Abstract

The Village Law provides villages with the freedom to manage their finances independently. However, tax management and compliance with tax provisions still face challenges. Many village officials, especially village treasurers, do not yet understand the correct tax procedures, such as determining taxable objects and proper calculations. The purpose of this service is to provide education and training on understanding taxation, especially VAT, Income Tax, and correct tax calculation practices. The methods used are socialization, training, and mentoring targeting the Jatijajar Village officials, Bergas District, Semarang Regency. The results of the service show that 75% of village officials have been able to calculate taxes in accordance with applicable provisions. From this, there is an increase in tax accuracy and compliance, as well as more reliable and relevant village financial reports. It is recommended that further mentoring be carried out regarding tax reporting and preparation of SPT so that village officials can carry out tax obligations more efficiently and on time.

Abstract

Milkfish processing is a superior product and a typical souvenir from Semarang City that requires serious attention because it has a significant impact on regional economic growth. Tambakrejo Village is a thematic village of Semarang City (Milkfish Processing Village) with the formation of the Putri Laut Processing and Marketing Group (Poklahsar) since 2017 with 21 members. Business actors in Poklahsar still face problems in production and marketing aspects. Partners in this PDTI are Poklahsar Putri Laut and Tambakrejo Village. In terms of production, the production capacity of presto milkfish is limited to only ± 50 kg / day. In addition, processed milkfish has a short shelf life so that technology needs to be applied. The reach of marketing aspects, product promotion is still lacking , In this community service activity, Retort pan facilities were provided, is one of the thermal food preservation techniques, which has many advantages, namely a shelf life of more than six months. The pressure cooker is a hybrid model specifically designed to make soft-boned milkfish effectively and efficiently. This presto milkfish cooker is a combination of innovations about soft-boned milkfish cookers with temperature and time control . The tool still uses LPG fuel and a soft-boned milkfish cooker with an electric heater.

Abstract

In recent years, there has been an increased demand for information regarding companies’ risk management efforts and opportunities related to climate change. The lack of concrete evidence about companies’ efforts to address the impacts of climate change highlights the importance of climate change disclosure. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of the attributes of the president commissioners (gender, age, and nationality) on climate change disclosure. Method: The study focuses on listed entities within the banking sector from 2020 to 2022 using a quantitative research methodology. The purposive sampling technique was used to gather a sample size of 129 observations. The data was analyzed using Stata 16. Findings: The results indicate that companies with female president commissioners tend to disclose less about climate change, while age and foreign nationality positively impact disclosure. These findings align with the upper-echelon theory and have significant practical implications. They underscore the need for policymakers to consider the president commissioner’s characteristics when developing strategies to promote climate change disclosure, given the growing importance of sustainability concerns. The robustness checks on the regression results consistently support these findings. Novelty: The president commissioner plays a crucial role in determining the success of climate change disclosure. Previous studies have analyzed commissioners’ educational backgrounds, while other crucial traits for supporting climate change disclosure, such as gender, age, and nationality, still lack empirical evidence. Additionally, there is still little attention given to the banking industry.

Abstract

Strengthening consolidated financial reporting is a key factor in supporting the business sustainability of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). The Kalongan Mandiri Jaya BUMDes faces various challenges in managing its financial reports, such as limited accounting knowledge, an unintegrated reporting system, and minimal transparency and accountability. To address these challenges, a program to strengthen consolidated financial reporting is proposed through several strategic solutions, including accounting training for BUMDes managers, the implementation of an integrated financial reporting system, and strengthening internal controls to enhance transparency and accountability. The target outcomes of this program include improving accounting understanding for BUMDes managers, implementing consolidated financial reports, and improving the transparency and accountability system. The results of the research and community service programs demonstrate that the Kalongan Mandiri Jaya BUMDes is able to strengthen its financial governance, increase competitiveness, and ensure long-term business sustainability. Overall, this program received positive feedback from BUMDes managers. They believe the mentoring provided has opened new insights into the importance of accountability and transparency in fund management. Furthermore, this activity has also been proven to strengthen the capacity of BUMDes in compiling reports to external parties, including village governments, business partners, and financing institutions.

Abstract

Abstract This community service program aims to address the financial management challenges faced by BUMDes Kalongan Jaya Mandiri, which could potentially hinder its business sustainability. Although BUMDes plays a strategic role in driving the village economy, the operational complexity of its various business units (duck egg production, goat farming, and waste management) requires a transparent and accountable financial reporting system. The Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method was used to ensure the active participation of BUMDes managers. The project was divided into two phases: simple accounting training and intensive mentoring. The training focused on educating managers on easy-to-understand financial record-keeping, while the mentoring helped them prepare inventory reports, cash inflow and outflow statements, and fixed asset lists. The results showed a significant improvement in the managers' understanding and ability to create structured financial reports. This not only enhanced operational efficiency and accountability but also served as a foundation for better decision-making and increased trust from the community and other stakeholders.

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) play a strategic role in enhancing village economic independence, but they still face challenges in management and accounting governance. BUMDes Kaya Guna in Kalisidi Village, Semarang Regency, is one example facing issues with business management and financial record-keeping, which are still done manually. This community service program aims to strengthen the business and financial management capabilities of the BUMDes Kaya Guna board through the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach. Activities were conducted in the form of counseling, training, and mentoring, focusing on Break-Even Point (BEP) analysis, Return on Investment (RoI), Payback Period (PP), basic accounting concepts, and the implementation of computerized accounting based on SAK ETAP. The results of the activities showed an improvement in participants' understanding of how to prepare business feasibility analyses and more systematic financial reports. Positive feedback from the management and the Village Head of Kalisidi underscored the program's benefits in strengthening healthy, transparent, and accountable business management. The evaluation also identified challenges such as technological limitations and initial lack of understanding, which were addressed through intensive mentoring. Overall, the program successfully enhanced the managerial and accounting capacities of the BUMDes Kaya Guna management team and supported the realization of sustainable BUMDes governance.
