms of user experience, making interaction between users more intuitive and interesting. Therefore, the author proposes a journal design of a GUI-based chat application between clients with the help of Java socket for students majoring in electrical engineering at Riau University.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the benefits of traditional children's games in classical services. This is motivated by a phenomenon of changes in playing activities, which more often use modern games that are identical to the use of technology, which results in starting to become forgotten and become strangers. Writing based on this literature study can illustrate the importance of using traditional games in classical services, which can foster prosocial behavior, increase motivation and provide innovation so that boredom does not occur and makes it easier to understand the material provided in guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan internet di kalangan remaja Indonesia, khususnya kelompok usia 15–24 tahun yang tercatat sebagai pengguna internet tertinggi menurut BPS, menghadirkan manfaat sekaligus risiko seperti prokrastinasi akademik, kecemasan, dan perundungan digital. Kondisi ini menuntut adanya strategi penguatan karakter, termasuk disiplin positif, yang relevan dengan konteks perkembangan generasi digital. Objektif: kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta didik dalam menerapkan disiplin positif sebagai strategi menghadapi tantangan digital, serta mengukur respons dan capaian peserta dalam merumuskan rencana tindak lanjut yang konkret. Program dilaksanakan melalui metode workshop yang bersifat partisipatif, meliputi penyampaian materi konseptual, diskusi interaktif, simulasi, refleksi, serta penyusunan rencana tindak lanjut. Kegiatan dilakukan pada 180 peserta didik kelas XI dan 7 guru SMA Assalaam Kabupaten Bandung. Hasil workshop menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terkait konsep dan praktik disiplin positif, ditunjukkan melalui keaktifan diskusi, kemampuan peserta merumuskan rencana harian berbasis prioritas, serta respons positif dari pihak sekolah terhadap implementasi lanjutan program. Peserta juga menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran mengenai risiko penggunaan internet berlebihan berdasarkan evaluasi akhir workshop. Program ini menawarkan kebaruan berupa model workshop disiplin positif berbasis analisis SWOT yang mengintegrasikan kesadaran risiko digital, refleksi diri, dan rencana tindak lanjut personal. Pendekatan ini terbukti efektif dalam memperkuat kontrol diri remaja dalam konteks digital, serta menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan intervensi kolaboratif sekolah orang tua profesional dalam membangun kebiasaan positif. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pembelajaran karakter berbasis pengalaman langsung dapat menjadi strategi preventif yang potensial terhadap masalah perilaku digital pada remaja.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to optimize the preparation of goods into trucks so that time and energy are not wasted on PT. Sentralindo Teguh Gemilang engaged in shipping goods. In preparing goods at PT. STG uses experts. But in the preparation of the goods, I guess I will use a type of truck where all items will be included. This makes the company need more time and money. To solve this, the author uses the Greedy algorithm to make the preparation of items more efficient. And apply it to the decision support system. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji praktik pelaporan akuntansi hijau di kalangan Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Pontianak, Indonesia. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tingkat kesiapan UMKM dalam menerapkan akuntansi hijau, tantangan yang dihadapi, serta dampaknya terhadap akses pendanaan berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar UMKM di Pontianak memiliki pemahaman yang terbatas tentang akuntansi hijau, dengan 42% responden memiliki pemahaman rendah dan 33% memiliki pemahaman sedang. Hanya 25% dari responden yang menunjukkan pemahaman tinggi tentang konsep tersebut. Tantangan utama yang dihadapi meliputi kendala keuangan, kesenjangan pengetahuan, keterbatasan rantai pasokan, ketidakjelasan peraturan, kompleksitas sistem pelaporan, keterbatasan sumber daya, dan infrastruktur yang tidak memadai. Meskipun demikian, semua UMKM yang disurvei menunjukkan minat tinggi dalam pelatihan akuntansi hijau, dengan motivasi utama termasuk tanggung jawab lingkungan, pengembangan bisnis, dan akses pendanaan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pembentukan pusat dukungan akuntansi hijau untuk UMKM, pengembangan panduan sektoral, dan implementasi insentif keuangan yang ditargetkan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menekankan bahwa UMKM siap untuk menerapkan praktik akuntansi berkelanjutan dengan dukungan yang tepat, dan keberhasilan transisi ini memerlukan pendekatan terpadu yang menggabungkan insentif keuangan, pembangunan kapasitas, dan kerangka peraturan yang fleksibel.

Abstract

Background: Counseling skills are essential for students in psychology, guidance counseling, and social work, as they are crucial for addressing psychological, emotional, and social issues effectively. Objective: This study aims to identify and analyze the factors influencing the development of counseling skills among university students, with particular emphasis on self-efficacy, cultural context, and the challenges encountered during training. Method: A systematic literature review was employed to gather, evaluate, and synthesize findings from empirical studies on counseling skills training for university students. This method enabled a structured and transparent collection of data from sources indexed in reputable academic databases. Results: The findings reveal that experiential learning methods, such as role-playing, internships, and case simulations, significantly improve students' empathy and interviewing skills. The use of technology, such as virtual reality (VR) simulations, also enhances non-verbal communication skills. Group supervision and feedback from peers and instructors accelerate the mastery of practical counseling skills. However, cultural differences and emotional stress during practice remain significant challenges. Conclusion: The study concludes that effective development of counseling skills requires a multimodal approach that integrates theory, practice, reflection, and feedback. It also emphasizes the need for adaptive curricula that take into account local and cultural contexts. Contribution: This research contributes to the design of more effective counseling training strategies, providing insights into how counseling programs can be adapted to meet the diverse needs of students from various cultural backgrounds.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji kembali prinsip-prinsip kolaborasi dalam hadis dan relevansinya bagi penguatan manajemen pendidikan Islam, terutama dalam konteks tantangan organisasi pendidikan yang semakin kompleks. Selama ini kajian manajemen pendidikan Islam cenderung menempatkan nilai-nilai hadis hanya sebagai moralitas normatif, belum sebagai fondasi manajerial yang dapat diintegrasikan secara operasional ke dalam fungsi manajemen modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kepustakaan, serta analisis tematik Braun dan Clarke untuk mengidentifikasi pola makna kolaboratif dalam hadis. Empat tema utama ditemukan: syūrā (musyawarah), ta‘āwun (saling menolong), jamā‘ah (kebersamaan), dan naṣīḥah (saling menguatkan dan memberi arahan). Keempat tema tersebut kemudian dipetakan secara sistematis ke dalam fungsi manajemen POAC: perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan pengawasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prinsip-prinsip kolaboratif dalam hadis bukan hanya ajaran etis, tetapi merupakan kerangka manajerial yang bersifat aplikatif dan mampu memperkuat tata kelola lembaga pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis berupa model integrasi hadis manajemen sebagai pendekatan alternatif dalam pengembangan manajemen pendidikan Islam, serta menawarkan implikasi praktis bagi pimpinan madrasah dan lembaga pendidikan untuk membangun budaya organisasi yang partisipatif, inklusif, dan berorientasi pada peningkatan kinerja.

Abstract

This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA 2020 protocol to evaluate the effectiveness of the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) learning model in enhancing critical thinking skills among elementary school students. A total of 21 peer-reviewed studies published between 2019 and 2025 were analyzed. The findings show that the RADEC model enhances critical thinking, particularly in science education. Through its structured stages, the model promotes active engagement, social interaction, reflective thinking, and conceptual understanding. Despite these benefits, challenges such as low student literacy, limited teacher readiness, and insufficient institutional support were identified. These results highlight the need for comprehensive teacher training and institutional support to ensure successful implementation. The RADEC model presents itself as a promising and adaptable approach for promoting 21st-century competencies in primary education.

Abstract

Background: The increasing use of smartphones among elementary school students has raised concerns about their potential impact on learning engagement and academic behaviours, as excessive smartphone use may reduce students’ focus, discipline, and interest in schoolwork. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of limiting smartphone use on students’ learning interest at the elementary level. Method: The research employed an ex post facto design conducted at SMAN 1 Batujajar in 2025, involving 31 students as the research sample. Data were collected using a smartphone use restriction scale and a learning interest scale. Statistical analysis was performed using simple linear regression to determine the influence of smartphone use limitation on students’ learning interest. Results: The t-test showed a p-value of 0.000, which is lower than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). This indicates that limiting smartphone use has a statistically significant effect on students’ learning interest. Conclusion: Smartphone use restriction contributes positively to improving students’ learning interest. Contribution: This study provides empirical evidence regarding the relationship between smartphone use limitation and learning interest. The findings offer practical implications for teachers and schools in formulating smartphone-use policies and contribute to theoretical discussions of digital behaviour and student engagement in elementary education.
