Abstract

The skill of making scientific presentations is a skill that must be mastered by current students, especially final year students who will soon be preparing their final project. The problem with Biology students as partners in this service is the lack of student ability to make effective scientific presentations. Preliminary analysis showed that 41% of students found it very difficult to present properly. The solution offered is to hold effective scientific presentation training with the aim of providing understanding and training students' skills in making scientific presentations and making good presentation media. The implementation of this training consists of 3 sessions namely material delivery sessions, independent work and simulations. The results achieved in this training activity are an increase in the participants' knowledge and skills in making presentation materials and presenting them in an effective presentation. In terms of participant satisfaction, it shows that this community service has an average score of 3.89 with very good/very satisfied criteria. .

Abstract

Practical activities are activities that play a big role in the implementation of biology learning, because this activity will really help students improve their skills in working with nature and the environment. This research aims to find out the implementation of class XI biology practicum at SMAN in terms of conformity with the basic competencies in the 2013 curriculum. This research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. Sampling for research subjects was carried out using cluster sampling with 10 schools as selected research subjects. The research results show that the implementation of biology practicum for class The practicum with the lowest implementation was KD 4.4 Presenting data from observations of tissue and organ structures in animals with a percentage of 37.5%, and the highest was KD 4.3 Presenting data from observations of tissue and organ structures in plants with a percentage of 85%. For the practicum implementation aspect, 30% of schools are in the very good category, 20% are in the good and sufficient category and 30% are in the very poor category..

Abstract

Development of Electronic Student Worksheets Based on Scientific Approach Plantae Material for Class X SMA Negeri 1 Kalukku. The research aims to develop an electronic worksheet based on a scientific approach to material plantae that meets practical criteria. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were biology teachers and students of class X IPA 1, SMA Negeri 1 Kalukku. Data was collected using several instruments, namely electronic worksheet validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaire validation sheets and teacher and student questionnaires. The results of the research show that the developed electronic worksheet product is practical. The practicality test results from the teacher's response were 91.46% (very practical) and students' responses were 85% (very practical). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the electronic worksheet products based on the scientific approach developed are practical.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the obstacles faced by students in learning biology during the transition period in North Toraja Regency State High Schools. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research by distributing questionnaires related to the obstacles faced by students during biology learning during the transition period (online to offline). The population in this study was 2152 students in classes X and XI Science consisting of 10 high schools in North Toraja Regency. The sampling technique was carried out using cluster sampling based on regional divisions so that 4 schools were obtained representing each regional division. Determining the minimum sample size uses the Slovin formula to obtain results of 300 samples. The results of the analysis show that students' obstacles in learning biology during the transition period (online to offline) reached a percentage of 50% in the moderately constrained category.

Abstract

In producing effective learning, a teacher needs learning tools that can support the learning process in the classroom. For this reason, teachers need learning tools in the form of teacher guidebooks to help the learning process, especially learning biology. This study aims to produce a learning unit with a flipped classroom learning setting based on guided inquiry on circulatory system material for class XI SMA/MA. This research is a development research that adapts the ADDIE development model which consists of analysis stages, namely needs analysis, content analysis, structure analysis, and objective analysis, the design stage is carried out by designing products consisting of cover design and content design, the development stage is tested for validity by an expert validator, the implementation stage is carried out by applying the product with practicality and effectiveness tests, and the evaluation stage is carried out by re-evaluating the product based on the practicality test. The developed learning unit is equipped with core competencies, basic competencies, learning materials, flipped classroom learning stages, guided inquiry learning scenarios, learning assessments, and student worksheets. The results showed practicality with an average score on the teacher and student response questionnaire, namely 86.6 and 84.02, included in the practical category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning readiness of students at SMA Negeri 5 Takalar in following biology lessons. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The population of this study was 498 students, with a sample of 83 students selected using stratified random sampling. The research design used was a survey method with data collection techniques using a learning readiness questionnaire consisting of 30 statements. The data obtained were then analyzed using Microsoft Excel. The results showed that the learning readiness of students at SMA Negeri 5 Takalar was generally in the ready category with an average percentage of 74.03%. The highest readiness indicators were in the very ready category in terms of needs, motives, and goals. Meanwhile, the physical condition, emotional condition, and knowledge were in the ready category. The lowest indicator was in the quite ready category in terms of students' mental condition.

Abstract

Guru memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berfikir tingkat tinggi bagi peserta didik. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kritis peserta didik adalah dengan membiasakan peserta didik mengerjakan soal-soal HOTS dalam proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkahn hasil observasi awal yang telah dilakukan diperoleh informasi bahwa dalm pembelajaran guru telah melakukan penilaian berbasis HOTS, namun masih banyak yang merasa kesulitan untuk mengembangkan soal HOTS yang baik. beberapa guru masih cenderung mengadaptasi soal-soal yang telah ada. Solusi yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan penyusunan soal HOTS. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap yang meliputi pemberian materi, diskusi, praktik dan kerja mandiri. Selain itu juga dilakukan evaluasi dengan menggunakan angket kepuasan.  Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa  Ada peningkatan kemampuan guru peserta pelatihan dalam membuat soal-soal HOTS yang dibuktikan dengan soal-soal yang telah dikembangkan. Selain itu Hasil respon peserta menunjukkan bahwa pengabdian masyarakat ini memiliki skor rata-rata 3,79 (Kriteris Sangat Baik). Kata kunci: Soal, HOTS, Pelatihan Guru

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence and effectiveness of the use of ARTOON: Augmented Reality Cartoon learning media integrated with Tri-sipaka values in increasing students' awareness of the three major sins in education, namely bullying, sexual violence, and intolerance. The research method uses a mixed method approach with convergent design. The population in this study was grade XI students of SMA Negeri 11 Pinrang and the sample used consisted of all grade XI students specializing in biology totaling 43 students. Sample withdrawal uses the Non-probability sampling technique with the purposive sampling method. Using a mixed method approach with convergent design, the study involved 43 students in grade XI of SMA Negeri 11 Pinrang. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis, inferential statistics with Paired Sample T-test, Miles and Huberman interactive analysis for qualitative data, and data interpretation. The results of this study show that there is an influence of the application of augmented reality cartoon learning media integrated with tri-sipaka values in increasing students' awareness of the three major sins in education. In addition, this learning media has also proven to be effective in increasing students' awareness of the three major sins in education. The results of this study can be a reference for schools in terms of integrating tri-sipaka values in learning.

Abstract

Adapatasi teknologi merupakan salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk menyiapkan guru sebgai pendidik menghadapi peserta didik saat ini yang dijuluki sebagaii generesi Z, generasi yang kesehariannya tidak terlepas dari teknologi seperti gadget, laptop dan internet. Permasalahan guru SMP Negeri 21 Bulukumba adalah belum maksimalnya penggunaan teknologi seperti komputer dan jarigan internet yang ada disekolah sebagai sarana pembelajaran. Umumnya jaringan internet hanya digunakan sebagai sarana untuk download materi berupa ppt maupun video kemudian dipresentasikan secara konvensional di depan kelas. Berdasarkan malasalah ini, maka tim pengabdi menganggap perlu dilakukannya upaya adaptasi teknogi di dalam pembelajaran berupa pemanfaatan aplikasi quizizz sebahai gamifikasi pembelajaran. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada para guru membuat instrument evaluasi dengan menggunakan aplikasi quizizz. Setelah pelaksanaan program, terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru di dalam membuat dan memanfaatkan quizizz sebagai sarana pembelajaran berbasis games.

Abstract

The ability of students to perform quantitative data analysis is a crucial skill in conducting scientific research. However, many students face challenges, both in selecting appropriate analytical techniques relevant to their research topics and in using data analysis software such as SPSS or other supporting applications. These challenges often hinder students in analyzing research data effectively. This community service activity aims to enhance students' skills in identifying suitable analytical techniques for scientific research and in using data analysis software such as SPSS. The implementation methods include delivering materials on descriptive and inferential statistics, conducting simulations on SPSS usage, and facilitating discussion and Q&A sessions. The results of the training show an improvement in participants’ understanding of how to choose appropriate analytical techniques and operate statistical software for research purposes. This activity also contributes to increasing students’ confidence and independence in conducting scientific research. The training is expected to serve as a sustainable and integrated model for academic development in higher education institutions.
