Abstract

Abstrak. Pembelajaran yang bermakna adalah pembelajaran yang dapat dengan mudah dipahami oleh peserta didik dan informasi-informasi yang diperoleh bisa bertahan lama di dalam Long Term Memory (LTM) peserta didik. Pembelajaran di masa pandemic Covid-19 yang dilakukan secara daring tentu tidak berbeda dengan pembelajaran yang dilakukan secara luring. Suatu model/strategi pembelajaran tetap bisa digunakan dalam pembelajaran, termasuk juga model pembelajaran RQAAD (Reading, Questioning, Answering, Analyzing, Discussing). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran RQAAD terhadap motivasi belajar dan keterampilan metakognisi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen yang membandingkan kelas yang diberi perlakuan menggunakan model pembelajaran RQAAD dan yang tidak menggunakannya. Motivasi belajar mahasiswa diukur dengan skala motivasi sedangkan keterampilan metakognitif diukur dengan rubrik keterampilan metakognitif. Penelitian dilakukan pada mahasiswa semester 3 tahun akademik 2020/2021 yang terdiri dari 62 mahasiswa. Pembelajaran RQAAD terbukti berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar dan keterampilan metakognitif mahasiswa yang menempuh matakuliah Strategi Belajar Mengajar Biologi. Rerata skor terkoreksi motivasi belajar kelas eksperimen 5,61 persen lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol dan rerata terkoreksi keterampilan metakognitif kelas eksperimen 16,01 persen lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol.Abstract. Learning during the COVID-19 pandemic that is done online is certainly no different from learning that is done offline. A learning model/strategy can still be used in learning, including the RQAAD (Reading, Questioning, Answering, Analyzing, Discussing) learning model. This study aims to determine the effect of the RQAAD learning model on student motivation and metacognitive skills. The research method used is quasi-experimental by comparing classes that are treated using the RQAAD learning model and those who do not. Student learning motivation is measured by the motivation scale while metacognitive skills are measured by the metacognitive skills rubric. The research was conducted on 3rd semester students of the 2020/2021 academic year consisting of 62 students. Learning RQAAD proved to have a significant effect on learning motivation and metacognitive skills of students taking Biology Teaching and Learning Strategies Course. The mean score of corrected learning motivation in the experimental class is 5.61 percent higher than the control class and the average corrected metacognitive skill in the experimental class is 16.01 percent higher than the control class.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pada abad 21 penggunaan sumber belajar yang menarik serta sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman akan membantu proses belajar, salah satu sumber belajar tersebut adalah e-book. Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan menghasilkan e-book yang praktis, efektif, dan valid. Model penelitian yang digunakan yaitu model ADDIE (Analysis, Desain, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Hasil pengembangan berupa buku ajar elektronik sistem ekskresi yang disajikan berbasis Brain-Based Learning dilengkapi video dan diagram roundhouse, terbagi menjadi 3 subbab yaitu sistem ekskresi, organ sistem ekskresi, gangguan dan teknologi pada sistem ekskresi. Kevalidan diperoleh melalui rerata validator ahli dan ahli pengguna sebesar 88,2 dengan kategori sangat valid. Kepraktisan diperoleh melalui nilai rerata observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, hasil uji keterbacaan, dan hasil respon siswa sebesar 93 dengan kategori sangat praktis. Keefektifan diperoleh berdasarkan peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif menggunakan uji n- gain sebesar 0,81 dengan kategori peningkatan tinggi dan hasil pengukuran minat siswa menggunakan angket minat belajar sebesar 91,4 dengan kategori sangat berminat. Abstract. In the 21st century, use of interesting learning resources and in accordance with the times will help the learning process, one of these learning resources is an e-book. This development research aims to produce an e-book that is practical, effective, and valid. The research model used is the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of the development are in the form of an electronic textbook of excretory systems presented based on Brain-Based Learning equipped with videos and roundhouse diagrams, divided into 3 subsections, namely the excretory system, excretory system organs, disturbances and technology in the excretory system. Validity is obtained through the average expert validator and expert user of 88,2 with a very valid category. Practicality is obtained through the average value of observation of learning implementation, readability test results, and student response results of 93 with a very practical category. Effectiveness was obtained based on the improvement of cognitive learning outcomes using the n-gain test of 0,81 with a high increase category and the results of measuring student interest using a learning interest questionnaire of 91,4 with a very interested category.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to test the effectiveness of Moodle-based Digital Assessment as an assessment instrument to measure scientific literacy possessed by junior high school students in Jember and Probolinggo, Indonesia especially on environmental pollution. Method: This type of research is development research with a 4D model that Defined, Designed, Developed, and Disseminated. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis and calculation of scientific literacy.  Result: For the results small-scale trial, most students were in the high category. The results of the large-scale test for junior high school in Jember, Indonesia show most students in the medium category. The results of the large-scale test for junior high school in Probolinggo, Indonesia show most students in the high category. The results of this study prove Digital Assessment developed is very effective for measuring the scientific literacy of junior high school students, especially regarding environmental pollution. Novelty: Researchers have never previously conducted research that developed a Moodle-based Digital Assessment to measure the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

The emphasis on 21st-century skills, particularly critical and creative thinking, has driven educational advancements, including technology integration through frameworks like TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge). This study examines the effectiveness of RFDT (Reading, Finding, Discussing, and Talking) learning grounded in TPACK to enhance students' critical and creative thinking. Using a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design, 30 biology education students in professional education courses were assessed through critical and creative thinking essay tests administered before and after TPACK-based RFDT learning. Findings reveal a significant improvement in both critical thinking scores (from 62.3 to 77.63) and creative thinking scores (from 61.8 to 80.76), with p < 0.05. These results highlight the potential of TPACK-based RFDT in developing essential thinking skills, promoting a dynamic and interactive learning environment. Future research with a larger sample and advanced experimental designs is recommended to validate these findings further.Abstrak. Penekanan pada keterampilan abad ke-21, terutama berpikir kritis dan kreatif, telah mendorong kemajuan pendidikan, termasuk integrasi teknologi melalui kerangka TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge). Studi ini meneliti efektivitas pembelajaran RFDT (Reading, Finding, Discussing, and Talking) berbasis TPACK dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif siswa. Dengan menggunakan desain pra-eksperimen pretest-posttest satu kelompok, 30 mahasiswa program studi pendidikan biologi yang mengikuti mata kuliah profesi kpendidikan  dinilai melalui tes esai berpikir kritis dan kreatif yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran RFDT berbasis TPACK. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada skor berpikir kritis (dari 62,3 menjadi 77,63) dan skor berpikir kreatif (dari 61,8 menjadi 80,76), dengan p < 0,05. Hasil ini menunjukkan potensi RFDT berbasis TPACK dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir yang esensial, serta mendorong lingkungan belajar yang dinamis dan interaktif. Penelitian selanjutnya dengan sampel yang lebih besar dan desain eksperimental yang lebih kompleks direkomendasikan untuk memperkuat temuan ini.

Abstract

The study aims to investigate the importance of infusing SSI (Socioscientific Issue) into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)-based Biotechnology learning by capturing the perceptions of students in Natural Science and Social Science. This is intended to make learning more effective because it helps students to achieve the comprehension of the material being taught. The research apply mix methods by capturing quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data are collected from the percentage of answers from 291 students who have filled out quizzes through online surveys. While qualitative data is collected from garnering students’ answers through unstructured interviews. The results showed that students of Natural Science discussed biotechnology more technically and normatively resulting in product effects, while students of Social Science focused more on the policy and risk aspects of biotech products. It is the difference in perception between the two majors that requires the SSI approach to be infused into the STEM approach. The benefits of such infusionare improved students' HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills), which is in line with the current learning trend of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Abstract

This community service project aims to enhance teachers' pedagogical skills at Rambipuji Jember State High School through training in Quantum Teaching integrated with Augmented Reality (AR). Integrating technology into education is crucial to creating a more interactive and engaging learning environment in today's digital era. Quantum Teaching employs a blend of techniques to boost learning effectiveness, which can deliver a more immersive educational experience when supported by AR technology. The project uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, involving stages that start with an introduction to Quantum Teaching and AR, followed by practical workshops where teachers develop AR-based learning materials aligned with the curriculum. The training also includes evaluation sessions to assess teachers' grasp of the concepts taught. As a result, the teachers' understanding of these innovative teaching methods improved, enabling them to design and implement AR-supported lessons in their respective subjects. This initiative has significantly bolstered the pedagogical competencies of Rambipuji Jember State High School teachers, enhancing the school's capacity to become a model for other institutions in adopting technology-driven teaching strategies. The project's outcomes suggest a broader potential for these approaches to influence educational practices beyond the local context, encouraging continuous advancements in technology-integrated learning.

Abstract

Metacognition refers to the capacity for supervising, arranging, and directing the process of learning, while argumentation skills encompass the aptitude to construct and validate logical points. Proficiency in problem-solving holds a crucial role within the realm of scientific education. This research aims to explore the interconnection between metacognitive skills, argumentation skills, and problem-solving abilities in the domain of biology education. Employing a correlational research design, the investigation encompassed 118 students engaged in biology studies within the University of Jember's Biology Education Study Program during the academic term of 2022/2023, specifically within the Introduction to Education Science course. The research instrument utilized was a survey featuring 10 queries for each category—metacognitive skills, argumentation skills, and problem-solving abilities. Statistical analysis involved inferential methods, particularly multiple linear regression correlation. The findings unveiled a positive correlation between students' metacognitive skills and argumentation skills and their adeptness in problem-solving within the context of biology learning, signified by a noteworthy p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This finding shows the importance of developing metacognitive skills and argumentation skills in improving students' problem solving abilities in learning. The implication of this finding can be used to design more effective learning strategies in improving metacognitive skills, argumentation skills and students' problem solving in biology subjects

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh profesionalisme dan kesejahteraan guru terhadap kinerja mereka sebagai upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah meta-analisis, yang mengumpulkan dan mengkaji data sekunder dari 13 artikel penelitian terdahulu, terdiri dari 9 artikel jurnal nasional dan 4 artikel jurnal internasional. Data dikumpulkan melalui penelusuran literatur yang relevan dan dianalisis secara kualitatif untuk mengidentifikasi pola hubungan antara variabel penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profesionalisme guru, yang mencakup kompetensi pedagogik, sosial, dan profesional, memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja guru dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang efektif dan inovatif. Demikian pula, kesejahteraan guru, baik dari aspek finansial, psikologis, maupun sosial, berkontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan produktivitas kerja. Namun, kesejahteraan yang berlebihan berpotensi menciptakan zona nyaman yang menghambat motivasi untuk berkembang lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan strategi peningkatan kesejahteraan guru melalui dukungan finansial dan psikologis yang seimbang, serta penguatan profesionalisme melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan dan supervisi yang efektif. Implikasi dari penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar untuk merancang kebijakan pendidikan yang berfokus pada keseimbangan antara kesejahteraan dan peningkatan profesionalisme guna mendukung kualitas pembelajaran yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

SDN Temenggungan, a public elementary school in the center of Banyuwangi City, faces various challenges related to parental participation, limited facilities, and conflicts with the local community. The community service program that was implemented was planned for two years with the aim of improving the quality of education in this school through the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum (Kurmer). In the first year, the program focused on teacher training, curriculum development, and increasing parental participation. The community service method used was participatory action, involving all related parties actively in the process of diagnosing problems, planning actions, implementing, evaluating, and specifying recommendations. The results of the activities showed that the implementation of Standards 1-4 went well, teachers successfully implemented innovative teaching methods, and students showed increased participation. Although social and economic challenges still exist, significant progress has been made in creating a more inclusive learning environment and supporting student development. This program provides a strong foundation for schools to continue to improve the quality of education and overcome future challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh 5E Instructional Model disertai case method terhadap kemampuan critical thinking dan hasil belajar siswa biologi. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan bentuk penelitian quasi experiment. Desain penelitian yang digunakan ialah pretest-posttest control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel ialah purposive sampling melalui uji kesetaraan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 36 siswa X3 sebagai kelas kontrol, 36 siswa X2 sebagai kelas eksperimen II, dan 36 siswa X4 sebagai kelas eksperimen I, Tempat penelitian ialah di SMAN 1 Jember pada semester gasal tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan K-Independent Samples yakni Kruskal Wallis dengan uji lanjut Mann Whitney karena hasil uji normalitas dan homogenitas tidak memenuhi syarat uji parametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh 5E Instructional Model disertai case method terhadap kemampuan critical thinking dan hasil belajar siswa.
