Abstract

Islam came with the spirit of scientific progress for mankind.  The Prophet Muhammad SAW as the bearer of the Islamic message with his tarbiyah system which emphasized faith, love of knowledge, beauty of morals and role models succeeded in bringing a nation that was previously left behind to become an advanced nation and become the center of scientific civilization.  However, unfortunately this glory is only a memory, because Muslims themselves are starting to abandon their teachings and have forgotten the concepts established by their Prophet.  Now Muslims are again facing new challenges with the emergence of pluralism which is felt to have invaded the world of education.  This understanding of pluralism is certainly dangerous for the young generation of Muslims, because this understanding of pluralism instills the teachings of relativism, gives a wrong understanding of tolerance, and dwarfs Islamic law.  So to fight this pluralism, it is necessary to re-implement the Nabawiyah tarbiyah concept in the education system.  Because the main root of this pluralism is Muslims' ignorance of the true teachings of Islam, so they are easily influenced by outside whispers.

Abstract

The growing awareness among Muslim consumers regarding the significance of halal and ethical standards in food has prompted businesses, including poultry slaughterhouses, to integrate sharia-compliant principles into their marketing practices. This research investigates the influence of Islamic marketing on customer loyalty, considering customer satisfaction as a mediating factor. Employing a quantitative method, data were gathered from 155 purposively selected consumers in Surakarta who had purchased from chicken slaughterhouses. A structured questionnaire using a Likert Scale was utilized, and data were analyzed through the SEM-PLS technique. Findings reveal that while Islamic marketing exerts a positive yet statistically insignificant impact on customer loyalty, it significantly enhances customer satisfaction. Moreover, customer satisfaction positively and significantly influences loyalty and acts as a significant mediator between Islamic marketing and loyalty. This study provides theoretical contributions by expanding the scope of Islamic marketing studies in the primary food sector, as well as practical contributions in the form of recommendations for marketing strategies that are in accordance with Islamic values. The social implications are increased awareness of the importance of halal consumption and encouragement for local business actors to consistently implement business practices that are in accordance with sharia principles.

Abstract

Engaging in financial transactions (muamalah) must adhere to sharia principles to ensure ethical and just practices, particularly in modern innovations such as PayLater systems. This study aims to analyze the alignment of PayLater transactions on Indonesian e-commerce platforms with sharia business principles. The research adopts a qualitative design with literature study approach. Data were collected through documentation methods, including journals, articles, and websites. The analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, involving three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that PayLater transactions in Indonesian e-commerce platforms are largely inconsistent with sharia business principles. These inconsistencies include the presence of riba (usury) in the form of interest-based charges, gharar (uncertainty) in unclear contractual terms, violations of ba’i (trade ethics), and a lack of fairness in penalty structures. The study highlights the need for reforming PayLater systems to ensure compliance with Islamic principles and foster ethical financial practices.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of influencer credibility and online customer reviews on the purchase decision of Heylocal Muslim fashion products, with brand trust as a mediating variable. Employing a quantitative approach, data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale, distributed to consumers who had previously purchased Heylocal products and were exposed to influencer campaigns and online reviews. A purposive sampling technique was applied to select relevant respondents, and the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) via SmartPLS software. The results show that influencer credibility significantly affects brand trust but does not directly influence purchase decisions. In contrast, online customer reviews positively influence both brand trust and purchase decisions. Moreover, brand trust mediates the relationship between both influencer credibility and online reviews with purchase decisions. While the quantitative approach offers statistical robustness, future research may benefit from incorporating qualitative insightssuch as in-depth interviews to capture the nuanced motivations behind consumer trust and decision-making. These findings emphasize the strategic value of integrating credible influencers and customer reviews in digital marketing to foster brand trust and stimulate consumer purchases.

Abstract

This study investigates the phenomenon of halal food fraud in Indonesia, particularly focusing on its forms, drivers, and impact on Muslim consumer trust. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a single case study method that focuses on the city of Surakarta (Solo), Central Java. The data presented herein was collected through a document analysis. The selection of Surakarta as a case study was predicated on its notable concentration of Muslim residents, its rapid growth in the culinary sector, and its status as a major center of Islamic education and culture in urban areas. The research findings revealed ten main forms of halal violations, including the covert use of haram ingredients, fake halal labeling, and improper handling of halal equipment. The prevalence of such fraudulent practices can be attributed to the overarching economic motivations inherent within a capitalist-secular system that places a higher value on profit than on ethical and religious obligations. The study also found significant erosion of Muslim consumer trust due to repeated violations, and demonstrated that non-Muslim business owners' lack of understanding of halal-haram values, coupled with weak law enforcement, exacerbates the problem. This study makes a significant contribution to the existing body of knowledge by offering a novel synthesis of moral, ideological, and legal perspectives on food fraud in Indonesia. The present study underscores the significance of systemic reform by proposing two levels of solutions: (1) short-term practical measures, such as digital tracking, halal literacy programs, and regulatory strengthening; and (2) long-term ideological transformation through the adoption of a comprehensive Islamic framework to ensure moral accountability in the food supply chain.

Abstract

This research aims to determine and analyze the determinant factors in decision making to become a Muslimpreneur by conducting a survey at the Indonesia Islamic Business Forum, Bandung City. By using the causality method with a quantitative approach, this research analyzed 236 respondents who were members of IIBF Kota Bandung. To prove the hypothesis, the collected data was analyzed using the toolPatrial Least Square - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through the SmartPLS application. This research shows that the variables of interest and level of religiosity influence the decision making to become a Muslimpreneur. This finding confirms that the factors of interest and level of religiosity are very important in encouraging the growth of Islamic entrepreneurship. In order to increase entrepreneurs and Muslimpreneurs in Indonesia, the role of the government and the Muslimpreneur community will be very necessary in socializing and re-promoting the concept of Muslimpreneurs or Islamic Entrepreneurship on various platforms optimally, such as social media, seminars, workshops and several other media. This study is the first in testing the determinant factors of decision making to become a Muslimpreneur in IIBF Bandung City members. This study successfully revealed the strengths and weaknesses of interest factors and levels of religiosity in influencing decision making to become a Muslimpreneur.

Abstract

Zakat management in Indonesia faces significant challenges in achieving efficiency, even though the potential for national zakat is very large per year. The actual collection, which remains below 10% of this potential, indicates that the performance of zakat management institutions both governmental and non-governmental has yet to be optimized. This study aims to measure the efficiency levels of zakat management institutions in Indonesia, identify the factors that influence their efficiency, and analyze the differences in efficiency based on institutional clusters: government, civil society organizations, and corporate-based institutions. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) applied to the audited financial reports of 14 zakat institutions over the period 2019–2023. Input variables included total operational costs, personnel expenses, and total assets, while output variables consisted of the amount of zakat collected and distributed. The findings reveal that not all institutions operate at optimal technical efficiency. Zakat institutions managed by civil society organizations demonstrated the highest efficiency, followed by corporate-based institutions, with government institutions showing the lowest levels of efficiency. The variation in efficiency across clusters is attributed to differences in organizational structure, decision-making flexibility, technological adoption, and community engagement. This study provide critical implications for improving zakat governance and offer strategic insights for policymakers and zakat managers to enhance institutional efficiency and maximize the potential of zakat funds in Indonesia.
