Abstract

You Only Look Once (YOLO). Abstract Natural disasters are events that can cause damage and create havoc. Buildings that collapse and can cause injury and death to victims. Humans can not predict the location and timing of natural disasters. After the natural disaster, the first thing to do is find and save trapped victims. The handling of rapid evacuation must be done by the SAR team to help victims to reduce the amount of loss due to natural disasters. But in reality, the process of evacuating victims of natural disasters is still a lot of obstacles experienced by the SAR team. It was starting from the difficulty of the terrain that is reached to the limited equipment needed. In this study, a natural disaster victim detection system was designed using image processing that aims to help find victims in difficult or vulnerable locations when directly reached by humans. In this study, a detection system for victims of natural disasters was implemented which aims to help develop equipment for the SAR team to find victims of natural disasters based on image processing. The algorithm used is You Only Look Once (YOLO). In this study, two types of YOLO algorithms were compared, namely YOLOv3 and YOLOv3 Tiny. From the test results that have been obtained, the F1 Score reaches 95.3% when using YOLOv3 with 100 training data and 100 test data.

Abstract

Indonesia is susceptible to natural disasters, with its geographical location being one of the contributing factors. To mitigate the harmful effects of natural catastrophes, a disaster emergency response must be undertaken, consisting of steps taken immediately following the event. These operations include rescuing and evacuating victims and property, addressing basic needs, providing protection, and restoring buildings and infrastructure. Accurate data is required for adequate recovery after a disaster. The Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) oversaw disaster relief efforts, but faulty damage assessments slowed restoration. Surveyor subjectivity and differing criteria result in discrepancies between reported damage and reality, generating issues during the post-disaster reconstruction. The objective of this study is to develop a prediction system to measure the extent of damage caused by natural disasters to buildings. The five criteria that decide the level of building damage after a disaster are building conditions, building structure condition, physical condition of severely damaged buildings, building function, and other supporting conditions. The data used are from the BPBD of Malang city from 2019 to 2023. This system would allow surveyors to make speedy and objective evaluations. Five different models were tested using the Neural Network Backpropagation approach. Model A2 produces the highest accuracy of 93.81%. A2 uses a 40-38-36-34 hidden layer pattern, 1000 epochs, and a learning rate 0.1. These findings can lay the groundwork for advanced prediction models in post-disaster building damage evaluation research.

Abstract

The emergence of AI writing tools —knowledgeable writing assistants —is very helpful for students in improving their writing skills. However, no reviews or studies discussed using AI writing software to support students' paraphrasing skills. This systematic literature review (SLR) explores the applications of AI writing tools for improving paraphrasing skills, the aspects that can be improved, and the weaknesses to anticipate when using intelligent writing assistants. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) that reviewed primary studies from journals indexed by Scopus, Elsevier, and ProQuest between 2021 and 2025. One thousand four hundred ninety-seven raw articles were found in the search. Thirty-three articles were removed due to duplication. Verification of titles and abstracts resulted in 98 articles. The final step was full-text screening. The final screening results determined 22 articles that met the criteria. The review's findings explain the strengths and weaknesses of each AI used for paraphrasing. The findings also provide suggestions for further research in improving paraphrasing skills.

Abstract

Grape cultivation has gained increasing attention due to its short growing period and the high market value of its sweet, refreshing fruits. However, achieving optimal growth requires precise environmental and nutrient management, which can be challenging under conventional farming practices. This research aims to develop an automatic watering system that integrates soil moisture and nutrient monitoring to optimize grape cultivation. The system utilizes Nitrogen Phosphorus Potassium (NPK) sensors, soil moisture sensors, and a camera for growth observation, all connected through the internet of things (IoT) for remote monitoring via Android devices. A fuzzy logic controller is implemented to regulate watering duration based on environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. Experimental results show that the system effectively adjusts watering duration to approximately six seconds when the temperature is between 25–32 °C and humidity is around 60%. The DS18B20 temperature sensor achieved an average error rate of only 0.12%, while the humidity sensor demonstrated 0.2% error, indicating high accuracy levels of 99.8%. Despite minor limitations related to internet stability and sensor calibration, the system demonstrates strong potential for commercial-scale smart farming applications, promoting resource-efficient and data-driven grape cultivation.
