Abstract

This study aims to help teachers improve the quality of learning by improving the classroom climate, increasing their ability to carry out classroom action research and writing research articles. This article was written as a report of activities that have been carried out to improve classroom climate, including: 1) preliminary study to ensure the need for improvement in class climate, 2) initial assessment (assessment) to capture classroom climate, 3) Provide feedback to teachers and principals about the difference between the actual classroom climate and the preferred climate of the class (preferred climate) by students, 4) Proposing steps to improve the classroom climate as desired by students. The results showed that in general the actual climate of the class was lower than the preferred climate of the students. However, several scales such as competition, difficulty, and bullying in the preferred climate are generally lower than those experienced by students (actual climate). For this reason, treatment steps are needed to make these scales match what students want.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a school supervision model based on organizational culture and leadership to enhance the professional competence of junior high school teachers in Sawahlunto. The study employed a developmental approach comprising literature review, initial condition mapping, model development, and limited trial implementation. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires from 31 teachers and 3 school principals. The findings indicate that current supervision practices are predominantly administrative and mechanistic, providing limited empowerment for teachers as learning agents. The developed supervision model integrates three core elements: Minangkabau-based organizational culture, inspirational and participatory leadership, and reflective-participatory supervision. Implementation of the model demonstrated a 15–20% improvement in teachers’ professional competencies, particularly in lesson planning, use of educational media and technology, and assessment practices. The study highlights that effective supervision must be contextual, empowering, and integrated with school culture and leadership. The proposed model offers a strategic alternative for strengthening teacher professionalism, improving school climate, and promoting participatory school management reform.

Abstract

Teacher performance as State Civil Apparatus (ASN) plays an important role in improving the quality of education. However, the implementation of the E-SIKAP application in elementary schools still faces several problems, such as delays in reporting, inconsistency in task implementation, and suboptimal supervision. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of supervision on ASN performance through the E-SIKAP application in public elementary schools throughout Batang Anai District. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population consisted of ASN working in public elementary schools, with 168 respondents selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, linearity tests, simple linear regression, t-tests, and coefficient of determination tests using SPSS 31 for Windows. The findings showed that supervision was categorized as very good, with a Total Respondent Achievement Level (TCR) of 91.21%, while ASN performance through the E-SIKAP application was also categorized as very good. Hypothesis testing indicated that supervision had a significant effect on ASN performance, with a significance value of <0.001. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.922, indicating that supervision contributed 92.2% to ASN performance. The study concludes that effective and technology-based supervision can improve ASN discipline, responsibility, and work accountability. Therefore, school principals are expected to strengthen supervision and optimize the implementation of E-SIKAP to improve ASN performance in elementary schools.

Abstract

Library management is an important aspect in improving the quality of school library services. However, several problems are still found in school libraries, such as inadequate facilities and infrastructure, unsystematic collection arrangement, and library services that are not yet optimal. The results showed that library management was in the fairly good category with a Respondent Achievement Level (TCR) of 76.06%, while library services were in the fairly good category with a TCR of 73.93%. The Pearson Product Moment correlation test showed a correlation coefficient value of 0.329 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that there was a positive and significant relationship between library management and library services. In addition, the t-test results showed that the t-count value was 5.074 greater than the t-table value of 1.971 (5.074 > 1.971), meaning that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the better the library management, including planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision, the better the quality of library services received by students.

Abstract

School climate is a situation formed by a relationship between the principal and teachers, teachers and teachers, teachers and staffs, teachers and students or relationships among students that characterizes a school and distinguishes a school from others.  School climate might influence and determine the success of teaching and learning process at schools.  The school climate consists of at least four dimensions, namely dimension of relationship, personal growth/development, system maintenance and change, and dimension of physical environment.  Based on the studies done in several countries, school climate can be a variable influencing other variables, such as learning achievement, behavior and teacher job satisfaction, teacher work motivation, teacher morale, teacher creativity, teacher work performance, and teacher discipline. So, when the school principal wants to improve those practices, he or she has to make better school climate through common stages namely preliminary assessment, feedback, reflection and discussion, intervention, and finally reassessment.
