Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of illocutionary speech acts contained in 100 poster designs containing appeals for the prevention of Covid-19 and the application of health protocols posted on social media Facebook. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by applying the data collection techniques of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, namely data condensation, data display, and conclusion. This study uses Searle's theory of illocutionary speech acts to analyze the collected data. The theory includes the types of illocutionary speech acts, namely directive, assertive, expressive, commissive, and declarative. The results of this study indicate that of the 100 poster designs analyzed, there were 64 posters containing directive speech acts, 27 posters containing assertive speech acts, 8 posters containing expressive speech acts, and 1 poster containing commissive speech acts. The large number of posters containing declarative speech acts indicates that the poster is aimed at hearers or audiences to do or carry out something related to the prevention of Covid-19 and the application of strict health protocols. This is in line with the purpose of the poster, which is persuasive, which means it can influence people who see or read it.

Abstract

The design of the Indonesian language curriculum in higher education plays a crucial role in equipping graduates with the necessary skills to compete in the global job market. This study examines the development of an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum framework for Indonesian language courses in universities, focusing on enhancing graduates' competitiveness. The research employs a qualitative approach by analyzing curriculum structures, learning objectives, and competency mapping aligned with industry needs and international standards. The findings highlight that an OBE-based curriculum ensures students acquire practical language proficiency, critical thinking skills, and effective communication abilities. Moreover, integrating real-world applications and performance-based assessments strengthens students’ readiness for professional environments. The study emphasizes the importance of continuous curriculum evaluation and stakeholder collaboration in maintaining its relevance. Implementing an OBE-based Indonesian language curriculum is expected to bridge the gap between academic learning and workforce demands, thereby increasing graduates' employability and competitiveness.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas strata sosial masyarakat Jawa sebagai bahasa nonverbal statis yang dikaji secara etnopragmatik. Kajian ini merupakan kajian interdisipliner antara teori etnografi dan pragmatik. Teori etnografi adalah kajian yang menggambarkan budaya suatu masyarakat, sedangkan kajian pragmatik pada dasarnya menggambarkan penggunaan bahasa berdasarkan konteks. Dengan demikian, kajian etnopragmatik adalah kajian penggunaan bahasa berdasarkan konteks budaya masyarakat pemiliknya. Tujuan penelitian adalah menggambarkan wujud, fungsi, dan makna pragmatik yang terdapat dalam strata sosial masyarakat Jawa. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan perekaman. Analisis data dilakukan melalui langkah konkret (a) identifikasi data, (b) klasifikasi data, dan (c) interpretasi data. Temuan hasil penelitian berupa (a) strata sosial tingkat kepriyayian, (b) strata sosial kedudukan seseorang di dalam masyarakat, (c) strata sosial yang diungkapkan secara metaforis, (d) strata sosial dalam memilih jodoh, (e) strata sosial temu trah, dan (d) strata sosial bias gender.This article aims to identify the social strata of Javanese society as a static nonverbal language that is studied ethnopragmatically. This study is an interdisciplinary study of ethnographic and pragmatic theories. The theory of ethnography is a study that describes the culture of a society, while pragmatic studies basically describe the use of language based on context. Thus, ethnopragmatics review is the study of language use based on the cultural context of the owner’s community. The purpose of this study is to describe the form, function, and pragmatic meaning contained in the social strata of Javanese society. The design used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and recording. The data collection techniques used were carried out for two months (January-February 2020) by recording public speech in the Sleman area of Yogyakarta as a random sampling informant Data analysis was performed through concrete steps, namely: (a) data identification, (b) data classification, and (c) data interpretation. Data validity test was used data triangulation techniques, namely data triangulation and theory’s triangulation. The findings of the research are (a) social strata at the community level, (b) social strata of a person’s position in society, (c) social strata expressed metaphorically, (d) social strata in choosing a mate, (e) social layers of meeting, and (d) social strata of gender bias. Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has had a significant impact on various fields, including learning and research in the academic world. One potential utilization of AI is in supporting the process of writing, editing, and publishing scientific articles in reputable international journals. This article aims to present various AI strategies and applications that can be optimized by academics to improve the quality of learning and productivity of international publications. The method used is a literature study of various scientific articles, industry reports, and trials of several AI platforms commonly used in academia. The stages of activity implementation began with the preparation, implementation and evaluation stages. The results of the activity show that AI has a significant role starting from the reference search stage, literature analysis, manuscript preparation, checking grammar and writing style, to the submission process and selection of suitable journals. AI integration is proven to increase time efficiency, improve manuscript quality, and increase the chances of being accepted by reputable journals. This study recommends the need for training and ethical policies in the use of AI in the academic environment so that its utilization remains in a responsible academic corridor.

Abstract

This research attempts to develop Martin’s & Rose’s concept of conjunctive relation (CR) analysis, in which the external and internal roles of conjunction do not include the other two types of conjunctive relation markers such as continuative and logical metaphor. Relying on more than twenty international journal articles, the research findings exhibit that certain types of continuative and logical metaphor can not only operate externally to connect events and qualities but they can also function internally to organize evidences and arguments in texts. As a result, not only a new role of internal continuative and logical metaphor can be confirmed, but the findings will also introduce an elaborated development of classifying CR in general. The emergence of the internal role of continuative and logical metaphor leads to a more elaborate way of connecting and grouping clauses into different units of discourse. In this way, they will also be able to demonstrate how texts can be built up through clauses, phases, and stages in a particular genre, without the need to be interpreted in conjunctions. HIGHLIGHTS: This article attempt to find a new way of classifying internal and external conjunctive relation that is comprised of conjunction, continuative and metaphor. Martin (2007) argues that only conjunction that perform external and inter. This article exhibits that actually external and internal roles can also be performed by continuative and metaphor. Some types of logical metaphors and continuations can not only operate externally to connect events and qualities, but can also function internally to organize evidence and arguments in a text.

Abstract

The New Kemukus religious tourist attraction, located in Sumberlawang District, Sragen, continues to be beautified. Once known for its negative stigma, it has now been transformed into a new tourist icon in Sukowati. The Sragen Regional Government has allocated a development budget and prepared a regional public service agency (BLUD) to manage Mount Kemukus. The New Kemukus area is located in the Bagor Village, Miri, Sragen, an agricultural village with social, cultural, economic, educational, health, and infrastructure conditions that support 18 MSMEs, such as processed food products, clothing, culinary, children's toys, and other businesses. Community empowerment is an economic development concept that encompasses community values to build a new perspective for the community towards themselves and their environment, which is people-centred, participatory, empowering, and sustainable. Several training sessions were conducted to improve products, both in terms of quantity and processing, as well as other managerial aspects. Based on observations, the problems faced by these MSMEs consist of two aspects, such as the lack of promotion and marketing skills through booth display arrangements to improve product marketing. This activity is in accordance with the Master Plan of PPM ISI Surakarta, focusing on the application of art and appropriate technology in PPM for engineering art-based technology applications aimed at applying art to diversify creative products. The mentoring activity method for promoting booth displays and marketing uses the Design Thinking method through the following stages: Define, Research, Ideate, Prototype, Select, Implementation, and Learn. The mandatory outputs of the PKM include a scientific article (submitted) in a Sinta-indexed journal, a presentation of the activity results, a Letter of Application of Science and Technology from the partner, as well as additional outputs in the form of activity publications in the mass media, and an intellectual property (KI) submission in the form of a booth stand design.

Abstract

Zakat institutions must be managed professionally in accordance with Islamic law, trustworthiness, benefits, fairness, legal certainty, integrated and accountability, so as to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of services in the management of zakat towards good institutional governance (Good Corporate Governacne) with a strategy building a strong foundation in terms of increasing human resources, product development innovation and zakat and waqf programs, harmonization of regulations. In the Era 5.0 revolution, there will be many influences that will occur, that is, with the rapid development of technology, it will facilitate service and management by the amil zakat agency and distribute it to Indonesian people, and the definite target is to improve the quality of human resources with the aim of realizing the ideals of the Indonesian state according to Pancasila important values.

Abstract

Pendidikan Pancasila merupakan mata pelajaran penting dalam kurikulum pendidikan dasar di Indonesia. Namun dalam praktiknya, banyak peserta didik yang masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi Pendidikan Pancasila. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, peneliti menerapkan media pembelajaran yang lebih menyenangkan dengan menggunakan platform media Educaplay sebagai sarana untuk meningkatkan minat peserta didik dalam belajar sehingga hasil belajar meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai peningkatan hasil pembelajaran pendidikan Pancasila, di kelas IVB SDN Dukuh Kupang III Surabaya, dengan memanfaatkan platform media Educaplay sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran yang menarik. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 27 peserta didik di kelas IVB SDN dukuh Kupang III Surabaya. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan tes hasil belajar. Data dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada pra-siklus, persentase ketuntasan peserta diidk adalah 26%. Pada siklus I, persentase ketuntasan meningkat menjadi 59% dengan 16 peserta didik mencapai ketuntasan. Di siklus II, terjadi peningkatan signifikan hingga mencapai 85% dengan 23 peserta didik tuntas. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media Educaplay secara efektif meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila di kelas IVB SDN Dukuh Kupang III Surabaya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dibuat dengan melihat adanya penggunaan model pembelajaran yang tidak bervariasi dalam proses belajar mengajar dan kurangnya keaktifan siswa dalam kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kelas materi Pendidikan Pancasila dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif learning tipe Jigsaw pada siswa Kelas IV SD Negeri Dukuh Kupang III/490 Surabaya. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dari wawancara, pelaksanaan secara langsung, dan observasi terhadap guru kelas IV. Dalam Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), peneliti menggunakan model Kemmis dan Taggart. Model ini terdiri dari empat fase antara lain: merencanakan, melaksanakan, mengamati, dan mencerminkan. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini yaitu 1) Pada siklus utama hanya 10 siswa yang lulus, yaitu 35,7% dari jumlah siswa yang berjumlah 28 siswa. 2) Siklus I walaupun terjadi peningkatan dan 18 siswa telah mencapai kualifikasi penuh yaitu 64,3 dari 28 siswa, namun hasil belajarnya masih belum signifikan dan perlu ditingkatkan. 3) Hasil belajar Siklus II sebanyak sebanyak 26 peserta didik atau 92,9% dari total 28 peserta didik yang ada. Dengan hasil tersebut siswa menunjukkan keefektifan penggunaan kooperatif tipe jigsaw. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model kooperatif tipe jigsaw memberikan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa tingkat sekolah dasar yang signifikan, dan jika bekerja dalam kelompok memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap pembelajaran individu.

Abstract

Hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas II di SD Negeri Dukuh Kupang III/490 Surabaya pada materi pecahan 1/2 dan 1/4 awalnya tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar tersebut melalui pendekatan Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT). Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus, dengan masing-masing siklus melibatkan satu pertemuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Negeri Dukuh Kupang III/490 Surabaya selama semester genap tahun ajaran 2023/2024, melibatkan 25 siswa kelas II sebagai subjek penelitian. Pada tahap pra-siklus, hanya 32% siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar. Angka ini meningkat secara signifikan menjadi 60% pada siklus I dan 88% pada siklus II. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan CRT efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa, khususnya pada materi pecahan 1/2 dan 1/4.
