Abstract

Q.S. al-Alaq [96]:1-5, widely regarded as the Quran’s first revelation, presents a foundational epistemological vision that emphasizes literacy, divine-human connection, and the pursuit of knowledge. More than a simple command to “read,” the passage constitutes an ethical and spiritual framework that remains deeply relevant in modern educational context, particularly amid the challenges posed by digital fragmentation, superficial information consumption, and declining spiritual orientation. This study critically examines the epistemology of Islamic education embedded in Q.S. Q.S. al-Alaq [96]:1-5 through the lens of Tafsîr Maqâidî, a purposive interpretive approach seeking to uncover the higher objectives (maqâșidî) of the text. Utilizing library research and comparative textual analysis, it engages classical and contemporary exegeses, including Tafsîr al-Țabarî, Tafsîr al-Qurțubî, Tafsîr al-Misbah, and the works of Ibn Âshûr and Jasser Auda. Three core contributions emerge. First, the study proposes a tawhîd-centered literacy paradigm that aligns reading with spiritual awareness. Second, it constructs an integrative epistemological model wherein revelation and reason (‘aql) are coequal sources of knowledge. Third, it frames moral responsibility and lifelong learning as essential components of Islamic educational philosophy. By articulating a spiritually grounded, purpose-driven vision of education, this study offers a timely and transformative response to the epistemic crises of the digital age. It contributes to contemporary Islamic educational discourse by reasserting the Quranic foundation for ethical, holistic, and forward-looking learning frameworks.

Abstract

The integration of digital technology into Arabic language education has become increasingly relevant in the context of 21st-century learning, especially in addressing challenges such as low student interest and the perception that Arabic is a difficult subject. This study aims to explore the integration of digital technology in Arabic language learning within Islamic boarding schools. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative data from surveys with 100 female students and 4 Arabic teachers from two institutions at Pondok Pesantren Syaikh Zainuddin NW Anjani, and qualitative data from semi-structured interviews and classroom observations. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were thematically analyzed. The results show that both students and teachers generally perceive technology positively in Arabic learning. It enhances motivation, expands access to resources, encourages collaborative learning, and allows for personalized instruction. Nevertheless, challenges include limited access to devices, inadequate quality of digital content, and insufficient digital competencies among teachers. In conclusion, the integration of digital technology holds great promise for improving Arabic language instruction, provided there is sufficient institutional investment in infrastructure and teacher training.

Abstract

The increasing security concerns and urban lifestyle distractions have led to negligence in home security. Consequently, innovative security systems are necessary to automatically assist homeowners in securing their homes. This research addresses this issue by proposing the implementation of an automatic door lock security system through the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol on the NodeMCU ESP32. It aims to integrate existing home security systems with the Internet of Things platform using the Telegram Bot API, focusing particularly on access control for entering and exiting the house. By employing the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurement method, this research determined the ideal distance for automatic door locking by the security system. After collecting the data using one device, the researcher tested them nine times at distances ranging from 0 to 2 meters. The results indicated that the system had a detection limit at a distance of 1 meter with a signal strength value of -85 dBm. Additionally, the power consumption of the security device was measured at 1.645 mA, and the average delay time for data transmission from transmitter to receiver reached approximately 2.22 ms. In conclusion, the prototype security system in this research was successfully designed and operated according to its objectives

Abstract

This research is motivated by the controversy that arose due to the delivery of crude humor with a derogatory tone by the famous preacher Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman to Mr. Sunhaji, which drew widespread criticism from the public. This phenomenon is interesting to study from the perspective of Islamic preaching ethics, especially from the perspective of Indonesian cleric and intellectual, Quraish Shihab. The study aims to investigate how ethics and preaching strategies should be applied in delivering religious messages, as well as how interactions between preachers and audiences can influence public perception of the image of Islam. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach, focusing on the analysis of controversial preaching events. The results show that ideally preaching should be delivered wisely, with noble morals, inclusively, without offending certain parties, and with patience. In conclusion, the use of humor in preaching must remain within the corridor of ethics, respect human dignity, and reflect the values of Islam which are rahmatan lil 'alamin. Therefore, preachers need to be more careful in choosing a communication style so that the preaching message does not actually cause resistance or misunderstanding in society

Abstract

Migrant workers constitute an essential component of the global labor landscape, including in South Korea, which has experienced increasing reliance on foreign labor across various industrial sectors. Their presence significantly contributes to national economic growth, particularly in occupations that are less desirable to the local workforce. However, behind these economic contributions, migrant workers often face serious challenges related to legal protection, fundamental rights, and guarantees of decent welfare. Many encounter discriminatory treatment, inhumane working conditions, and obstacles in accessing legal justice. Within this context, it is crucial to evaluate the policies formulated and implemented by the South Korean government in protecting migrant workers. This study adopts a normative juridical method, using legislative and conceptual approaches. This method enables the examination and analysis of applicable legal norms, both within South Korea’s domestic regulations and in international legal instruments such as ILO conventions and relevant human rights declarations. The analysis is conducted through the review of primary legal materials, including statutory regulations, as well as secondary sources such as literature, scholarly articles, and academic documents discussing legal protection, workers' rights, and principles of social justice. The study aims to develop a normative understanding of how the state should ensure the rights and welfare of migrant workers in a fair, equitable, and humane manner, and to provide a theoretical foundation for the development of more inclusive and responsive labor policies.
