Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to find out the improvement of the students motivation learning physic by applying REACT model of Contextual learning.This pre-experimental research used one group pretest and posttest design. There were 35 students of clas XI IPA I SMA Negeri 7 Pekanbaru have participated in this research. We used modification ARCS question one of motivation as instrument in collecting data, before and after treatment. The data were analyzed descriptive by using N-Gain. From the data, we found that N-Gain score in high category for all indicators. And, we can conclude that REACT model have improved students motivation in learning physis especially for class XI IPA I students of SMA Negeri 7 Pekanbaru.Key Words: ARCS, Learning Physics, REACT model

Abstract

Abstrak: This study aims to determine the validity of the development of physics-oriented learning device inquiry approach on thermodynamic materials class XI SMA based on curriculum 2013. Development of tools such as RPP, LKPD and test results learning. The research used in the form of observation method using validation instrument validated by validator, namely 2 lecturers physics FKIP UR and 2 people high school physics teacher. Stages of development of this device starts from the preliminary study, device planning, device development, validation-1, device enhancement, validation-2, and obtained the average number of active results. Data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, the development of learning tools is valid with the average validity of RPP is 3,25 categories are very high, LKPD is 3,19 categories are high and test result of learning 3,25 with very high category, So that the device is feasible to be used as learning device in school.Key Words: inquiry, development of oriented learning, thermodynamic, curriculum 2013.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is aims to generate a learning module using virtual PhET simulationson the material of dynamic electric to be valid and proper for students to use as a self-learning materials. This research type using Research and Development (R&D) method with a model of the development are Four-D Model. The module was developed through four phases accordingto the development model being used, such as Define, Design, Develop and Dessiminates phase. The research data was obtained from the results of validation by three experts as validators. Instrument validation using content validity to assessment module by Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan (BSNP) which consists of four feasibility aspects’s modules with 56 indicators assessment module. Validation was done through two phaseswhich is validation in first phase and validation in second phase. The results of the validation first phase, modules got an average value of 3.54 so the quality ofmodules at the validation phase one was “Good”. The results of the validation second phase obtained an average value of 4.01 so that the quality of modules at the validation second phase was“Good”. Feasibility of contents’s module obtained an average value of 3.8in the category “Good”, the feasibility of presentation’s module obtained an average value of 3.9 tocategory“Good”, feasibility of language’s modules obtained an average value of 3.9 to“Good”categoriy and feasibility of graphical’s modules scored an average of 4.01 in the “Good” category. Based on the results of feasibility aspect’s module, the module has fulfilled the criteria of Self Instructional, Self Contained, Stand Alone, Adaptive and User Friendly. Based on the results of the validation, it can be concluded that learning module using virtual PhET simulations on the material dynamic electricwas valid and proper to use as a self-learning materials for students.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the level of analytical thinking skills of VII grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Pekanbaru on natural science subjects. This type of research is a survey research. The subjects of this study were 113 students who were in 3 different levels. Data collection techniques in the form of giving objective questions amounted to 27 questions with 3 aspects, where each aspect consists of 3 indicators and each indicator has 9 sub-indicators, each sub-indicator consists of 2 to 4 questions with the same or different material. Data analysis of the results of this study uses descriptive analysis, which provides an overview of students' analytical thinking skills. After doing a descriptive analysis of the research data, it was found that the average percentage of analytical thinking skills of VII grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Pekanbaru for analytical thinking skills was 41% with sufficient categories. The average percentage of students' analytical thinking skills for each aspect and each indicator is 48% with sufficient categories for distinguishing aspects, 45% with sufficient categories for organizing aspects, and 30% for aspects of compatibility with low categories.Key Words: Analytical Thinking Skills, Differentiating aspect, Organizing aspect, Atributing aspect.

Abstract

 The main purpose of this research was to know the level of understanding of students’ concepts in the sound wave and light waves material in class XI students of senior high school in the sub-district of Tampan, Pekanbaru. This research is survey research. The population in this research were all students of class XI of state Senior high schools in the Tampan sub-district of Pekanbaru, while the research sample numbered 65 students. The research instrument was in the form of concept understanding tests that were compiled based on indicators understanding the concepts of translation, interpretation, and extrapolation. The questions used were in the form of a written test in the form of multiple-choice totaling 26 items. The results of the answers to the questions given are then analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of this research provide information, that the level of concepts understanding of class XI students in high schools throughout the sub-district of Tampan, Pekanbaru in physics lessons on sound wave material and light waves are in the very low category for the three indicators of translation, interpretation, and extrapolation. Therefore, a learning strategy is needed that is able to overcome the low understanding of the student's concepts.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the validity of a high schoolphysics learning media in straight motion topics for android using the unity application.This development research used ADDIE model that consists of five stages, namelyAnalysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, thisdevelopment research is limited to the development stage. The data in this study arequalitative data in the form of opinions and suggestions as well as quantitative data inthe form of scores given to each item assessed by experts consisting of 5 people, 3 ofthem lecturers of physics education and 2 teachers of high school physics subjects to thelearning media developed. The instrument used by experts in providing assessments isthe expert validation sheet (adapted from Nasir, 2014). Data collection techniques werecollected by giving draft learning media along with assessment sheets to five experts.Furthermore, experts are asked to provide an assessment consisting of opinions andsuggestions for improvement as well as scores for each item using a scale of 1-5. Dataanalysis techniques in the form of expert judgment in the form of suggestions forimprovement (if any) and scores for each item that are then tabulated. Items that have ascore of less than 3 (scale 1-5) by experts, these items must subsequently be revisedaccording to expert improvement recommendations and will be re-assessed by experts.This process continues until all the experts state that all items already have a score of 3,4 or 5. Then the average score of each assessment item is calculated. The results of thelearning media validation obtained are valid in the high category with a score of 4.08consisting of aspects design with a score of 4.12, pedagogic aspects with a score of4.00, content aspects with a score of 4.00, and technical aspects of 4.20.Keywords: Unity, ADDIE Model, Straight Motion, Android-Based Physics Learning

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to identify the types of ICT utilization and the constraints of the use of ICT in learning physics. This survey also describe the level of ICT utilization and the level of obstacles faced by physics teacher in using ICT in learning. This type of research is a survey research. The subjects of this study were 20 physics teachers from 20 SMA and MA in Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques in the form of distributing questionnaires online. This instruments contain 20 statement items. Data analysis of this study uses descriptive analysis, which provides an overview of the level of ICT utilization and the constraints of using ICT in learning physics. We found that the average percentage of the level of ICT utilization in physics learning in Pekanbaru was 55% in the medium category. While, the percentage for the level of obstacles in using ICT in learning physics was 61% with a high category.Key Words: Utilization of ICT, physics learning, the constraints of using ICT.

Abstract

Abstract : The research aimed to describe the level of students motivation in temperature and heatmaterial through the implementation of TANDUR learning strategy in class X IIS4 SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. Problem derived based on the observation of the students in class X IIS4 SMAN 12 Pekanbaru, showed low motivation. Of learning it is shown in the proces of learning, where the students give less attention to the lesson, students are less enthusiastic in learning physics and students physics learning outcomes are still low are still low. To improv student motivation required appropiate learning strategy, one of the main strategies that can be used is TANDUR which is an acronim of grow, natural, name, demonstration, repeat, celebrate. Through TANDUR learning strategies expected to be fully able to make the students motivated to learn physics especially in the subject of temperature and heat, and provide direct experience to the students and try to give a real experience for them, so it’s not just memorize facts, but they themselves are finding the facts. This study used a form of pre-experimental design with one group pretets-posttest design. Instrument which is used in this study is the motivation questionnare consisting of aspects of attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the research, students motivation after the application of TANDUR learning strategy increased 2,88%. Thus the implementation of learning strategies in the class X IIS4 SMAN 12 Pekanbaru can increase students motivation to learn physics in the temperature and heat subject.
