Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research had been done to determine the influence of system point rules to tube voltage variation in chest x-ray density. The purpose of this study to determine the value of the tube voltage that produces minimal density and maximum contrast on photos ribs, as well as tube voltage value that produces the maximum density and maximum contrast in the photo the lungs. This research is an experimental research with analytical studies. Data were collected by means of chest x-ray procedures, with settings of 60 - 150 kV, in accordance point system tables. Furthermore, from the radiograph eleven density measurement in the mediastinum, lungs, ribs, heart, and diaphragm. ribs contrast is obtained by calculating the difference in the density of  ribs and  lung density, while the contrast obtained by calculating the difference in the lungs and heart density. The results showed that, minimum density, and maximum ribs contrast obtained on the tube voltage of 60 kV, while the maximum density and maximum lungs contrast, obtained at a tube voltage of 150 kV.Top of Form Keywords: point system, tube voltage, density, contrast

Abstract

Nanocomposite thin film of TiO2/CNT as a photocatalyst material was  synthesized using the sol-gel method with the dispersion of commercial TiO2 Merck in CNT. The crystal structure and nanocomposite thin film morfology of TiO2/CNT were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Sol TiO2 0.3 M was mixed into the sol CNT with mass ratio of CNT:TiO2 was 1:5. Sol TiO2/CNT was sprayed on a glass substrate that was  heated at a temperature of 250 oC, then it was heated at the temperature of 450 °C for 60 minutes. Photodegradation was done by dipping the nanocomposite thin film of TiO2/CNT into 100 mL Azo Orange 3R dye sol 10 ppm, then was irradiated using UV light with a wavelength 380 nm. XRD pattern analysis showed that TiO2 has anatase structure with crystallite size at the range from 72-92 nm by using Scherrer equation. SEM image analysis showed that the grains of TiO2 sfreris pattern and was dispersed on CNT. Refluks TiO2/CNT nanocomposite thin film had been able to degrade Azo Orange 3R dye sol for 12 hours until percentage of 98,2% which was much better than the non reflux TiO2/CNT nanocomposite thin film as 97,2% and the TiO2 thin film as 90,9%. Keywords : TiO2, carbon nanotubes, thin film, nanocomposite, photodegradation, Azo Orange 3R dye.

Abstract

Shield utilization is very important to protect employee and people from radiation. Therefore, the rules are made that one of them is to regulate construction design of diagnostic radiology room which meet radiation protection standart. Indonesia has natural resources which potential to be radiation shield material. The research has been done to determine absorption coeffcicient of bangkirai (Shorea laevifolia) and its comparison with Pb as wall of diagnostic radiology room. X-ray absorption between bangkirai and Pb as the following : Voltage, current and time of X-ray mobile were setted in 81 kV and 32 mAs, distance between focus and object was 100 cm, Multi Purpose Detector (MPD) placed under object, area of irradiation field opened in 5 cm x 5 cm, central beam placed in the center of objects appropriately and then expotion was conducted for untreated bangkirai with (Pb) and treated bangkirai which heated in 100°C for  60 minutes repeteadly according to variation of determined thickness material, finally expotion was conducted for each thickness for three times so that average value obtained and it was repetead until absorption coefficient value of this material obtained.  Result of X-ray absorption on bangkirai tests showed that absorption coefficient () effective for untreated bangkirai and treated bangkirai is 0,029/mm and 0,027/mm, respectively. Equality result showed that unheated bangkirai with 1,3 mm Pb is equivalent with 254 mm untreated bangkirai, while heated bangkirai with 1,3 mm Pb is equivalent with 273 mm treated bangkirai. To reach 2 mm of Pb, untreated bangkirai and treated bangkirai were used with thickness off 391 mm and 420 mm, respectively. Keywords : X-ray mobile, Multi Purpose Detector (MPD), Pb, Bangkirai, Absorption Coefficient ()

Abstract

ZnO/TiO2 bilayer thin films have been deposited on a glass substrate by using sol-gel method with spin coating technique. The quality of films deposited on buffer layer is found to be superior to those grown directly on a substrate. The ability of photodegradation of ZnO/TiO2 was observed through the dye test by various molarities of ZnO solution. ZnO sol was prepared by dissolving zinc acetate dehydrate into a solvent of isopropanol then add monoethanolamine and stirred for 30 min at 70°C. For preparing TiO2 sol, titanium tetraisopropoxide is first dissolved in a mixture containing isopropanol and ethanol at room temperature. Then after 30 min stirring, the sol was titrated with a mixture of acetic acid, ethanol and deionized water. The process was followed by 60 min at room temperature. ZnO sol as a first layer is first deposited on a glass substrate and then proceed TiO2 sol on it, for the both deposition was heated at 450oC. The optical properties of ZnO/TiO2 bilayer thin films was characterized by using spectrophotometer UV-Vis. The results showed that the molarity of the ZnO sol affects the optical properties of ZnO/TiO2 bilayer thin films. The band gap energy of the ZnO/TiO2 bilayer thin films with different molarity of ZnO sol respectively 0,1 M, 0,3 M, 0,5 M and 0,7 M has been measured about 3,21 eV, 3,27 eV, 3,32 eV and 3,36 eV. The results of the photodegradation test of the ZnO/TiO2 bilayer thin films have been able degrade methylene blue up to 99,85%, methyl orange 50,68% and batik’s dye 49,87%.Keywords: sol-gel, spray coating, photocatalist, ZnO/TiO2, band gap energy

Abstract

The measurement of X-ray radiation exposure rate in operator’s room with Pb glass at the Prof. Dr. W. Z. Johannes hospital, Kupang has been done. The measurement of radiation exposure rate for radiation before and after passing through the Pb glass was done using surveymeter. There are six points of measurement: at the upper-left, upper-right, upper-midle, bottom-left, bottom-right, and bottom-midle sides. The results of measurements show that Pb glass reduce the radiation exposure rate until 99,51%, and when flouroscopy is activated, the radiation exposure rate at the operator’s room is 0,6 mR/hour. This value is below the value of dose limit (NBD). Keywords: radiation exposure rate, Pb glass, radiaion at the operator’s room

Abstract

Some of the parameters that influence noise level are tube voltage and slice thickness, that can affect image quality and accuracy in diagnosis, with a tolerance limit of the CT number ± 7 HU. The objective of this study is to define the noise level on the tube voltage 0f 120 kV and 135 kV with slice thickness variations. The measurement used water phantom scanning of head with tube voltage 120 kV, 135 kV and slice thickness 2, 3, 5, 7 and 10 mm. water phantom scanning of the abdomen with tube voltage 120 kV and slice thickness 3, 5, 7, 10 and 20 mm. Noise level got from central ROI area phantom. The high tube voltage and increasing the slice thickness, that the noise level decreases because the x-ray tube produced high x-rays energy and high photons penetrating to tissues. Noise levels are good when using eksposure parameters are current-time and tube voltage : 225 mAs, 135 kV with a slice thickness of 10 mm is 0.47 % for the head and 375 mAs, 120 kV with a slice thickness 3 mm is 0.45 % for the abdomen. Keywords: Noise, Slice thickness,Phantom, CT number
