Abstract

There are notable behavioral differences between online and offline consumers. Generally, consumers prefer to purchase food and beverages, including fruit-based smoothies, through offline channels. However, offline sales at the main Gumijus branch located in Tubagus Ismail have shown a decline. This research seeks to identify consumer characteristics and their preferences in purchasing Gumijus smoothies through offline channels, focusing on specific product attributes. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 100 respondents, with data descriptive and conjoint analysis methods. The results indicate that the majority of consumers are female, belong to Generation Z, are students or university students, hold a bachelor’s (S1/D4) degree, have an income of more than Rp4,482,915, and usually purchase smoothies 1–3 times a week. Most of them found out about Gumijus through family, friends, or acquaintances. The preferred smoothie combination among consumers includes a slightly sweet taste, thick texture, single-serving portion, health benefits that support the immune system, a price range of Rp15,000–Rp25,000, low sugar content, online advertisements, and a buy 1 get 1 promotion.

Abstract

Although e-commerce makes it easier for businesses to expand their markets, this convenience allows buyers to easily cancel orders, disrupting MSME operations. This research aims to analyze the main causes of order cancellations at the Puntang Coffee store on the Shopee platform and to formulate control proposals. This study uses a qualitative case study method, with data analyzed descriptively via the Seven Tools approach. The Pareto analysis shows that the dominant causes of cancellation are "Incorrect Order Input" and "Payment Failure". Root cause analysis reveals that "Incorrect Order Input" stems from internal factors such as a lack of product content standardization and slow seller response due to limited human resources. Meanwhile, "Payment Failure" is rooted in unconvincing product content, the absence of a proactive intervention SOP from the seller, and unexpected costs during checkout. It is concluded that the main causes are a combination of controllable internal factors and difficult-to-change external factors, with a cancellation pattern peaking at 11:00-14:00. Therefore, it is recommended to implement a product content SOP, optimize customer service through scheduled responses, apply proactive interventions for payments, and increase cost transparency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of red chili agribusiness supply chain structures in Sindulang Village, Cimanggung Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency. Efficiency is measured by indicators such as distribution chain length, production cost (HPP), marketing margin, farmer’s share, and cash flow cycle. The research applied a qualitative case study approach using descriptive and diagnostic analysis. Results reveal three main supply chain structures: independent farmers, cooperative-partnered farmers, and company-partnered farmers. The independent farmer model was the most efficient, having the shortest chain, lowest HPP, smallest marketing margin, and highest farmer’s share (50%). The cooperative model was the least efficient, with the lowest farmer’s share (38%), highest HPP, and the longest cash cycle. The company-partnered model ranked moderate in efficiency. These findings emphasize that supply chain efficiency is significantly influenced by institutional structure, distribution system, and the integration of information among actors.

Abstract

Palm sugar is a processed product from palm trees (nira) which is cultivated by many craftsmen, especially UMKM craftsmen. Activity of UMKM is an effort to increase income for palm sugar craftsmen. However, there are still obstacles in its development, namely the difficulty of obtaining raw materials in the form of nira because it is related to tradition and the low selling price of palm sugar. This low price results in the craftsmen's income being low. Generally, craftsmen never take into account production costs in detail, so that the income they earn cannot be calculated with certainty. The aim of this research is to calculate the costs and income of palm sugar craftsmen, as well as the factors that influence craftsmen to run a palm sugar business. The research method used is a case study in Ciranggem Village, Jatigede District, Sumedang Regency by taking 10 palm sugar craftsmen with census. The research results show that for one palm sugar production process, the average cost incurred is Rp. 164,000 and produces 10 kg of palm sugar. The selling price for palm sugar is Rp. 20,000/kg, so the income earned is Rp. 36,000/one production process. The R/C for palm sugar is 1.22, meaning that the palm sugar business is worth pursuing. The factors that most influence craftsmen to cultivate palm sugar are to increase family income.

Abstract

The youth's perception of the agricultural sector determines their participation in agriculture. This negative view of the sector, which is the mainstay of rural development, has resulted in the general aging of farmers in Indonesia. Farmers are portrayed as unsuccessful, dirty, and full of risks, so that many households whose parents do not want their children to work as farmers. Youth perceptions and participation, especially those in families farming, are interesting to assess. The objective of this study is to assess the perceptions and involvement (participation) of farmer's children in rice farming operations conducted by their parents, whether it is positive or negative. The results found that young farmers' children had a fairly positive perception of their family's rice farming, but this was not followed by their participation. The factor of unfavorable grain prices during the harvest is the biggest concern for their family's economic life. Therefore, they are most reluctant to be fully involved in the family farm.

Abstract

As one of the agribusiness sub-systems, farming activities carried out by individuals, groups, and industries carry it out. Still, it becomes fascinating if what is cultivated is organic vegetable commodities and becomes a business with limited land, even using only 22 m2 of land in the form of 4 raised-bed gardenings. This research tries to conduct a farming analysis of one commodity from several cultivated commodities. This research uses quantitative description methods through the collection process, interpretation, and analysis to explain actual conditions. The research results show that kale curly farming is worth pursuing with a profit of 88.42% and an R/C ratio of 8.64 or greater than one by maintaining the existing market niche and developing the organic product market.

Abstract

Environmental problems in the form of waste generation globally have increased rapidly, one of which is food waste. Food waste generated will have an impact, both in the form of social, environmental and economic impacts. This study aims to determine (1) Factors that influence food waste consumption behavior of Padjadjaran University students in the BRI Faperta canteen (2) Estimating the value of food waste economic losses in the BRI Faperta canteen due to student food waste behavior. This research is a quantitative study with logistic regression analysis method and raw price approach (FDMM) and mature price approach to determine the estimated value of food waste losses incurred in the BRI Faperta canteen. Determination of respondents was carried out by purposive sampling method as many as 94 people who were consuming heavy food in the canteen. The results showed that there are factors that significantly influence food waste behavior in students in the BRI Faperta canteen, namely gender, habits, income and appetite. In addition, there is food waste that occurs with an estimated economic loss value in the BRI Faperta canteen of Rp1,437,420 / month with the raw weight approach and in the cooked weight approach of Rp2,532,981 / month, thus showing the percentage of economic losses in the BRI Faperta canteen which is 2.42%.

Abstract

Indonesia and Madagascar are world clove exporting countries, with India as the leading export destination and having quite a high demand.   This research aims to comparatively analyze the competitiveness of Indonesian and Madagascar cloves in the Indian market using the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) analysis tool, and the relationship between export value and volume to RCA is calculated using the Pearson product-moment correlation analysis technique 2012-2021. Research results show that the average RCA value for Indonesia is more excellent, 4.29, compared to Madagascar's 2.31, in 2012-2021, so cloves from Indonesia are more competitive than Madagascar cloves in India. The volume and value of clove exports to India from 2012 to 2021 had a strong and significant effect on the RCA value in Indonesia, while in Madagascar, it had no effect on the RCA value or a negative relation and was not significant.
