Abstract

It has not been maximized in mastering Maulid Habsyi so it is necessary to facilitate and improve the pronunciation. This PKM method, namely the service learning method, was established because in it there are elements of activities to develop a person or community (Mustofa, 2019) as in this PKM solves the problem of not being able to take advantage of time by actively participating in activities, namely Maulid Habsyi. The findings of this PKM are that with this activity, Maulid Habsyi is active again, in addition to the goal of smoothing and improving the training, this training also makes the time they pass more useful. Based on the results of the Maulid Habsyi training program through audio-visual media, it can be concluded that it makes it easier for the participants to understand and be enthusiastic in training, helping and serving to foster enthusiasm to strengthen Habsyi art culture and is expected to create regeneration

Abstract

Fungsi cerita rakyat sebagai identitas masyarakat membuat cerita rakyat dapat dikembangkan menjadi strategi branding tempat yang didiami masyarakat penciptanya. Salah satu bidang yang dapat memanfaatkan fungsi cerita rakyat tersebut adalah sektor pariwisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh cerita rakyat terhadap destinasi wisata dan memberikan rekomendasi cerita rakyat yang dapat digunakan untuk strategi branding destinasi wisata di Sumatera Barat Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan tahapan pengumpulan data dari kajian pustaka. Data juga dikumpulkan dari berbagai destinasi wisata potensial di Sumatera Barat, baik potensial dalam hal kepariwisataan maupun dalam kesastraan. Data pendukung didapat dari wawancara dengan subjek relevan, seperti Dinas Pariwisata, Agen Tour and Travel, dan Pemandu Wisata. Tahapan analisis data menggunakan pendekatan sastra pariwisata dan teori Storynomics. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah cerita rakyat memiliki pengaruh sebagai daya tarik destinasi wisata, sebagai narasi panduan wisata, dan sebagai narasi dalam mempromosikan destinasi wisata. selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan cerita rakyat selain Legenda Malin Kundang yang dapat dikembangkan menjadi strategi branding destinasi wisata; Legenda Ngarai Sianok, Legenda Danau Kembar, Legenda Tuanku Taram, dan Legenda Danau Maninjau.

Abstract

This article aims to investigate the culture of gotong royong originating from the Angkola-Mandailing ethnicity, especially related to their thick agrarian life. The focus is on a tradition of mutual aid called marsialap ari. This research also uses qualitative methods by analyzing literature sources and conducting field research. Data sources used include observation, interviews, and documentation. Emile Durkheim's theory of social solidarity sees the relevant practice of mutual aid in the marsialap ari tradition of the Angkola-Mandailing community. This practice reflects the values of togetherness, solidarity, and shared trust that are the basis of social solidarity. The results of the study can be concluded that the marsialap ari tradition in the Angkola-Mandailing community is a clear example of strong mutual assistance, where residents help each other in agricultural work voluntarily. This tradition builds a sense of community, cooperation, and joy in carrying out agricultural duties. Although threatened by individualistic values, modern agricultural technology, and shifting values of society, marsialap ari remains important as a mirror of social values that build character, mutual trust, and togetherness in society.

Abstract

Character education is an important process in forming character and morals. In the family context, character education plays a major role because the family is the first role model for children in developing potential and building character. This research aims to explore how to educate personal and family character and describe the aspects that need to be considered in family character education in order to achieve harmony in the household. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with observation methods, semi-structured interviews and documentation. Data collection was carried out through direct experience of researchers at the Farishul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School. The results of the research show that the process of character formation in the family can start with the habit of positive attitudes and providing good role models for children. The findings also indicate that integration between the roles of children, parents and the environment is very necessary to ensure the success of character education in the family.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan aspek penting dalam pendidikan, khususnya bagi generasi muda Muslim. Nilai-nilai Islam menawarkan landasan yang kuat untuk membentuk karakter yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji metode pembelajaran berbasis nilai-nilai Islam yang dapat diterapkan dalam pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode tinjauan literatur. Data dikumpulkan dari berbagai sumber, seperti jurnal ilmiah, buku, dan artikel online yang relevan dengan topik penelitian. Data kemudian dianalisis secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi metode pembelajaran yang efektif dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islam dengan pendidikan karakter. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat beragam metode pembelajaran berbasis nilai-nilai Islam yang dapat diimplementasikan dalam pendidikan karakter. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk menguji efektivitas metode-metode tersebut dalam berbagai konteks pendidikan

Abstract

PT Tirta Sriwijaya Maju (TSM) is a clean water provider company operating in Palembang City. The TSM Water Treatment Plant (WTP) processes surface water from the Musi River with a total capacity of 230 liters/second. However, the TSM WTP is facing a shortage of clean water supply due to an increase in demand from new customers. This has led to a decrease in the duration of water flow to customers' homes. This problem is caused by 5% of the byproducts being sludge and wastewater, as well as the filter washing process that causes production to stop for 30 minutes three times a day. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the use of a combination of aluminum sulfate and poly aluminum chloride coagulants to reuse the sludge and minimize filter washing, in order to improve water treatment performance at the TSM WTP. The analysis results show that the alum and PAC dose ratio of 3:1 and 4:1 produced the highest turbidity reduction, which are 85.1% and 91.3%, as well as good floc formation. Thus, the use of this coagulant combination can be a solution to increase the productivity of the TSM WTP in providing sustainable clean water supply.

Abstract

In the age of rapidly advancing information technology, it is crucial to have a thorough understanding of the nature of information to tackle the challenges posed by digital transformation. This article provides a comprehensive conceptual overview of the interpretation of the nature of information and its implications in the current context of information technology. This research explores the essence and fundamental nature of information by integrating views from various disciplines, such as philosophy, epistemology, and information technology. The focus of this research is on all forms of data, messages, and knowledge that are formed, exchanged, and processed in the context of information technology. This research aims to provide a better understanding of how information affects individuals, organizations, and society as a whole by examining aspects such as its existence, structure, value, and impact. The limitations of this study are focused on understanding the nature of information in the context of information technology and its implications for information practices and policies. The study employs a descriptive-analytical approach that combines literature analysis and conceptualisation to develop a comprehensive framework. The data sources used include scientific articles, books, and other related theoretical sources in the fields of philosophy, epistemology, and information technology. Through this in-depth analysis, the article offers insight into how a better understanding of information's nature can shape more effective information practices and policies in the face of challenges and opportunities presented by the digital revolution

Abstract

This study aims to provide recommendations for folklore branding strategies for the Ngarai Sianok tourist destination in Bukittinggi as an effort to restore tourism in Bukttinggi. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by conducting a literature review of folklore and data relating to the Ngarai Sianok tourist destination as the primary data. Supporting data is in the form of data obtained from scientific articles and popular articles, as well as interviews with relevant subjects, such as the Tourism Office, Tour and Travel Agents, and tour guides. Data analysis uses the storynomics theory by Robert Mcee and Thomas Gerace by focusing on stories as a strategy to improve the economy, in this case through tourist destinations. The results of this study are that folklore has a positive influence to be developed as a branding strategy for Ngarai Sianok tourist destinations. Folklore can become narratives of tour guides and narratives of tourism promotion at this destination. In addition, folklore can be an inspiration for making souvenirs that can improve the community's creative economy around tourist destinations. Utilizing folklore can enhance the reputation of the Ngarai Sianok and become a medium for character education in a fun way. The dissemination of the Legend of Ngarai Sianok can also be an effort to preserve the folklore of Bukittinggi and support the realization of Indonesian tourism based on local wisdom.

Abstract

This article discusses the history of railways as transportation support for the plantation industry in East Sumatra in the period 1881-1940. The history of railways in East Sumatra can not be separated from the history of Deli tobacco plantations since the beginning of the arrival of Nienhuys, which became the early era of Deli Maatschappij. Deli Maatschappij was the one who built the entire railroad network and all its facilities along the East Sumatra plantation belt area since the 19th century through its subsidiary named Deli Spoorweg Maatschappij (DSM). The method used is the historical method. A literature study conducted is to reconstruct the history of railways in East Sumatra collected from a number of historiographies. The results found that DSM has built a 553,223 km rail network along the plantation area of the east coast of Sumatra. The progress achieved by Deli Maatschappij and DSM can be said as a benchmark for the success of the plantation industry in East Sumatra. The existence of the plantation industry, the presence of private entrepreneurs, and the construction of the railroad network later greatly influenced the development of the city of Medan as a new business center with all the modern urban facilities that complement it.Keywords: transportation history, railways, Deli Spoorweg Maatschappij, East Sumatra plantations.

Abstract

In recent years, the entrepreneurial landscape has witnessed a surge in the establishment of startups. While these ventures bring innovation and economic growth, they also face significant ethical challenges. This study explores the complexities of maintaining ethical business practices within startups. Utilizing a normative legal research method, the research draws on various previous studies and statutory laws in Indonesia to analyze how ethical considerations are integrated into business operations. The findings reveal that while many startups strive to adhere to ethical standards, they often encounter dilemmas due to limited resources, competitive pressures, and the evolving regulatory environment. This paper aims to provide insights into the importance of ethical business practices and offers recommendations for startups to navigate these challenges effectively.
