Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education in public elementary schools and to develop a model for character strengthening based on local culture. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers, school principals, and parents. The results indicate that character education in elementary schools has not been systematically integrated into the curriculum and learning activities. Teachers have not fully assumed the role of value facilitators, and parental involvement remains limited. The rich local culture of Buton, which embodies moral values such as kabanti, kaghati, and gotong royong, has not been explicitly utilized as a resource for character learning. This study proposes a model of character education based on local culture, comprising five main components: an integrated curriculum, teacher role modeling, contextual learning, school–parent partnerships, and character evaluation based on local values. These findings are expected to provide a practical contribution to the development of contextual, sustainable character education that is deeply rooted in regional cultural identity.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the changing patterns of youth speech in the digital era, which are increasingly dynamic and tend to shift toward informal language use. The rapid development of technology and social media has significantly influenced communication practices, giving rise to phenomena such as code-mixing and inconsistencies in linguistic politeness. This condition is important to examine from an educational perspective, particularly in efforts to develop ethical and well-structured language behavior. The study aims to analyze speech patterns in social interactions and to identify the factors influencing them. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach to gain an in-depth and contextual understanding of speech pattern phenomena. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation to ensure rich and valid information. Data analysis follows the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification conducted iteratively to ensure credible and comprehensive findings. The findings indicate that speech patterns tend to be informal, involve code-mixing in communication, and show inconsistency in linguistic politeness. Technological advancement and social environment emerge as the main factors shaping these communication patterns. The study concludes that strengthening language education through more adaptive and contextual approaches is necessary to enhance language awareness, enabling individuals to communicate politely, effectively, and responsibly.

Abstract

Learning motivation is an important factor that influences students' success in the educational process, especially at the elementary school level. This study aims to determine how the conditions of the school and family environments affect students’ learning motivation. A conducive school environment and positive family support are believed to enhance students’ enthusiasm and willingness to learn. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire based on a Likert scale, which was distributed to students in grades IV, V, and VI. The instrument was tested for validity and reliability before being used for data collection. The results of the study show a significant relationship between the conditions of the school and family environments and the level of students’ learning motivation. A safe, clean school environment and harmonious relationships with teachers and peers positively impact students' motivation. Similarly, parental attention in supporting children’s learning at home serves as an essential supporting factor. In conclusion, students’ learning motivation is generally influenced by two main factors: a supportive school environment and a family that provides consistent attention and encouragement.

Abstract

Kulisusu language is one aspect of culture that can shape a person's identity and enrich the culture of students in North Buton Regency. In an educational context, the use of Kulisusu language can help students understand local values and culture around them. The aim of this research is to determine the formation of social values through the use of the Kulisusu language among elementary school students in North Buton Regency. This research is a qualitative descriptive research, using Field Research type of research, which is based on the results obtained through field research. Regarding the objects discussed in accordance with the reality that occurs in elementary schools in North Buton Regency. The approach used in this research is a semantic approach. The semantic approach is an approach to looking at speech forms and interpreting speech forms in the Kulisusu language. The data source required in this research is data obtained from informants or informants, in this case teachers who were randomly assigned to 20 teachers. The type of data used in this research is the use of the Kulisusu language. Data collection techniques use field observation with a persuasive approach to teachers, and interviews are conducted to obtain research results that are in accordance with the research. The results of this research show that the role of the Kulisusu language in increasing social values among students, thereby facilitating effective interpersonal interactions and encouraging the introduction of cultural identity. Concretely preserving local languages and culture, including including regional language education in the curriculum and promoting local media that uses regional languages. With this holistic approach, students can strengthen their cultural identity and pass it on to future generations

Abstract

Education is one of the most important factors in building and shaping one's character. The purpose of this research is to find out what the implementation of character education in State Elementary School 2 Nganganaumala is and to describe how character education is implemented in this school. This research method uses descriptive qualitative which is intended to describe and describe existing phenomena, both natural and empowering respondents, who pay more attention to the characteristics, quality, and interrelationships between research activities. The findings of this study indicate that: 1) the character values ​​applied are religious, responsibility, honesty, and tolerance. 2) Through habituation, implementation and concept of character education in State Elementary School 2 Nganganaumala. 3). The teacher's character education strategies include always reminding students of good things, issuing warnings, setting examples or being role models, engaging in routine or habituation activities, and increasing student awareness. 4) Barriers to the implementation of character education in State Elementary School 2 Nganganaumala are the factors of teachers, parents, environment, and students

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze how principal leadership contributes to the development of an adaptive educational management culture in elementary schools, particularly in responding to policy changes, learning needs, and the dynamics of school governance. Methods: This study employed a qualitative case study design involving three elementary schools: SD Negeri 2 Baubau, SD Negeri 2 Palatiga, and SD Negeri Palatiga. This study employed a qualitative case study design involving three elementary schools. Fifteen informants, consisting of three principals, nine teachers, and three educational staff members, were selected purposively. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Findings: The findings reveal that adaptive educational management culture is developed through five interconnected mechanisms: translating the school vision into daily work practices, strengthening participatory communication, involving teachers in decision-making and program implementation, promoting context-based program flexibility, and using reflective evaluation as a space for organizational learning. Research Implications: The study implies that principals need to strengthen collaborative governance, reflective supervision, teacher participation, and context-sensitive decision-making to build schools that are more responsive to institutional and pedagogical change. Originality: This study offers a contextual model of adaptive educational management culture by positioning principal leadership as a cultural and relational practice rather than merely an administrative function. lies in the placement of the principal's leadership as a cultural practice that constructs an adaptive management culture through social relations and organizational learning, not just an administrative function.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the forms of community collaboration in building and preserving a healthy environment in Boneoge Village, Lakudo District, Central Buton Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods to deeply understand community participation in environmental conservation activities. Data collection techniques were carried out through field observations, interviews with community leaders and residents, and documentation of community activities. The results of the study indicate that collaboration between the community, local leaders, and various related parties plays a significant role in increasing public awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and sustainability. Social activities such as community service, waste management, and environmental outreach can encourage the formation of collective community participation in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. In addition to having an impact on environmental conditions, these activities also strengthen social solidarity and public awareness in supporting sustainable environmental development.

Abstract

The problem or research objective, in this study was to determine the interest in learning towards the learning outcomes of mathematics in grade IV of Elementary School 2 Baadia Baubau city. The population of this study were students of grade IV with a total of 29 students, while the sample in this study was the entire population. The data collection method in this study uses questionnaired and test. The measurement scale used was the Likert scale. The research data is analyzed using Simple Linear Regression via SPSS v20 Software. Based on the result significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, it can be concluded that there was an influence of interest in learning towards learning outcomes and has a regression equation of Y = 1,151 + 1,219X while the coefficient of determination of interest in learning towards learning outcomes is 52,1%. The results of this study indicate that there was a significant influence of interest in learning towards the learning outcomes of mathematics in grade IV of Elementary School 2 Baadia Baubau City. It can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence between interest in learning towards the learning outcomes of mathematics in grade IV of Elementary School 2 Baadia Baubau City.
