Abstract

Penambahan tepung pisang ambon dalam pakan komersil dapat meningkatkan status kesehatan ikan gurami secara signifikan karena kandungan senyawa imunostimulan dalam tepung btang pisang. Penelitian yang dilaksanakan selama 40 hari menggunakan benih ikan nila ukuran 3-5 cm dengan menggunakan metode rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan yaitu pemberian tepung batang pisang yang dicoating pada pakan komersil (30 g/kg pakan) dengan lama pemeliharaan ikan nila selama 7 hari (P7) pemberian pakan pada pemeliharaan ikan nila selama 14 hari (P14), pemberian pakan pada pemeliharaan ikan nila selama 28 hari (P28), pemberian pakan tanpa tambahan tepung batang pisang pada pemeliharaan ikan nila (Kontrol). Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata nilai survival rate dan parameter pertumbuhan berat dan panjang tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata secara signifikan (P<0,05). Namun berbeda nyata secara signifikan pada parameter glukosa darah. Hal tersebut diduga karna adanya pengaruh senyawa anti nutrisi yang berperan sebagai anti mikroba yang terdapat pada batang pisang. Penambahan tepung batang pisang ini, walaupun tidak berbeda secara signifikan dalam peningkatan pertumbuhan. Namun pertumbuhan ikan nila selama pemeliharaan masih meningkat dibandingkan diawal pemeliharaan.   The addition of Ambon banana flour to commercial feed can significantly improve the health status of gourami due to the content of immunostimulating compounds in banana stem flour. The research was carried out for 40 days using tilapia seeds measuring 3-5 cm using a completely randomized design (CRD) method with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely feeding tilapia rearing for 7 days (P7) feeding tilapia rearing for 14 days (P14), feeding on tilapia rearing for 28 days (P28), feeding without additional banana stem flour on tilapia rearing (Control). The results showed that the average survival rate and growth parameters for weight and length did not show a significantly different effect (P<0.05). But significantly different in blood glucose parameters. This is presumably due to the influence of anti-nutrition compounds that act as anti-microbials found in banana stems. The addition of banana stem flour, although not significantly different in increasing growth. However, the growth of tilapia during maintenance still increased compared to the beginning of maintenance.

Abstract

Pemilihan jenis pakan adalah salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat keberhasilan budidaya ikan. Penggunaan pakan komersil dengan protein rendah 15 % kurang optimal dalam pertumbuhan benih ikan baung, selain itu biaya produksi yang diperlukan juga cukup tinggi. Penambahan pakan alami seperti cacing sutra adalah salah satu jenis pakan alternatif yang dapat digunakan dan diketahui mempunyai kandungan gizi protein tinggi yang disukai oleh benih ikan baung. Kombinasi antara pakan komersil dan cacing sutra pada penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keberlangsungan hidup dan mempercepat pertumbuhan benih ikan baung. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 16 hari menggunakan benih ikan baung dengan ukuran berkisaran antara 1 - 1.15 cm dengan menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu pemberian pakan pelet komersil (P), pakan cacing sutera (C), serta pakan kombinasi antara pelet komersil 50 % dan cacing sutera 50 % (CP) yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan jenis pakan yang berbeda berpengaruh nyata (P<0.05) terhadap panjang dan bobot akhir, pertumbuhan panjang mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, serta tingkat kelangsungan hidup benih ikan baung, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0.05) terhadap koefisien keragaman dan faktor kondisi benih ikan baung. Perlakuan pemberian pakan kombinasi pelet komersil dan cacing sutera (50%:50%) pada benih ikan baung dapat meningkatkan persentase kelangsungan hidup sebesar 89 % selama 16 hari pemeliharaan.   The choice of feed type is one of the factors that influences the success rate of fish farming. The use of commercial feed with a low protein of 15% is less than optimal for the growth of baung fish fry, besides that the production costs required are also quite high. The addition of natural feed such as silk worms is one type of alternative feed that can be used and is known to have high protein nutritional content which is preferred by baung fish fry. The combination of commercial feed and silk worms in this research is expected to increase survival and accelerate the growth of baung fish fry. This research was carried out for 16 days using baung fish fry with sizes ranging from 1 - 1.15 cm using a completely randomized design method with 3 treatments, namely commercial pellet feeding (P), silk worm feeding (C), and a combination of 50 commercial pellets. % and 50% silk worms (CP) which were repeated 3 times. The results of the study showed that treatment with different types of feed had a significant effect (P<0.05) on final length and weight, absolute length growth, specific growth rate, and survival rate of baung fish fry, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the diversity coefficient. and factors regarding the condition of baung fish seeds. The treatment of feeding a combination of commercial pellets and silk worms (50%:50%) to baung fish fry can increase the survival percentage by 89% for 16 days of rearing.

Abstract

  Gunung Riting waters are located in Belitung Regency which has high water biota resource potential. One biota that has a high economic value is the feather shell (Anadara antiquata). Feather shells generally live in muddy waters in shallow waters with a high turbidity levels and are one of the important commodities that are very potentially developed. The purpose of this study was to find out the abundance, growth patterns and water quality in the waters of gunung which is the habitat of feather shells. The study was conducted from December 2019 to January 2020 at 3 sampling stations, sampling using the transect method. The results of the study obtained that the highest number of feather shells found in the waters of gunung riting obtained at Station 2 is 506 feather shells with an abundance of 33.73 individuals/m2, the pattern of growth of feather shells in the waters of gunung riting has an negative allometric growth pattern where long growth is more dominant than weight growth and the water quality obtained is able to support the growth and abundance of feather shells in the waters of gunung riting.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of dietary curcuma infusion supplementation on growth performance and survival rate in giant gouramy. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments tested were giving different doses of curcuma infusion, 0.2 g (P1), 0.4 g (P2), 0.6 g (P3), 0.8 g (P4). The experimental fish used were giant gourami with an average body weight of 0.28 ± 0.01 g which were reared for 30 days in 40x30x25 cm3 sized plastic box containing 20 L of water. Feed was given at satiation method twice a day, at 08.00 and 16.00 pm. The research parameters observed include Weight and Length Growth Rate, Survival Rate, and water quality. The results showed that the dietary curcuma infusion supplementation was able to increase the growth performance and survival rate of giant gouramy. Curcuma infusion dose of 0.8 g resulted in the best growth performance and survival which was not significantly different between treatments. Water quality parameters during maintenance are still in optimal conditions for fish growth.

Abstract

Perbedaan kondisi lingkungan tempat hidup ikan putak Notopterus notopterus dapat mempengaruhi distribusi dan variasi morfologi ikan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui karakteristik morfometrik, meristik dan nisbah kelain Ikan putak di Sumatera Selatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei yang bersifat deskriptif dengan menggunakan Ikan putak sebagai objek penelitian. Pengambilan sampel ikan putak dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling pada 3 stasiun tempat pengambilan sampel, yaitu stasiun 1 penampungan ikan putak yang ada di desa Epil Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin, Stasiun 2 terletak di BBI Sukarela Kabupaten Banyuasin, dan Stasiun 3 tengkulak ikan putak yang terletak di Sianjur 3 Kota Palembang. Sampel yang diperoleh diamati mengunakan acuan penelitian terdahulu dan diolah dengan analisis sederhana hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari ketiga stasiun tersebut, ada 11 karakter yang sama yang menunjukkan status alometrik positif, yaitu lebar kepala (HW), jarak antara sirip anal dan perut (PEFL), panjang sirip punggung (DFL), lebar sirip dubur bagian atas (NAFL), lebar sirip punggung (NPF), kedalaman kepala (HD), lebar sirip dubur (AFW), tinggi badan (BD), jarak linea lateralis ke tubuh bagian bawah (DLB), jarak linea lateralis bagian atas (DLU), dan lebar tulang sirip punggung (DSW). Disamping itu 3 stasiun tersebut ada 3 karakter yang dengan status hubungan kuat, yaitu panjang standar (SL), panjang sirip punggung (DFL), dan lebar sirip punggung (NPF). Berdasarkan data tersebut pada stasiun 1 dan 3 menunjukkan perbandingan jenis kelamin didominasi oleh ikan putak jantan sehingga dapat dikatakan populasi ikan putak di stasiun 1 dan 3 tidak ideal. Differences in environmental conditions where the Notopterus notopterus fish live can influence the distribution and variation in fish morphology. The aim of the research was to determine the morphometric characteristics, meristics and diversity ratios of knife fish in South Sumatra. The method used in this research is a descriptive survey method using knife fish as the research object. Sampling of knife fish was carried out using the purposive sampling method at 3 stations where samples were taken, namely station 1, the knife fish shelter in Epil village, Musi Banyuasin Regency, Station 2 located at BBI Sukarela Banyuasin Regency, and Station 3, the knife fish middleman located at Sianjur 3 Palembang City. The samples obtained were observed using previous research references and processed with simple analysis. The research results showed that from the third station, there were the same 11 characters that indicated positive allometric status, namely head width (HW), distance between anal and pelvic fins (PEFL), dorsal fin length (DFL), upper anal fin width (NAFL), dorsal fin width (NPF), head depth (HD), anal fin width (AFW), body height (BD), distance of linea lateralis to lower body ( DLB), distance to the lateral line upper (DLU), and dorsal fin width (DSW). Beside these 3 stations, there are 3 characters with strong relationship status, namely standard length (SL), dorsal fin length (DFL), and dorsal fin width (NPF). Based on this data, stations 1 and 3 show that the sex ratio is dominated by male putak fish, so it can be said that the knife fish population at stations 1 and 3 is not ideal.

Abstract

This community service in Talang Keramat Village, South Sumatra, Indonesia, aimed to empower homemakers by valorising fish skin waste. The primary objective was to promote its use in processed food to improve nutrition and economic prospects. The project specifically sought to: (1) enhance understanding of fish skin's potential as a raw material for nutritious and economically viable food; (2) demonstrate practical methods for processing fish skin into food products; and (3) shift community perception regarding the benefits of utilizing fish skin waste. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with implementation in three phases: pre- and post-test questionnaires to assess comprehension; educational material on transforming fish skin waste; and a demonstration of processed food preparation. Sixteen homemakers participated in the one-day activity. Results showed that 75.00% understood the nutritional and economic value of fish skin waste, 81.25% could explain processing methods, and 87.50% showed improved understanding of its benefits. In conclusion, this community service successfully empowered homemakers with the knowledge and skills to convert fish waste into valuable food products, contributing to nutritional enhancement and economic empowerment within the community.

Abstract

The success of goldfish (Carrasius auratus) spawning is influenced by several factors, including the substrate media for fish spawning. This study aims to analyze the utilization of different substrates on the productivity of goldfish which includes the number of eggs attached to the substrate, the number of fertilized eggs, the number of eggs that hatch, and the survival of goldfish. The research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, including P1 coconut coir substrate, P2 knitting yarn substrate, P3 Hydrilla sp substrate, and P4 Pistia stratiotes L substrate. The results showed that a lot of goldfish eggs attached to the apu-apu substrate (treatment P4) of 1,959 eggs, the highest number of fertilized eggs was obtained on the substrate Hydrilla sp (treatment P3) of 65.65%, the highest number of eggs hatched on the substrate Hydrilla sp. (P3 treatment) was 78.54%, the highest survival rate was on Pistia stratiotes L substrate (P4) was 85.97 and the results of water quality analysis during the study supported the productivity of goldfish seeds.

Abstract

Potensi perikanan tangkap laut belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal di Sumatera Selatan. Nelayan sebagai tenaga kerja usia produktif di wilayah pesisir merupakan subjek pengelolaan sumber daya perairan setempat selain perahu motor tempel yang merupakan salah satu elemen utama dalam meningkatkan produktivitas nelayan. Penelitian menggunakan data deret waktu, yaitu jumlah perahu motor tempel, nelayan, dan ikan yang ditangkap selama  tahun 2013 dan 2022. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui  jumlah perahu motor tempel dan nelayan dalam mempengaruhi jumlah ikan yang ditangkap. Metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif digunakan dalam analisis data. R2 = 0,032 menunjukkan bahwa jumlah perahu motor tempel dan nelayan memiliki pengaruh yang sangat kecil terhadap jumlah ikan yang ditangkap. Nilai signifikansi F adalah 0,891 > 0,05, yang menunjukkan bahwa produksi ikan tidak dipengaruhi oleh jumlah perahu motor tempel dan nelayan. Jumlah perahu motor tempel dan nelayan tidak secara independen mempengaruhi hasil tangkapan ikan, berdasarkan nilai signifikansi t sebesar 0,976 > 0,05 dan 0,677 > 0,05. Jumlah nelayan dan perahu motor tempel tidak berpengaruh terhadap produksi dikarenakan musim penangkapan ikan, cuaca, peraturan pemerintah, dan karakteristik tradisional nelayan serta secara teknis belum  menggunakan teknologi penangkapan modern.   The potential of marine capture fisheries has not been optimally utilized in South Sumatra. Fishermen as productive age workers in coastal areas are the subject of local water resource management in addition to outboard motor boats which are one of the main elements in increasing fishermen's productivity. The study uses time series data, namely the number of outboard motor boats, fishermen, and fish caught during 2013 and 2022. The purpose of the study was to find out the number of outboard motorboats and fishermen in influencing the number of fish caught. Qualitative and quantitative methods are used in data analysis. R2 = 0.032 indicates that the number of outboard motor boats and fishermen has a very small influence on the number of fish caught. The significance value of F was 0.891 > 0.05, which indicates that fish production was not affected by the number of outboard motor boats and fishermen. The number of outboard motorboats and fishermen did not independently affect the fish catch, based on the significance values of t of 0.976 > 0.05 and 0.677 > 0.05. The number of fishermen and outboard motorboats has no effect on production due to fishing seasons, weather, government regulations, and traditional characteristics of fishermen and technically do not use modern fishing technology.

Abstract

Proses moulting berjalan dengan baik diperlukan yakni suplemen tambahan agar dapat membantu terjadinya  pada saat proses terjadinya moulting. Salah satu bahan alternatif yang diduga dapat dimanfaatkan adalah cacahan batang pisang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui performa pertumbuhan, kelangsungan hidup, FCR dan kualitas air selama penelitian serta mengetahui lama perlakuan perendaman cacahan batang pisang tertinggi dalam pemeliharaan lobster air tawar. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 taraf perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan dengan konsentrasi 5 g/l. pada perlakuan P0: Kontrol, P1: Perendaman Cacahan batang pisang pergantian 3 hari sekali, P2: Perendaman Cacahan batang pisang pergantian 7 hari sekali, P3: Perendaman Cacahan batang pisang tanpa pergantian. Data Parameter pertumbuhan, kelangsungan hidup dan FCR dianalisis dengan SPSS versi 16.0 dengan analisis ragam (ANOVA) pada selang kepercayaan 95%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perendaman cacahan batang pisang dengan konsentrasi 5 gram/liter berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan berat, pertumbuhan panjang, rasio konversi pakan dan kelangsungan hidup lobster air tawar. 2. Hasil lama Perendeman yang tertinggi selama penelitian yaitu pada pelakuan P3 perendaman cacahan batang pisang tanpa pergantian dengan konsentrasi 5 gram/liter. Menghasilkan pertumbuhan berat mutlak sebesar 2,61 gr, pertumbuhan panjang mutlak sebesar 3,11 cm, rasio konversi pakan sebesar 1,70, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup 100.00%.The moulting process in crayfish is running well, namely additional supplements are needed to help the process of moulting. One alternative material that is thought to be able to be used is shredded banana stems. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth performance, survival, FCR and water quality during the study and to determine the duration of the highest banana stem immersion treatment in crayfish maintenance. The research method used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment levels with 3 replications with a concentration of 5 g / l. in treatment P0: Control, P1: Soaking Banana Stem Shreds every 3 days, P2: Soaking Banana Stem Shreds every 7 days, P3: Soaking Banana Stem Shreds without replacement. Data on growth parameters, survival and FCR were analyzed using SPSS version 16.0 with analysis of variance (ANOVA) at a 95% confidence interval. Based on the results of the study, it showed that soaking banana stem shreds with a concentration of 5 grams/liter affected weight growth, length growth, feed conversion ratio and survival of crayfishs. 2. The highest soaking time results during the study were in the P3 treatment of soaking banana stem shreds without replacement with a concentration of 5 grams/liter. Producing an absolute weight growth of 2.61 grams, an absolute length growth of 3.11 cm, a feed conversion ratio of 1.70, and a survival rate of 100.00%.

Abstract

The aim of this community service is to provide education about stunting and the use of fish products to prevent stunting to the students at SMA Negeri 2 Muara Sugihan, Banyuasin Regency. The method used in community service activities was socialization of stunting prevention through consumption of fish products for high school students, using public lectures and demonstrations with predetermined themes. The community service activity is expected to have a positive impact in an increasing of students' understanding for stunting and its prevention by consuming various processed fish products. The results of implementing community service were evaluated regarding students' understanding of the material presented in the form of achievement indicators and benchmarks. Based on the results of implementing community service, participants were able to understand the definition, causes and ways to prevent stunting. Then the participants were also able to understand the nutritional content of fish and its benefits in preventing stunting. In addition, the participants have learned about various types of processed fish products. Overall, consumption of fish products is beneficial to prevent in developing countries occurrence of stunting through application of nutritional education in community service activities.
