Abstract

Para petani di Pekon Giham Sukamaju Kecamatan Sekincau Kabupatan Lampung Barat Provinsi Lampung  sudah menggunakan kotoran sapi untuk memupuk tanaman yang mereka budidayakan. Kegiatan penyuluhan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan praktis kepada para petani tentang teknik dekomposisi dalam pembuatan pupuk organik dari limbah kotoran sapi.  Dengan metode ceramah dan diskusi, penyuluhan yang dilakukan pada 31 Januari 2024 tentang teknik dekomposisi dalam pembuatan pupuk organik dari limbah ternak sapi mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan petani (mengubah pola pikir) dan mengubah pola bersikap petani untuk mau melakukan pembuatan pupuk organik dari limbah ternak sapi dengan teknik dekomposisi di masa depan.  Penyuluhan ini perlu dilanjutkan dengan metode petak percontohan atau demplot untuk meningkatkan keterampilan para petani dalam pembuatan pupuk organik dari limbah ternak sapi.

Abstract

Lampung is one of the biggest areas for cassava and also Indonesia gets the number five in the world for cassava production.  At harvest time, it would produce huge source of potassium (K) from the stem.  Unfortunately this source of K is not used yet until now.  Consequently, the objective of activity was to educate the farmers in order to use the fresh cassava stem by chipping in small size as potassium source.  This activity was conducted in Pekon Giham Sukamaju, Kecamatan Sekincau, Kabupaten Lampung Barat on January 31st 2024.  The method that was used in this activity was to discuss and present the way of producing small chip of fresh cassava stem.  The evaluation of farmer perception to understand the method was questionnaire containing 10 questions to be answered by farmers.  The result was before discussion, farmers still do not know or recognize yet that fresh cassava stem could be used as a K source.  However, after presenting the material of discussion, in general, they were interested in using small chip cassava stem for K source to fertilize the horticulture crops in their land.

Abstract

Kabupaten Mesuji Propinsi Lampungmerupakan sentra produksi padi, termasuk juga DesaSidang Waypuji yang ada di wilayah itu. Dalammempertahankan produktivitas lahan selainpenggunaan pupuk juga perlu melakukan pergiliranvarietas. Suatu petak percontohan telah dilakukan sejakJuni hingga September 2024 untuk memperkenalkankinerja pertumbuhan dan hasil padi varietas unggulnasional IPB-3S. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan denganmetode parsipatori. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwapara petani meyakini bahwa padi varietas IPB-3S adalahunggul dan layak dibudidayakan di wilayah ini yangpada Musim Tanam-2 mencapai hasil 6,04 ton/hadengan rendeman gabah kering giling ke beras 68%.

Abstract

Salah satu varietas unggul baru padi adalah IPB-9G yang dirancang untuk ditanam di lahan tegalan.  Namun demikian varietas ini juga dapat berproduksi dengan baik ketika ditanam di lahan sawah.  Salah satu masalah yang dihadapi petani adalah salinitas lahan yang menjadi penyebab rendahnya hasil. Hasil ini dimungkinkan untuk terus ditingkatkan antara lain dengan cara introduksi varietas padi unggul baru.  Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengedukasi tokoh-tokoh petani dan petani di Desa Sidang Way Puji, Kecamatan Rawa Jitu Utara, Kabupaten Mesuji, Lampung. Demplot dilaksanakan dilaksanakan di lahan petani Desa Sidang Way Puji, Kecamatan Rawajitu Utara, Kabupaten Mesuji, Lampung.  Hasil yang diperoleh (4.618 kg/ha) masih cukup bagus dibanding hasil yang mereka peroleh selama ini.  Terdapat indikasi bahwa IPB-9G masih dapat berproduksi cukup baik di lahan dengan salinitas cukup tinggi seperti di desa tersebut.  Penyuluhan dan sosialisasi dilaksanakan di rumah salah seorang petani Desa Sidang Way Puji.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem pakan cerdas berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pemberian pakan di peternakan kambing umbaran. Sistem ini secara otomatis mengatur dispenser pakan sesuai dengan jadwal yang telah ditentukan, sehingga memudahkan peternak dalam manajemen pakan. Pengujian sistem menunjukkan efektivitas dalam mengurangi waktu pemberian pakan dan meminimalkan pemborosan. Selain itu, sistem dilengkapi dengan layar LCD yang menampilkan status dispenser, memberikan informasi real-time kepada peternak. Teknologi ini juga memungkinkan pemantauan jarak jauh, sehingga peternak dapat mengelola pakan dengan lebih baik. Dengan penerapan sistem ini, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan kesejahteraan ternak, serta mendorong modernisasi dalam praktik peternakan di Indonesia. Inovasi ini diharapkan menjadi solusi yang berkelanjutan untuk tantangan dalam manajemen pakan, memberikan manfaat jangka panjang bagi peternak dan industri peternakan secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Rice growth and yield can be increased through various efforts, including the use of "high-yielding varieties, fertilization, soil conditioners with application of plant growth regulators (PGRs). Soil conditioners namely as biochar are carbon products that can enhance plant productivity through enhancing the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of the soil, while cytokinine benzyladenine (BA) is a PGR that has been widely documented to stimulate cell growth, cell division, and differentiation in rice plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of biochar and benzyladenine (BA) on the growth and yield of the IR Nutrizinc rice variety. Data collection was carried out in October 2024 - February 2025 in Kampung Payung Rejo, Pubian District, Central Lampung Regency. The treatments were arranged factorially (2x3) using a completely randomized design with 3 replications. Factor I was without biochar and given 20 tons/ha of biochar. The second factor was 3 benzladenin (BA) concentrations, namely 0 ppm, 50 ppm, and 100 ppm applied by spraying on the surface of the plant at 20, 30, and 40-days after transplanting, while the biochar application was implemented 2 weeks before transplanting. Observed variables included plant height, maximum tillers per clump, count of productive tillers, length of panicles, and grains per panicle, percentage of empty grains per panicle, dry harvested grain yield, dry harvest grain yield, 1000 grain weight and dry weight of the crownThe Bartlett test was employed to assess the homogeneity of variance among treatments then analysis of variance was carried outIf a notable difference existed between treatments, the BNT test was carried out at the 5% significance level. The findings indicated that applying 20 tons/ha of biochar enhanced the yield components in terms of dry harvested grain, dry milled grain, and dry shoot weight The application of 50 ppm BA was able to increase the growth and yield of grain compared to without benzyladenine (BA). The combination of biochar and BA enhanced the growth and yield of grain in terms of the number of grains per panicle, dry harvested grain, and dry milled grain. Abstract

Efficient detection of foliar diseases in cassava (Manihot esculenta) is essential for sustaining crop productivity and ensuring food security, particularly in regions vulnerable to environmental stress. However, accurate identification remains a challenge due to the widespread occurrence of diseases such as Cassava Mosaic Disease (CMD), Cassava Bacterial Blight (CBB), and Cassava Brown Streak Disease (CBSD), which continue to threaten cassava yields. This study addresses two major obstacles in cassava disease classification—uneven image quality and imbalanced class distribution—by implementing Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) and the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE). A publicly available dataset from the Cassava Leaf Disease Classification competition on Kaggle was used, and two pretrained convolutional neural networks, EfficientNetV2B2 and DenseNet169, were fine-tuned through transfer learning. The images were resized, enhanced using CLAHE, and augmented before being split into training, validation, and test sets. Both models were trained for 10 epochs using identical configurations. Results indicate that EfficientNetV2B2 achieved higher classification accuracy (88.1%) than DenseNet169 (86.4%), with CLAHE contributing a 2–3% improvement in accuracy. While these results are slightly lower than those reported in previous studies employing extended training durations and advanced techniques such as focal loss, the lightweight approach presented here proves effective under computational constraints. The findings demonstrate the feasibility of developing scalable and resource-efficient disease detection systems, especially for mobile or edge devices. Future research should focus on longer training schedules, advanced loss functions, and validation using field-acquired images to further improve model performance in real-world agricultural settings.

Abstract

Laju kemunduran benih sorgum (Sorghum bicolor [L.] Moench) selama periode III, terutama selama penyimpanan dalam ruang simpan ber-AC cukup langka dilaporkan, karena itu terjadi dalam periode simpan yang cukup lama. Laju kemunduran benih sangat menentukan batas anomali benih. Batas anomaly adalah peralihan dari benih bermutu ke benih bukan bermutu. Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengukur laju kemunduran benih tiga genotipe sorgum yang disimpan dalam ruang ber-AC dengan suhu 18±1,44°C yang dilakukan di Laboratorium Benih dan Pemuliaan Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung pada bulan Desember 2020 sampai bulan Maret 2021. Bahan-bahan yang digunakan yaitu benih sorgum genotipe Super-1 dan Talaga Bodas yang telah disimpan dalam ruang ber-AC selama 23 bulan dan 32 bulan, dan genotipe UPCA-S1 yang telah disimpan selama 23 dan 34 bulan. Metode perkecambahan yang dilakukan untuk mengukur laju kemunduran benih yaitu dengan uji kertas digulung (UKD). Analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi dan uji t student pada tarafnyata 5%. Berdasarkan variabel daya berkecambah, selama periode penyimpanan 23-34 bulan laju kemunduran benih sorgum genotipe Talaga Bodas adalah 7,16 %/bulan,  genotipe Super-1 adalah 2,62 %/bulan, dan genotipe UPCA-S1 adalah 1,31 %/bulan.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian guna menentukan ukuran wadah yang tepat dan kadar kapur tohor yang ideal agar dapat menjaga viabilitas tetap tinggi selama penyimpanan 17 bulan.  Laboratorium Benih dan Pemuliaan Tanaman ialah lokasi penelitian beserta waktunya di Januari-Juli 2023. Metodologi penelitian ialah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK). Pada setiap kelompok perlakuan terdapat dua faktor (5x2) disertai pengulangan 3 kali di tiap kelompok. Faktor I ialah proporsi bobot kapur tohor (K) yang mencakup: 0,0% (k0); 7,5% (k1); 15,0% (k2); 22,5% (k3); 30,0% (k4). Faktor II ialah volume wadah simpan (W) yang mencakup; wadah simpan ukuran 3 l (w1) beserta wadah simpan ukuran 5 l (w2). Variabel pengamatan meliputi daya berkecambah, kecepatan pekecambahan, kecambah normal kuat, panjang hipokotil, bobot kering kecambah normal, kadar air beserta daya hantar listrik. Homogenitas ragam perlakuan diuji melalui uji Bartlett, aditivitas data diuji melalui uji Tukey, ketika asumsinya terpenuhi dilakukan pemisahan nilai tengah perlakuan, disambung perbandingan ortogonal di taraf α 5%. Penggunaan wadah simpan 5 l menghasilkan panjang hipokotil (13,84 cm) lebih besar daripada wadah simpan 3 l. Penggunaan proporsi kapur tohor 0 sampai 30% mempertahankan daya berkecambah, kecepatan perkecambahan, panjang hipokotil, dan kecambah normal kuat tetap tinggi, tetapi bobot kering kecambah normal semakin rendah selama penyimpanan 13, 15, dan 17 bulan secara linear. Disarankan untuk melanjutkan penelitian dengan menggunakan proporsi kapur tohor yang berbeda, dan waktu simpan yang lebih lama, serta dilakukan pengujian viabilitas benih di lapang.

Abstract

The modern stage of development of science and technology is characterized by a rapid increase in the complexity of the created technical systems. The management of such systems requires the development of new management methods, since the modification and improvement of traditional management techniques does not always ensure the fulfillment of stringent requirements for management quality indicators. Classical control methods are mainly based on the theory of linear systems, while most real objects are non-linear. The problem of the synthesis of control systems under conditions of uncertainty is currently one of the central problems in the modern theory of automatic control. The complexity of the control object itself, structural, parametric and information uncertainties in the description of the control object, and the complexity of control problems, the multi criteria of optimization problems, the lack of possible analytical solutions, the need to take into account all the properties of disturbances, etc. The solution to this problem requires a search for alternative approaches to the design of control systems, one of which involves the introduction of neural network systems. Neural network control systems are a high-tech direction of control theory and belong to the class of nonlinear dynamic systems. High performance due to parallelization of input information in combination with the ability to train neural networks makes this technology very attractive for creating control devices in automatic systems. Neural networks can be used to build regulating and switching devices, reference, adaptive, nominal and inverse-dynamic models of objects, on the basis of which objects are studied, analysis of the influence of disturbances acting on an object, determination of the optimal control law, search or calculating the optimal program for changing the impact when changing the values of the parameters of the object and the characteristics of the input data. In addition, neural networks can be used to identify objects, predict the state of objects, recognize, cluster, classify, analyze a large amount of data arriving at high speed from a large number of devices and sensors, and the like. The ability to learn according to a given principle of functioning allows creating automated control systems that are optimal in terms of speed, energy consumption, etc. Naturally, in this case, it is possible to implement several principles of functioning and the transition from one to another. They are a universal tool for modeling multidimensional nonlinear objects and finding solutions to ill-posed problems.
