This study investigated the maintainability of the traditional lexical housing of Batu Bara Malay. This study was kind of ecolinguistics. It was run by applying qualitative research methodology. The finding of this study total number lexical items related to housing in Batu Bara Malay are 210 lexical items. The lexical item is divided into 5 (five) classification. They are Top Parts, there are 37 lexical items consist of 21 items interior and 16 exteriors. Middle Parts, there are 55 lexical items consist of 45 items interior and 10 items exterior. Bottom Parts, there are 13 lexical items consist of 2 items interior and 11 items exterior. Outdoor Items, there are only consist of 27 items exterior, and Extended Items Related to Housing there are 78 items. The Most lexical items are the middle part among all classification. The least one is bottom parts. The new finding in this study, the use of lexical items related to house is at risk.

This article discuss about realization of Theme and Rheme in Mandailing song texts by Odang and Masdani. The objectives of this study are describe about realization of Theme and Rheme especially Theme and Rheme in Mandailing songs text. The song text is by Odang and Masdani,. The sources of the data was taken from the video recorded. The data of this article is lyric as a text that contain Theme and Rheme. The data analysis found six pattern of realization of Theme and Rheme used in Mandailing song texts of Odang and Masdani. Andin this study did not find pattern Theme and Rheme unity to Theme and Theme and Rheme unity to Rheme.

This study was aimed to develop humanitarian project-based material for productive written language skills subject for English Education Study Program at UNIMED. Research and Development (R&D) was the design of this study with the subjects of the study were 25 students of first semester students of English Education Study Program at UNIMED. The research procedures were adapted from Borg and Gall’s research theory (1983) namely 1)gathering data and information, 2)need analysis, 3)designing course material, 4)validating and evaluating new course material by the Experts, 5)revising the course material and 6)final product. The instruments of collecting the data were questionnaire, interview and expert judgement questionnaire. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively.. Based on the result of the expert judgement, the whole aspects of developed materials were in the range of 81-100% and were categorized as “very good”.

AbstrakPembelajaran bahasa Indonesia dalam Kurikulum 2013 berbasis teks. Langkah atau tahap dalam siklus pembelajaran berbasis teks itu sejalan dengan pembelajaran berdasarkan pendekatan ilmiah yang menjadi ciri pembeda Kurikulum 2013 dari kurikulum sebelumnya. Kesejalanan dan kesejajaran pembelajaran berbasis teks ini mendukung capaian integratif pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan sikap yang juga menjadi ciri pembeda Kurikulum 2013 dengan kurikulum sebelumnya. Selanjutnya, dengan pembelajaran berbasis teks itu peran alamiah bahasa sebagai penghela atau perealisasi ilmu pengetahuan dalam bentuk tata bahasa atau leksikogramar diperkuat. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia berperan lintas mata pelajaran, yang memperkuat cakupan belajar bahasa, belajar mengenai bahasa, belajar melalui bahasa, dan paradigma globalisasi dalam ilmu pengetahuan.Kata Kunci: pembelajaran berbasis teks, kurikulum 2013, pendekatan ilmiah AbstractCurriculum 2013 applies text-based approach for Indonesian learning. The stages or steps in this approach’s learning cycle are in accordance with the scientific based learning approach which differentiates Curriculum 2013 from the prior one. The equivalence and equality of this text-based learning supports integrative achievements of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that also differentiate Curriculum 2013 from the prior one. Then, by using that text-based learning, the language’s natural role as the trigger and realizer of knowledge in grammar and lexico-grammar is fortified. This way, Indonesian learning works across subjects, which fortifythe scope of learning the language, learning about the language, learning through language and the globalization paradigm of knowledge.Keywords: text-based learning, Curriculum 2013, scientific approach

Language learning in the curriculum in 2013 based on the text. Steps or stages in the cycle of text-based learning is consistent and aligned with the learning based on a scientific approach which characterizes the Curriculum 2013. Kesejalanan and alignment of the text-based learning supports the achievement of integrative knowledge, skills and attitudes that the distinguishing feature Curriculum 2013 and the previous curriculum. Furthermore, the text-based learning in the curriculum in 2013 the role of natural language as a draft or perealisasi science in the form of grammar or leksikogramar strengthened. Thus, the role of language learning across subjects is in line with the globalization paradigm in science.

Ketika menulis sesuatu (karya), pembelajar terlibat dalam kegiatan menghasilkan genre. Akan tetapi, menulis genre dalam bahasa Indonesia atau bahasa asing merupakan keterampilan berbahasa yang sangat sukar bagi pembelajar Indonesia untuk mencapainya. Keterampilan menulis dikembangkan secara bersahaja ketika anak memasuki sistem pendidikan formal, yang berbeda dengan keterampilan berbicara yang dapat diperoleh anak secara alamiah. Dengan demikian, kesukaran menulis yang dialami oleh pembelajar SD di Sumatra Utara diasumsikan diakibatkan oleh pengaruh konteks sosial persekolahan, masyarakat atau kedua-duanya. Makalah ini menampilkan hasil kajian tentang genre tulis yang terkembang dan potensial berkembang pada pembelajar SD. Selanjutnya, dibahas konteks sosial persekolahan dan masyarakat yang menghambat pengembangan menulis genre itu dengan sumber data (subjects) 352 pembelajar SD (kelas IV sampai VI) di enam sekolah di Sumatra Utara dan dengan penggunaan desain penelitian kualitatif. Temuan penelitian adalah pembelajar SD telah kompeten menulis sejumlah genre tetapi masih banyak genre yang terpendam. Hambatan dalam pembelajaran genre adalah kompetensi guru yang terbatas dalam genre itu. Selanjutnya, dengan rujukan ke kompetensi genre yang terkembang di kalangan pembelajar SD dan konteks sosial persekolahan, ancangan model pembelajaran genre diajukan.Kata kunci: pengembangan, genre, tulis, SD

This study aims at analyzing the reality and relation in Antara news article related to law revision of Corruption Eradication Commission (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi/KPK). The The reality is realized in experiential function that consists transitivity system while relation is revealed by logical function that consists of the status and its logico-semantic relation. The source of data of this study is Antara online news article. The data of this study is the clauses which are presented in the content of the news article. This study uses descriptive qualitative method by applying documentation technique and are analyzed by interactive model. After the data analyzed, it is found that the reality in Antara News realized in five of the six processes by having no occurence of behavioral process and the verbal one becomes its dominance. For its relation, both status of clause, either parataxis or hypotaxis are realized in Antara news article which are engaged in expansion and projection as the logico semantic relation. From the ten configurations of logical function, Antara News only has eight of them. The findings lead this research to have one conclusion that that Antara News, as the news article which is funded by Government is definetely pro to the government policy since they believe that the revision is prominent to strengthen the sustainability of KPK as an independent constitution to eradict coruption in Indonesia.

The aims of this study were to describe the kinds of Conversational Implicarture, to explain the ways of performing implicature and to describe the contex of implicature by Arsy And Arsya in Youtube channel. This research was conducted by using qualitative descriptive design. The data were the utterences of Arsy and Arsya in Youtube Channel. The data analyzes by using theory of conversational implicature.the result of this study were 1) the kinds of conversational implicatures used by Arsy and Arsya found in the text, they are Qualitative Maxim, Quantitative Maxim, Relevant Maxim, and Mannner Maxim. The analysis has found that Quantitative appeares in Arsy and Arsya YouTube Channel. (2)The process of conversational implicatures used by Arsy and Arsya in Wonderland YouTube Channel is realized through politeness strategies. (3) The reasons of the realization of conversational implicatures used by Arsy and Arsya in Wonderland YouTube Channel is realized through the system of tenor formed as [unequal/informal/positive/frequent]. It is found that there are are four. They are involved Bald on Record, Positive Politeness, Negative Politeness, and Off the Record. Off the record is the higher result found. Since she give codes to the hearer to get what her intentions, and it sometimes coded by gesture. . While in Arsya’s utterances, the types of politeness implicatures found are three. They are involved Bald on Record,Positive Politeness, and Off the Record. Off the record is the higher result found. This study deals with the realizations of violation maxims of main characters in Keluarga Beti comedy series. The objectives of the study were to describe realization of violation maxims used by main characters in Keluarga Beti comedy series. This research was conducted by qualitative design. The data were sentences of main characters which were violated. The data source of this research was taken from Keluarga Beti comedy series that was obtained from the video on YouTube. The finding of the data showed eleven realizations of violation maxim of main characters in Keluarga Beti comedy series as understating, overstating, using tautologies, contradiction, using irony, give hints, give association clues, be ambiguous, overgeneralize, and overstating and be ambiguous. The most dominant realization of violation maxim was being ambiguous. The less dominant realized of main characters in Keluarga Beti comedy series were understating and give association clues. The absence of the realizations of main characters in Keluarga Beti comedy series were metaphor, presuppose, and be vague. The researcher also found other realizations were unrelated statement and combination of overstating and be ambiguous. The aims of this study were to find out the kinds of figures of speech in surah Ar-Rahman, and to investigate realization of figures of speech in surah Ar-Rahman. The research was conducted by using qualitative descriptive design. The data of this study were 78 verses of surah Ar –Rahman. Besides, Miles, Huberman’s, and Saldana’s analysis applied in this study. In addition, Keraf theory (2004) was used in this study to find out kinds of figures of speech in surah Ar-Rahman, and Arp and Perrine theory (1963) was applied to investigate realization of figures of speech in surah Ar-rahman. The results of this study were (1) There were 10 kinds figures of speech in surah Ar-Rahman namely 3 Simile 2 Personifications 1 Apophasis 31 Repetition 2 Paralellism 1 Apostrophe 2 Pleonasm 1 Prolepsis 1 Antonomasia 1 Tautology (2) In realization figures of speech in surah Ar-rahman . ways in figures of speech in surah Ar-Rahman namely explicitly, comparing things, noun, repetition, synonym, denial, redundancy, substitution, and future.
