Abstract

This research examines the challenges of professionalism of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) through literature review. BK services have an important role in supporting students' academic and psychosocial development, but face obstacles such as the limited number of professional BK teachers and educational backgrounds that are not in accordance with the BK field. The non-ideal ratio of teachers to students and high workload also hamper the effectiveness of services. In addition, the management of services that are not yet based on student needs and the lack of continuous training are significant challenges. This study used a literature review method with descriptive analysis to identify these factors. The results suggest improving the quality of human resources through professional training, strengthening service management, and policy support from madrasahs and the government. The professionalism of counseling teachers has a direct impact on the quality of services that affect students' academic achievement and psychosocial well-being. The main recommendation is to increase the recruitment of qualified counseling teachers and continuous competency development to support effective and relevant counseling services in MAN.

Abstract

Guidance and Counseling Administration (BK) plays an important role in the smoothness and effectiveness of services provided to students. The completeness of BK administration includes various components such as recording student data, documenting activities, and planning BK programs. Although BK administration is often considered a routine administrative task, its completeness affects the quality of counseling services received by students. This article aims to review the importance of completeness of administration in BK, by discussing the main components that must be present in good and efficient BK administration. In addition, this article also explores the obstacles that are often faced in implementing BK administration in schools and how to solve these problems. Technology also plays an important role in facilitating completeness of administration, by providing a more structured and easily accessible system. Through existing literature, this article emphasizes that the completeness of good BK administration not only supports the counselor's duties in carrying out their functions, but also contributes to improving the quality of guidance services that are more optimal for student development.

Abstract

The management of Guidance and Counseling (BK) implementation in schools has a strategic role in supporting the optimal development of student potential. This research aims to analyze effective strategies in the management of guidance and counseling implementation based on literature studies from various scientific articles. Using the literature study method, this research examines the concepts, practices, and challenges in the management of guidance and counseling in schools. The results show that effective BK management involves optimizing all resources, such as educators, infrastructure, funds, and information systems, by referring to the POAC principle (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) as stipulated in Permendikbud Number 111 of 2014. The competence of counseling teachers is an important element to ensure that counseling services are relevant to students' needs, while inter-stakeholder collaboration and the fulfillment of adequate infrastructure are key to the success of the counseling program. Continuous evaluation is also needed to improve the effectiveness of counseling services. This study concludes that the implementation of planned and systematic management strategies can support the implementation of more effective counseling, thus making a significant contribution to the development of students' character, achievement and skills. Thus, counseling services can be an important pillar in achieving national education goals.

Abstract

The pervasive rise of live-streaming video game platforms has triggered concerns about behavioral addiction among adolescents, particularly in rapidly digitalizing societies like Indonesia. This study examines the efficacy of group-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in reducing live-streaming addiction symptoms among high school students. A quasi-experimental design with pre-test-post-test control group was implemented with 20 students (N=20) exhibiting moderate addiction levels, selected through purposive sampling. The experimental group (n=10) received five 45-minute sessions of manualized group CBT focusing on cognitive restructuring, while the control group (n=10) received standard group guidance. Results demonstrated significantly greater reduction in addiction scores for the experimental group (mean reduction=31 points, p=0.005) compared to controls (mean reduction=9 points, p=0.005), with large between-group effect size (p=0.000, r=0.65). Cognitive restructuring techniques effectively modified maladaptive thought patterns underlying compulsive viewing behaviors. The group modality enhanced treatment effectiveness through peer support and collective skill-building. These findings support the integration of evidence-based CBT protocols into school counseling services to address emerging behavioral addictions. Recommendations include counselor training in CBT techniques, development of culturally adapted interventions, and implementation of systematic screening for at-risk students. This study contributes to the growing literature on digital wellness interventions in educational contexts.

Abstract

This study explores the significant role of sociology in elementary education, emphasizing its function not only as a medium of knowledge transmission but also as a catalyst for social change. The purpose of this research is to provide a comprehensive theoretical understanding of how sociological approaches can strengthen the function of education in shaping social values and encouraging societal transformation. Using a literature study method, this research synthesizes academic books, journal articles, and research reports related to basic sociology concepts, characteristics, major sociological theories, and their relevance to elementary education. The analysis was conducted using a descriptive-analytical approach, systematically linking theoretical concepts to real phenomena in educational settings. The results show that the integration of sociological theories—such as functionalism, conflict theory, symbolic interactionism, cultural reproduction, and social capital—enhances the role of elementary education as a key agent of socialization. Elementary schools, through collaborative learning, multicultural education, and community involvement, can foster critical thinking, empathy, and social awareness among students. Thus, elementary education, when designed through a sociological perspective, has the potential to shape a more just, democratic, and culturally rich society.

Abstract

Primary education plays a strategic role in shaping children's character, cultural identity, and social skills. However, globalization and an overly cognitive-oriented educational approach have marginalized local cultural values. This study aims to analyze the application of anthropological perspectives in developing culture-based primary education. The research method employed is a literature review, examining various scientific articles, textbooks, and relevant studies published within the last 5–10 years. The findings reveal that integrating local culture into primary education strengthens students' sense of identity, increases learning motivation, and fosters adaptive and inclusive personalities. Culture-based education also plays a crucial role in transmitting core values from one generation to the next. Nevertheless, the implementation of culture-based education in Indonesia still faces challenges, including limited teacher training and a lack of culturally representative learning resources. To overcome these obstacles, it is essential to develop a curriculum based on local wisdom, provide continuous teacher training, and supply culturally sensitive teaching materials. Applying an anthropological perspective to primary education is a key strategy for nurturing a young generation with strong character and deep-rooted cultural identity.

Abstract

This article discusses four relevant learning models in the context of contemporary education: Project-Based Learning (PBL), Quantum Learning, Self-Directed Learning (SDL), and Contextual Learning. These four models have different yet complementary approaches to improving the quality of learning. PBL emphasizes project-based learning that engages students in solving real-world problems, while Quantum Learning focuses on developing students' potential through engaging and holistic learning experiences. SDL allows students the freedom to manage their own learning, while Contextual Learning connects subject matter to real-life situations to make learning more relevant. Each model has advantages and challenges that need to be considered in its implementation in the classroom. It is hoped that by implementing these models, the learning process will become more effective and enjoyable, and can prepare students to face future challenges.
