Abstract

Background: Female-headed households in marginalized communities face complex challenges in understanding Islamic law and managing family economics, impacting household resilience and welfare. Purpose of the Study: This community service aims to enhance Islamic legal literacy and strengthen sharia-based economic capacity through local asset optimization. Methods: Using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, this participatory action research involved field observation, interviews, and FGDs with 30 PEKKA in Wedi Village, Bojonegoro. Results: The program successfully identified three key asset clusters: social (pengajian groups), cultural (Islamic values), and economic (culinary, sewing, farming skills). ABCD strategy activated these assets, leading to the formation of the “Srikandi Salak” business group and multidimensional transformation.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to explore the strategic role of Tengger women in early conflict detection within religious dynamics in Tosari District, Pasuruan, and to examine how their practices can be understood through the framework of inclusive Islamic peace education. Design/methodology/approach: This research employs a qualitative approach with Miles and Huberman’s interactive analysis model. Data were collected through three months of participatory observation, in-depth interviews with 35 key informants, and focus group discussions (FGDs) with local women's forums, traditional leaders, and religious figures. Research limitations/implications: The study is limited to the Tengger community in Tosari District, East Java. However, the findings provide valuable insights into the development of culturally sensitive and gender-responsive peace education models for multicultural societies and offer practical implications for inclusive Islamic education. Findings: The results reveal how Tengger women activate local wisdom values such as sayan (mutual cooperation) and setuhu (commitment to harmony) as social vigilance mechanisms. Their unique position in traditional social structures enables them to develop effective early warning systems through informal networks and community activities. The study further constructs a critical dialogue between these indigenous practices and Islamic educational principles such as ta'awun (cooperation), ukhuwah (brotherhood), and rahmatan lil 'alamin (mercy to all creation). Originality/value: This research contributes to peace education literature by documenting an organic, community-based model of peace education developed and practiced by indigenous women. It offers a transformative framework for Islamic peace education that integrates cultural wisdom, gender responsiveness, and religious values, providing an alternative model for educational institutions in multicultural contexts

Abstract

Abstract

Islamic parenting faces significant challenges in the modern context, especially with the influence of technology that can divert children's attention from religious practices. This study aims to explore the influence of Islamic parenting and parental religious understanding on the spiritual intelligence of children in Muslim families in Metro City. The method used is quantitative, with the population being Muslim parents who have children aged 5-9 years. The sampling technique used is proportional stratified random sampling, with a total sample of 100 individuals. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that Islamic parenting has a significant effect on children's spiritual intelligence. This study also found that parents' religious understanding significantly contributes to the development of children's spiritual intelligence. Regression analysis results indicate that Islamic parenting and religious understanding together positively influence children's spiritual intelligence, with the regression equation ȳ = 23.576 + 0.223X1 + 0.452X2.
