Abstract

Abstract

Inventory control of raw materials is very important at Zanada Tempe House so that soybeans can always be available without the need for additional inventory costs due to excess orders with an irregular schedule. Soybean raw materials that will be processed by Zanada Tempe House are only ordered based on estimated production needs, but have not implemented a certain inventory control model to maintain production success so that it remains economical. This study aims to determine the performance of the production process and control of soybean inventory as raw material for economical "Kizz Crunchy" chips at Zanada Tempe House. This research uses a qualitative design and case study method. All data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method. The results showed that the total cost of inventory based on company policies was almost two times greater than the calculation using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method. If the EOQ method can be applied, it is able to provide benefits because it can spend costs accurately and to a minimum, cost savings can be made up to 63%.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on changing people's consumption patterns to become healthier as seen from the increase in sales of vegetables by 1,900% during the PPKM 2021 period. This is an opportunity for vegetable entrepreneurs, such as the Koltivare Hydroponic Farm company. This study aimed to analyze: 1) The use of marketing communication strategies used by Koltivare Hydroponic Farm, 2) The impact of marketing communications on the volume of demand for vegetables. This research used a qualitative design with the analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman models based on triangulation of data collection techniques. The results of this study indicate that the Koltivare Hydroponic Farm company uses six forms of marketing communications: 1)Advertising which is a form of non-personal communication that aims to provide information and persuasion, both goods and services, 2) Direct marketing is communication that focuses more on direct relationships that are very close to the target market, 3) Interactive marketing is marketing that utilizes technological developments, such as internet, 4) Personal selling is a form of direct communication carried out by sellers to prospective buyers, 5) Sales promotion, namely attracting buyers to make purchases, and 6) Public relations is the creation of a positive image in maintaining relations between business companies and the community. Marketing communication activities that had the most impact on increasing sales volume and market expansion are personal selling, namely activities that meet directly with the target market so that consumers can immediately see the quality of the products purchased and interactive marketing through social media because this activity is able to attract buyers.

This home industry has not used the optimal inventory management method for purchasing raw materials so the supply of raw materials for producing sweet potato chips is lacking. This problem needs to control inventory to get optimal inventory of raw materials. The purpose of this study was to analyze the inventory of raw materials according to the Home Industry and the inventory of raw materials according to the EOQ method and the comparison of the raw material inventory system of the Home Industry with the Economic Order Quantity Method. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research design with case study techniques. The results showed that this home industry made purchases of raw materials for cilembu sweet potato as much as 11,760 kg/year with a purchase frequency of 12 times, the total inventory cost incurred was Rp. 7,980,000. Safety stock is not carried out due to shortage of raw materials. The reorder point is made when 150 kg of raw material remains, while according to the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, the optimal purchase of raw materials reaches 15,777.78 kg/year with a frequency of 12 times per a year. The total cost of inventory incurred is Rp. 5,634,839.9/year. Raw materials that need to be reserved are 116.7 kg/month. The reorder point is carried out when the remaining raw materials are 279.7 kg / month, therefore the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method can reduce the cost of inventory incurred and determine the optimal amount of raw material purchases.

Abstract

The underrepresentation of young people in the agricultural sector is a pervasive phenomenon that has been observed across various continents. This phenomenon has significant consequences, including the underrepresentation of youth in the agricultural workforce and the subsequent aging of the sector's labor force. The factors that motivate young people to pursue careers in agriculture are multifaceted such as income opportunities, social status, government assistance, and the family environment. The objective of this paper is to identify the factors that influence youth interest in agriculture in paddy production center area. To this end, a questionnaire survey was conducted among youth who are children of rice farmers in Karangligar Village, Telukjambe Barat District, Karawang Regency and analyzed youth perceptions using Rasch Modeling. The results of the study indicate that strong factors that influence youth interest in the agricultural sector are social factors, farmer income, and land resources. The occupation of farmer is considered to have a great influence on society. Conversely, factors such as income, societal influences, family dynamics, and policy frameworks have been identified as deterrents to youth interest in pursuing careers in agriculture. The findings underscore the imperative for comprehensive support programs aimed at fostering interest and engagement among young people in the agricultural sector. Such initiatives should encompass the provision of adequate agricultural education, facilitation of business processes, and promotion of entrepreneurship, encompassing agricultural financing, production, and marketing of agricultural products.

Abstract

AbstractSugarcane (Saccharum officinarum Linn) serves as a primary raw material for the sugar industry, which is one of the staple commodities for Indonesian consumption. The demand for sugar continues to rise due to population growth, both for household and industrial purposes. Geographically, sugarcane cultivation is concentrated in limited areas, primarily on the island of Java, with smaller distributions in Sumatra and Sulawesi. This study aims to identify and map the leading sugarcane-producing provinces in Indonesia. The analysis employs a typological approach that integrates the Location Quotient (LQ) and Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) methods. A province is considered a leading sugarcane-producing region if it has historically functioned as a production base and demonstrates the potential to remain a production center in the future, based on production trend analysis. The findings indicate that Central Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and South Sulawesi emerge as leading sugarcane-producing areas. However, paradoxically, two of these three regions contribute minimally to national sugarcane production, accounting for only 2.5% of total output. Moreover, 82% of the major sugarcane-producing provinces, despite serving as current production bases (based on LQ analysis), exhibit a declining production trend over the past decade (as indicated by DLQ analysis). These findings highlight the urgent need for strategic interventions to enhance sugarcane production growth in core production regions to ensure their sustainability in the future. Keywords: production base, trend analysis, sugar industry.
