Abstract

Long bean is a well-known horticultural commodity in people's lives with quite high nutritional value. This study aims to determine the effect of paclobutrazol concentrations and doses of Urea fertilizer on the growth and yield of long bean plants. Long bean plants were planted on private cultivation land in Werungotok Village, Nganjuk District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java in January 2023 – April 2023. The study was structured using a Split Plot Design with 2 factors, including concentration of paclobutrazol and the dose of Urea fertilizer. Each factor consisted of 4 levels and was repeated 3 times. The results revealed that the concentration of paclobutrazol and the dose of urea fertilizer had an effect on plant length, number of leaves, age of flower emergence, number of flowers, number of fruits, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per plot, fruit weight per hectare, fruit length and fruit set. The best results were obtained from the treatment with a concentration of 150 ppm paclobutrazol and a dose of 100 kg/ha of urea. Keywords:  Growth,  Paclobutrazol concentration,  Urea dose, Yield.

Abstract

Long bean is the one of the most widely consumed vegetables both fresh and processed. The market demand for long beans is rising, but their production remains limited. This study aims to investigate how different concentrations of paclobutrazol and various types of nitrogen fertilizers affect the growth and yield of long bean plants. The research was conducted in Dander Village, Dander District, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java. The study employed a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors: the concentration of paclobutrazol (P0 = control, P1 = 150 ppm, P2 = 200 ppm, P3 = 250 ppm) and the type of nitrogen fertilizer (N0 = NPK control, N1 = Urea, N2 = ZA, N3 = KNO3). Variables to observed included plant length, number of leaves, flowering age, number of pods, pod weight, number of seeds, and fruit set. The results showed that the combination of 150 ppm paclobutrazol and KNO3 nitrogen fertilizer produced the best results in terms of the fastest flower emergence at 29 days after planting (HST) and the highest pod weight of long beans at 43.00 grams per plant. Keywords: Paclobutrazol, Various Nitrogen Fertilizers, Growth, Yield, Long Beans (Vigna sinensis L.)

Abstract

Long bean production has decreased in Indonesia due to uncertain seasonal factors, such as long dry seasons and short rainy seasons. Long bean production has decreased due to inappropriate and optimal cultivation techniques. Several efforts can be made to overcome the problem of decreasing long bean productivity by fertilizing and applying growth regulators. The aim of this research is to understand the combined effect of KNO₃ fertilizer doses and paclobutrazol concentrations on the growth and yield of long bean plants. Thise research was conducted in Ketawang Village, Nganjuk, East Java. The research was a factorial experiment with Split Plot Design consisted of two treatment levels, namely KNO₃ fertilizer dose (0 g/plant, 8 g/plant, 10 g/plant and 12 g/plant) and paclobutrazol concentration (0 ppm, 150 ppm, 175 ppm and 200 ppm). The combination of 10 g/plant KNO₃ + 150 ppm paclobutrazol influences the growth and yield of long bean plants, however the application of KNO₃ fertilizer alone has no effect on the growth and yield of long bean plants. Keywords: Giberelin, Growth regulator, Harvest, Nutrient, Retardant.

Abstract

Shallot is a horticultural commodity that is always needed for consumption and has high economic value. However, shallot production in East Java has decreased due to the low quality and quantity of shallot seeds. This study aims to determine the effect of concentration and frequency of paclobutrazol application on the growth and yield of shallot. This research was conducted in Sambigede Village, Sumber Pucung Subdistrict, Malang Regency in January-May 2024. The research was arranged using a Split Plot Design with 3 replication. The main plots were paclobutrazol concentrations: 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm, and 200 ppm. The subplots were the frequency of paclobutrazol application: 1 time, 2 times, and 3 times. The combination of paclobutrazol concentration of 100 ppm and application frequency of 1 time gave the best results in inhibiting the vegetative phase, increasing tuber dry weight per clump, harvest index, and chlorophyll content. The frequency of paclobutrazol application did not significantly affect the fresh weight of tubers per clump, fresh weight of tubers per plot and dry weight of tubers per plot, but paclobutrazol concentration of 100 ppm affected the fresh weight of tubers per clump. Keywords: Bulbs, Harvest, Paclobutrazol, Shallot, Vegetative.

Abstract

Sweet corn production in Indonesia is relatively low due to instability and many factors, including infestation of pests and diseases, inappropriate and inefficient cultivation techniques, and the varieties. Pruning the leaves below the cob and applying nitrogen fertilizer may improve yield. The aim of this research was to investigate the combined effect of leaf pruning and types of nitrogen fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants. A plot experiment was performed in a Randomized Block Design with 2 factors, namely leaf pruning (no pruning, 1 leaf remaining, 2 leaves remaining, and 3 leaves remaining below the cob), and types of N fertilizer (Urea 4.5 g/plant, ZA fertilizer 9.6 g/plant, and KNO3 fertilizer 15.5 g/plant). Results showed that the best type of N source was KNO3 fertilizer with fresh weight of dehusked cobs (217.68 g), cob diameter (44.84mm), and sugar content (16.26%). Combination treatment of KNO3 fertilizer and the 3 leaves remaining provided the best results on the parameters of fresh weight of husked cobs (308.50 g), cob length (18.83 cm), weight of husked cobs (10.12 kg/plot), and yield of husked cobs (28.11 ton/ha). Keywords: Cultivation, Fertilizer, Nitrogen, Productivity, Sweet corn.

Abstract

Pupuk organik cair (POC) merupakan salah satu alternatif pupuk yang dapat digunakan untuk meminimalisir dampak penggunaan pupuk kimia yang dapat mencemari lingkungan. Bahan pembentuk POC dapat berasal dari limbah organik. Limbah organik yang digunakan adalah, kulit pisang, air kelapa, dan jeroan ikan. Limbah tersebut memiliki kandungan unsur hara terutama N,P, dan K yang bermanfaat pada penanaman tanaman cabai rawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat mengetahui jenis POC dan beberapa konsentrasi yang mampu menunjang pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai rawit. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari hingga April 2022, yang bertempat di Dusun Besongol, Kecamatan Pandaan, Kabupaten Pasuruan, Jawa Timur. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan sembilan kombinasi perlakuan, yang diulang sebanyak tiga kali, dan tiap ulangan memiliki 3 sampel tanaman. Perlakuan terdiri atas faktor 1 berupa POC kulit pisang, kulit pisang plus, dan jeroan ikan, kemudian faktor 2 berupa tingkat konsentrasi 40%, 50%, dan 60%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa POC kulit pisang plus dengan tingkat konsentrasi 50% menghasilkan panen cabai rawit sebanyak 55.33 buah dibandingkan dengan jenis POC dan tingkat konsentrasi lainnya.

Abstract

Terong adalah jenis sayuran buah yang digemari, karena selain harga yang terjangkau juga mudah ditemukan di pasar, sehingga permintaannya  meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat mengetahui adanya interaksi antara konsentrasi dan jenis pupuk organik cair (POC) pada pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terong ungu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-Juli 2022, yang berlokasi di lahan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jawa Timur. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan acak kelompok  yang terdiri dari 2 faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu konsentrasi POC dengan 5 taraf yaitu 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% dan 30%. Faktor kedua yaitu POC kulit pisang dan POC limbah ikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat interaksi yang nyata antara konsentrasi dan jenis POC yang diaplikasi terhadap  tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot buah per buah per tanaman pada periode ke-3 dan ke-5 dan bobot buah per tanaman periode ke-3, ke-4 dan ke-5. Kombinasi konsentrasi POC 30% dan jenis POC limbah ikan menunjukkan hasil tertinggi pada tinggi tanaman (87,17 cm) dan jumlah daun (55,50 helai), sedangan perlakuan kombinasi antara konsentrasi POC 25% dan jenis POC limbah ikan memberikan hasil tertinggi pada bobot buah per buah per tanaman pada periode ke-3 (176,95 g) dan ke-5 (219,72 g) dan bobot buah per tanaman yang dipanen periode ke-3 (357,11 g), ke-4 (381,89 g) dan ke-5 (351,33 g).

Abstract

Teknologi budidaya Jamur Tiram dan Ikan Lele secara terpadu merupakan peluang usaha alternatif lainnya yang dapat memberikan tambahan penghasilan dan kesejahteraan bagi masyarakat. Melalui kelompok-kelompok PKK RW 03 yang memiliki potensi sumberdaya dalam meningkatkan kemandirian dan memperoleh pendapatan tambahan. Metode yang diterapkan adalah percontohan, percobaan dan pendampingan, yaitu dengan cara memberikan contoh yang riil tentang prospek dan manfaat dalam budidaya jamur tiram dan ikan lele dengan menggunakan metode integrated farming yang berkelanjutan dengan memanfaatkan segala potensi lokal. Pendampingan Budidaya Terpadu Jamur Tiram Putih dan Ikan Lele, meliputi: pemeliharaan log jamur dan ikan lele, panen dan pasca panen, analisa usaha tani, membuat olahan jamur dan ikan lele menjadi produk home industry, serta pendampingan pemasaran dalam bentuk mentah dan olahan. Luaran program pendampingan berupa produk jamur tiram putih baik dalam bentuk segar maupun olahan, serta hasil sampingan berupa ikan lele.

Abstract

The demand for avocados in Indonesia continues to rise, while the availability of high-quality seedlings remains limited. Propagation through stem cuttings with the application of IBA (Indole Butyric Acid) is expected to improve propagation success. This study aims to determine the effect of IBA concentration on the growth of avocado stem cuttings. The research was conducted in Bojonegoro, East Java, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, namely five concentrations of IBA: 0, 75, 100, 125, and 150 ppm. Observed parameters included shoot length, number of shoots, number of leaves, and number of primary roots. The results showed that IBA concentration had a significant effect on all observed parameters, while cutting length had no significant effect. A concentration of 100 ppm produced optimal growth of 1.92 cm, 2.50 shoots, and 4.33 leaves. The treatment without IBA resulted in the lowest values. The application of IBA at concentrations of 75–100 ppm effectively enhanced the growth of avocado stem cuttings, particularly in shoot and leaf development.

Abstract

Produktivitas jagung manis (Zea mays L. Saccharata Sturt) masih tergolong rendah karena kondisi lingkungan yang kurang optimal dan penerapan teknologi budidaya yang belum efisien, termasuk penggunaan zat pengatur tumbuh dan pupuk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi paclobutrazol dan dosis pupuk urea terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis varietas Talenta. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Megeri, Kecamatan Kradenan, Kabupaten Blora, Jawa Tengah, pada bulan November 2024 hingga Januari 2025, menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terbagi dengan dua faktor: konsentrasi paclobutrazol (0, 1000, 1500, dan 2000 ppm) sebagai petak utama, dan dosis pupuk urea (150, 200, 250, dan 300 kg/ha) sebagai anak petak, dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi nyata antara konsentrasi paclobutrazol 1500 ppm dan dosis urea 300 kg/ha yang memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap beberapa parameter pertumbuhan dan hasil, termasuk panjang tanaman, diameter batang, berat segar tongkol, dan hasil per hektar. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penggunaan paclobutrazol 1500 ppm dan urea 300 kg/ha secara bersamaan mampu meningkatkan hasil jagung manis secara signifikan.
