Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of animated video media on the ability to comprehend the content of Indonesian language stories among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 05 Palembang. This study was motivated by the low level of students’ ability to comprehend story content. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a control group design, consisting of two groups: a control class and an experimental class. The research sample consisted of all fourth-grade students, namely IVA and IVB. The average posttest score for the experimental class was 78.41, while that of the control class was only 68.72; therefore, it can be concluded that there was an improvement in listening comprehension scores through the use of animated video media. The results of the independent samples t-test showed a significant value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted; thus, there is a significant difference between the control and experimental groups. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of animated video media influences the ability to comprehend story content.

Abstract

Short stories are a type of short prose work that is imaginative. Short stories only have one plot, one theme, and character characters. Therefore, the difficulty of peseta didik that often arises in learning the skill of writing short story texts is the difficulty of plot and theme. The problem in this study is how to apply learning to write short ceita texts through the image streaming method in grade X students of SMA PGRI 2 Palembang. The purpose of this study is to find out the application of learning to write short story texts through the image streaming method in grade X students of SMA PGRI 2 Palembang. The method of this research is a quantitative experiment. The results of this study show that the image streaming method has the application of the image streaming learning method in learning to write short story texts in grade X students of SMA PGRI 2 Palembang in learning outcomes. Therefore, the image streaming learning method can be applied in Indonesian learning.
