Abstract

The agricultural and fisheries sectors in Wukirsari Village remain primary economic drivers. However, traditional fisheries management leads to inconsistent catfish and tilapia harvests and high feed costs, hindering Gapoktan Makaryo Nyoto from maximizing profits. The open-air location of the aquaculture development offers significant potential for utilizing sunlight to generate electricity. This study implements a Solar Power Plant (SPP) as a power source for aerators installed in biofloc ponds. The installation, operation procedures, maintenance, and repair of the SPP were socialized to Gapoktan Makaryo Nyoto members. The installed SPP successfully powered a 100W, 220V aerator, supplying oxygen to three biofloc ponds. Increased oxygen supply is expected to support fish growth. By the end of the program, Gapoktan Makaryo Nyoto members were proficient in operating and utilizing the SPP, leading to improved fish harvests and quality. Additionally, surplus power from the SPP was used for lighting the pond area.

Abstract

The Batanghari 1 Bridge serves as a vital link connecting Jambi City and Muaro Jambi Regency. Currently, the traffic density at the Batanghari intersection is notably high, particularly during peak hours, resulting in frequent traffic jams. To address this issue, the Perencanaan dan Pengawasan Jalan Nasional (P2JN) and Planning Consultants executed a Detailed Engineering Design (DED) Planning for the Duplication of the Batanghari 1 Bridge in 2021. The Duplication DED transformed the original intersection into a combination of an intersection and a U-turn. However, a notable challenge emerged during rush hours, especially for Jalan KH.A. Majid, where a U-turn is essential to cross the Batanghari Bridge. In this study, a traffic microsimulation was initiated at the Batanghari intersection. Using PTV Vissim software, microsimulations were conducted under three scenarios: Existing Condition, Detailed Engineering Design (DED), and an Alternative scenario, which involved incorporating a Flyover for KH.A. Majid Road towards Batanghari Bridge. Furthermore, traffic microsimulations were conducted to anticipate conditions over the next two decades. The analysis involved microsimulation using Vissim software, encompassing calibration, trial and error validation of the intersection model considering driver behavior, and GEH tests on traffic volume. The microsimulation results at the Batanghari intersection revealed that the alternative model effectively reduced queues, minimized delay times, and improved overall travel time compared to the proposed model.

Abstract

Road infrastructure is a critical component of land transportation systems, supporting both human mobility and the distribution of GOODs. To ensure user safety and comfort, roads must be maintained in optimal condition through appropriate and sustainable maintenance strategies. This study aims to formulate a road maintenance management strategy based on an analysis of the relationship between the International Roughness Index (IRI), as obtained through the Roadlab Pro application, and the extent of road damage as assessed by the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method and the Bina Marga standard. A quantitative-descriptive method was employed, focusing on a 3-kilometer section of the Pondok–Pulau Sangkar Road in Kerinci Regency. Data were collected through a seven-day field survey, which included IRI measurements and visual damage assessments. The analysis revealed a very strong negative correlation between IRI and PCI values, indicating that higher IRI scores correspond to worse road conditions. Based on these findings, three maintenance budget planning scenarios were proposed: (1) maintenance based on actual damage, (2) routine annual maintenance, and (3) road upgrading in the first year, routine maintenance in the second year, followed by periodic maintenance from the third to the fifth year. The cost estimates encompass periodic, preventive, corrective, and routine maintenance, providing a comprehensive basis for medium-term planning. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that IRI data obtained from Roadlab Pro can serve as a reliable and efficient reference for evaluating road conditions and developing effective maintenance strategies based on the PCI approach.

Abstract

This study examines the application of the Rescaled Adjusted Partial Sums (RAPS) method in validating traffic management risk analysis data in the category of large cities in Indonesia. The RAPS method is used to test the consistency and reliability of data that is the basis for traffic management risk analysis, so that it can ensure the validity of the risk assessment results. Data validation is very crucial in traffic management risk analysis to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the analysis results that are the basis for decision making. In order for the implementation of traffic management to be in accordance with the goals and objectives, traffic management analysis is needed to minimize the risk of failure of the implementation. Traffic management risk analysis in this study uses the Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) method. The data used are based on the results of filling out questionnaires from respondents, in the form of an assessment of three components, namely severity, occurrence, and detection for four indicators (road capacity, side obstacles, traffic conflicts, and traffic signs/markings) which have sub-indicators of the existing negative impacts. The data were validated to see the consistency of the data provided by respondents using the RAPS method. The results of the validation test using the RAPS method show that the data from the assessment of three components for four indicators that have sub-indicators of negative impacts are valid. And the test results show that the RAPS method is effective in identifying consistent and inconsistent data, thereby improving the quality of risk analysis data validation. With better validation, traffic management risk analysis can be carried out more precisely and efficiently.

Abstract

This research paper conducts an evaluation of residential satisfaction within government-provided four-storied apartment complexes situated in civil-servant housing areas in Naypyitaw City, Myanmar. As the construction of these apartment buildings continues to address the housing demands of civil servants, comprehending the determinants of residents' contentment becomes paramount. The study encompasses data collected from 500 households through structured questionnaires employing a multi-cluster sampling approach. These questionnaires utilize a five-point Likert Scale format to gauge residents' levels of importance and satisfaction. Gap Analysis is employed to scrutinize the gathered data, ultimately identifying seven pivotal attributes that hold the potential to substantially enhance residential satisfaction. These attributes encompass ceiling height, apartment layout plan, room and corridor dimensions, quantity of rooms, staircase design, neighborhood relations, and proximity to police stations. Based on these revelations, recommendations are tendered, advocating the modification and reevaluation of these attributes in forthcoming housing developments. This underscores the imperative need for creating a livable city by ensuring the provision of essential services in closed proximity to residential areas.
