Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is a disease with the potential for outbreaks/outbreaks caused by the Dengue virus and transmitted by the Aedes sp mosquito vector. The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia noted that in 2017 there were 68,407 dengue cases with 493 deaths. In 2018 it decreased to 53,075 cases with 344 deaths or 0.64% CFR. In January 2019, dengue cases increased sharply when compared to the previous year, from 6,167 cases with 43 deaths or 0.69% CFR to 13,683 cases with 132 deaths or 0.96% CFR. DHF cases in NTT in the last three years have decreased, namely in 2016 there were 665 cases, in 2017 there were 542 or 10.3/100,000 and in 2018 there was a decline again by 210 cases with one death or CFR 0.48 per 100,000 population. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the effectiveness of the use of temephos on the mortality of Aedes sp mosquito larvae in Oesapa Village, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City. This research was an experimental study with a completely randomized design with 3 treatments, namely temephos which was sown, wrapped in gauze and wrapped in plastic and the control was not given any treatment. The number of samples was 250 larvae . Analysis of the data used was the Kruskal Wallis Test. The results of the analysis of the -Value value of 0.257 > 0.05, which means that there is no significant difference in the mortality of Aedes sp larvae in each treatment group. The highest average mortality of Aedes sp larvae was in the treatment of sown temephos, which was 12,50 while the wrapped in plastic group had the lowest average of 8,50. Researchers hope that the community can participate in dengue vector control by implementing the use of temephos in their respective households.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a type of disease that attacks the respiratory tract and usually attacks children under five because their immune system is still strong. According to some experts, the cause of this is because toddlers have weak immune systems so they are susceptible to disease. In 2021, there will be 2,212 cases of ARI in toddlers in TTU. The Sasi Health Center is the highest contributor to ARI cases in toddlers in TTU with a total of 578 cases. Data from the Sasi Health Center reported that the Maubeli Village is one of several other villages that contribute to the incidence of ARI in toddlers with a total of 108 cases. This study aims to identify factors associated with the incidence of Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) in children under five in Maubeli Village, Kefamenanu City District, TTU Regency. This quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach involved 82 children under five as samples, selected through simple random sampling. Data analysis using the chi-square test showed that maternal knowledge (p=0.008), type of cooking fuel (p=0.017), and waste-burning behavior (p=0.030) had significant associations with ARI incidence. Meanwhile, immunization status, kitchen location, and family smoking behavior did not show significant associations. This study recommends improving maternal knowledge about ARI prevention, such as avoiding taking children to the kitchen while cooking, not using firewood as cooking fuel, and refraining from burning waste in residential areas.

Abstract

Hypertension or high blood pressure is a common chronic disease worldwide and a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) 2019 shows that the global prevalence of hypertension is 22% of the total world population. The 2018 Riskesdas showed that in Indonesia the prevalence of people with high blood pressure reached 34.1% higher than the prevalence in 2013 of 25.8%. The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factors associated with the incidence of hypertension in the working area of the Community Health Center in Soe City, South Central Timor District. The method used in this research is an analytic survey with a case control research design. There were 124 samples in this study consisting of 62 cases and 62 controls. Sampling of this study using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis used the chi-square statistical test and calculated the strength of the risk factor relationship using the odds ratio (OR). The dependent variable in this study was hypertension while the independent variables were age, gender, smoking habits, physical activity, obesity and salt consumption. The results showed that the variables that had a relationship with the incidence of hypertension were age (p=0.000, OR=35,974), gender (p=0.035, OR=0.404), smoking habits (p=0.017, OR=2.928), physical activity (p=0.002, OR=3.657), obesity (p=0.000, OR=4.191) while salt consumption has no relationship with the incidence of hypertension. Suggestions for the community to further improve healthy lifestyles such as reducing smoking habits, doing regular physical activity, and always maintaining a diet and carrying out routine blood pressure checks to health services.

Abstract

Stigma in tuberculosis can cause delays in treatment and hurt the continuity of treatment so that treatment is not completed. Knowledge about tuberculosis that is known by the family will increase efforts to prevent or spread tuberculosis to other families in the house and the environment around the house. The purpose of this study was to determine the stigma and knowledge of the family of tuberculosis patients. This study is a descriptive study with an approach cross-sectional. The sample in this study amounted to 61 people representing patients who were being treated at the Oesao Health Center and the Naibonat Health Center. The results of the study show that the stigma that occurs in the families of tuberculosis patients is a lack of knowledge about tuberculosis, the causes of tuberculosis, how it can be infected, and how to treat it, where people still think that tuberculosis is a man-made disease so that if there is one family who is sick they will be sick first. In the past, they looked for people to pray instead of checking themselves into health facilities such as health centers. Family knowledge about tuberculosis is good, where family knowledge is obtained from counseling health workers at the health center and at the Integrated Health Center so that families can prevent the transmission of tuberculosis in the family and the environment around the tuberculosis patient's home. It is recommended to improve counseling, personal hygiene, and Clean and Healthy Life Behavior to prevent the spread of tuberculosis to families and other people around the home environment.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition of hb levels less than normal, which is 11.5 gr / dl. In 2018, there were 9531 cases of pregnant women, of which 2207 (23%) people suffered from anemia. Specifically for the Sikumana Health Center there are 523 cases. This study aims to see the relationship between diet and compliance with the consumption of Blood Added Tablets (TTD) with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the Sikumana Health Center work area in 2020. This research is quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The study sample amounted to 70 people. The data was analyzed using the Chi Square test at a meaningful level of α=0.05. The results showed that there are two variables associated with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women, namely the type of eating (p-value = 0.000) the level of energy adequacy (p-value = 0.000), and adherence to the consumption of blood-added tablets (TTD) (p-value = 0.044). Variables that have no association with the incidence of anemia of pregnant women are the frequency of eating (p-value = 0.012). Pregnant women are expected to have a more active role in seeking information about balanced nutrition, namely the type of food and the level of energy adequacy needed during pregnancy as well as the rules for taking blood-added tablets to prevent anemia during pregnancy
