This study aims to look at the effect of foreign ownership, managerial and institutional on company leverage. This study uses secondary data obtained from sharia-based manufacturing companies, namely financial reports for a period of 5 years (2016-2021). Data includes foreign ownership, managerial, institutional, leverage, and financial performance. SPSS version 20 was used to analyze the data. Regression techniques are used in evaluating the correlation between the selected variables. The analysis also involves figuring out the various correlation coefficients in the model to establish connections. The results of the study are as follows: foreign ownership has a significant positive effect on leverage, managerial ownership has no significant effect on leverage, foreign ownership has a significant positive effect on leverage, leverage has a significant negative effect on financial performance, leverage mediates significantly between foreign ownership variables on financial performance, leverage does not mediate significantly between managerial ownership variables on financial performance, and Leverage mediates significantly between institutional ownership variables on financial performance. The conclusion of this study is that foreign ownership has more influence on leverage when compared to managerial ownership. Leverage mediates foreign and institutional ownership significantly to financial performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge about productive waqf and trust in waqf managers on the perception of economic benefits and the interest of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in participating in productive waqf in Surakarta. The research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected from 191 MSME respondents selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using the Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results indicate that knowledge about productive waqf has a positive and significant effect on both the perception of economic benefits and the interest of MSMEs in productive waqf. Trust in waqf managers also shows a positive and significant influence on the perception of economic benefits and MSME interest. Furthermore, the perception of economic benefits has a positive and significant effect on MSME interest in productive waqf and acts as a partial mediating variable in the relationship between knowledge and trust toward MSME interest. The findings of this study affirm that improving knowledge and trust in waqf management institutions can strengthen the perception of economic benefits, which in turn increases MSMEs’ interest in participating in the development of productive waqf in Surakarta.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and compare the operational efficiency of sharia banking in Indonesia and Malaysia using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method, a non-parametric approach that is able to measure relative efficiency based on input and output. The research gap lies in the lack of comparative analysis of Islamic banking efficiency in the two countries, especially using the DEA method. The research sample consists of sharia banking financial reports in Indonesia and Malaysia during the 2019–2023 period. The research results show that both countries have a high level of technical efficiency, with an average efficiency close to 1. Bank B in Indonesia and Bank F in Malaysia show stable efficiency performance, while Bank D shows significant fluctuations. Further analysis reveals that there is no significant difference in operational efficiency between the two countries. This research contributes by providing in-depth insight into the efficiency of sharia banking and becomes a reference for regulators and banking managers in improving operational strategies. Research limitations include limited data coverage on financial variables and certain periods. For future research, it is recommended to include non-financial variables and expand the analysis period.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the effect of job satisfaction, burnout, and organizational commitment on employee retention at Hajj and Umrah travel agencies in Bali. The industry faces challenges in retaining employees due to the seasonal and intensive nature of the work. Using quantitative methods and SEM-PLS analysis, data from 150 respondents were analyzed to explore the relationships between variables. The results showed that job satisfaction has a significant influence on employee retention and organizational commitment, where satisfied employees tend to be more emotionally attached to the company and stay longer. On the other hand, burnout has a negative impact on affective commitment, but normative commitment still makes employees stay. Organizational commitment also acts as a mediator between job satisfaction and burnout on retention, strengthening employees' intention to remain in the company. Overall, this study provides important insights for the management of Hajj and Umrah travel agencies in designing strategies to increase job satisfaction, manage burnout, and strengthen employee commitment in order to retain a competent workforce.

Abstract

Manufacturing can increase competitiveness and reduce costs by improving production efficiency. The study’s goal is to develop a production prediction system using the fuzzy Tsukamoto technique. This method is used to model the uncertainty that occurs during the production process. Thus, production planning based on demand and inventory availability can be more accurate. After being tested on production data from a manufacturing company, the fuzzy Tsukamoto method showed the ability to make more efficient decisions than conventional methods. This system not only significantly reduces production costs but also improves overall operational efficiency, including resource management, waste reduction, and cycle time optimization. The adoption of this method provides added value to companies in facing increasing market competition while keeping production costs low without compromising quality.

Abstract

Abstract. The projected growth of the halal industry to reach USD 3.6 trillion by 2026 emphasises the importance of strengthening halal compliance and fiqh legitimacy amid technological advances. This study aims to synthesise the relationship between fiqh, halal compliance, and the suitability of cross-sector sharia economic products using a PRISMA-based Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. From 810 documents in Scopus, 20 articles were selected for analysis using thematic techniques, identifying patterns, gaps, and relationships between fiqh, sharia governance, fintech, and market response. The SLR results revealed four main clusters: (1) fiqh framework and financial product contract evaluation; (2) the role of DPS in sharia governance; (3) fintech innovations such as AI–NLP and crowdfunding; (4) consumer perceptions of halal product halalness. This study developed a three-dimensional conceptual model that integrates fiqh, sharia governance, and market feasibility. The contributions of this research include: (1) consolidation of fiqh with product feasibility analysis; (2) understanding of digital sharia compliance mechanisms; (3) a conceptual basis for regulators and industry in designing halal and competitive sharia products.
