Abstract

Background: Bone fracture is one of the most common injuries with a global prevalence in 2020 reaching 2.7% with 1.3 million fracture cases occurring annually in Indonesia. Postoperative pain is one of the impacts felt by patients. One pain management that can be done is non-pharmacological management by providing combination therapy between aromatherapy and guided imagery. However, this pain management needs to be studied further because differences in patient characteristics influence the response to each therapy given. Objective: To find out the application of combination therapy between aromatherapy and guided imagery in reducing pain levels. Case Report: This study is a case report with a 21-year-old male patient who came to the emergency department due to a traffic accident. The nursing diagnosis made in this patient was acute pain related to physical injury agents and the medical diagnosis was post-operative open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) cruris and right clavicle. The non-pharmacological management provided is in the form of aromatherapy using a diffuser containing 50 ml of water and 5 drops of lemon aroma essential oil, as well as guided imagery. Pain level evaluation was carried out before and after the intervention. Results: The application of lemon aromatherapy and guided imagery is effective in reducing post-operative pain, as evidenced by the pain scale being reduced from 8 to 3. Conclusion: The application of combination therapy between aromatherapy and guided imagery is effective in reducing pain levels in post-operative patients.

Abstract

Abstract

Public Service Innovations (PSIs) have improved public services and increased public values. However, previous studies have shown that public servants saw PSIs as risky interventions because of the perceived uncertain outcomes, lack of support and recognition, opposition against incumbent culture, and negative public scrutiny in case of failure. These perceived risks have led to risk-averse behaviour in public service and incremental or discontinued innovations. Earlier studies on PSIs’ continuity have focused on leadership, engagement, collaborations, and organisational cultures in developed countries. However, the mechanism of engagements, collaborations, organisational culture, and leadership types remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the characteristics of sustainable PSIs in Indonesia and how authorities are exercised. In doing so, 11 PSIs in Indonesian health services—facilitated by staff or leaders—are compared and contrasted. The findings indicate that staff-initiated PSIs are prompted by community needs, use routine visits as a collaboration mechanism, and engage more stakeholders. The shortcoming is that the staff-initiated PSIs need more formal team assignments. The advantage is that they strengthen social capital and decrease community health problems. On the other hand, PSIs that were initiated by formal leaders are stimulated by formal antecedents, such as low achievement of development targets. Leaders-initiated PSIs also use capacity development programs to collaborate and increase the achievement of development targets. A novel finding to add to previous studies is that collaborating with other existing programs contributes to PSIs’ continuity. The managerial implication of this study is to stimulate front-liners in initiating PSIs.

Abstract

The country's economy is supported by banking institutions. This is because the benefits of credit are greater compared to other bank businesses such as savings fund deposit services fees, interbank delivery service fees and so on. Internal factors that affect lending include CAR, ROA, NPL, LDR and BOPO. This research was conducted with the aim of simultaneously testing CAR, ROA, NPL, LDR and BOPO on bank credit distribution. The research sample is the bank with the largest number of assets in Indonesia. Data were obtained from the financial statements of the Persero's commercial banks from 2013 to 2017, using the panel data regression data analysis method. The results of hypothesis testing on CAR have a positive influence on lending, ROA also has a positive effect on lending, NPL has a negative effect, LDR has a positive effect, BOPO has a negative effect, whereas if tested simultaneously, CAR, LDR, NPL, LDR and BOPO has a positive effect on lending. With regard to the above conclusions, bank management should be able to take into account the trend of financial ratios for several years, before determining the lending policy
