Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between teachers and school conditions on school test scores. Correspondence and cluster analysis are the analytical methods used. For school conditions to be classified into 3 clusters, 4 clusters, and 5 clusters, cluster analysis is used. The variable is tested using the G test to determine the affect on school test scores. This study resulted in a variable that has an impact on school test scores, school conditions with a p-value < α, so a correspondence analysis plot was formed to show the correlation between school conditions and school test scores. Good school conditions will result in good school test scores. Meanwhile, a reasonably good school conditions will result in fairly good school test scores. The correlation of school test scores with teachers shows that good school test scores are resulted by teachers with very good quality. Fairly good school test scores are resulted by good and fairly good teachers. Meanwhile, poor school test scores are resulted by teachers with poor quality. Keywords: School test scores, teacher, school conditions, correspondence analysis, and cluster analysis.

Abstract

Students still consider mathematics learning in school difficult. One of the factors causing this difficulty is because mathematics material is dominated by abstract material. The purpose of this research is: to determine the completeness of student learning outcomes through the application of the Problem Based Instruction Model. The selection of a learning model plays a large enough role to achieve educational goals. For that, we need a learning model that is able to increase student interest, motivation and learning outcomes. One learning model that can be used is Problem Based Instruction which emphasizes student activity. Problems in the learning process are directed to those related to everyday life so that students can immediately understand them. The population in this study were all students of class VIII totaling 50 students. The sample in this study were students of class VIII-2 SMP Negeri 14 Banda Aceh, as many as 25 students. This study used a Quasi-experimental approach with a one-shot case study design with quantitative research. Data collection was carried out using test instruments. The data processing technique is to use the t-test. The results showed that student learning outcomes in the material tangent to the inner and outer partnership of two circles of class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Banda Aceh achieved student learning completeness according to the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) set by SMP Negeri 14 Banda Aceh.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of teaching motivation and school facilities on the professional competence of high school mathematics teachers because teaching motivation is something important to consider in reviewing the performance of a teacher, as well as facilities owned by schools, completeness of facilities at schools will optimize the learning process in class. In reviewing the effect of teaching motivation and school facilities on professional competence, an inferential analysis using multiple regression. This research type is a survey with a population all of high school mathematics teachers in Pekanbaru City. Questionnaires for teaching motivation and school facilities, as well as tests in the form of multiple choice and non-test in the form of questionnaires to measure professional competence were instruments in this study. The data for this study obtained from 33 high school mathematics teachers in Pekanbaru City, 33 fellow teachers, and 909 high school students in Pekanbaru City. The result show that teaching motivation affects the professional competence of teachers and school facilities do not affect professional competence.

Abstract

Menghadapi era globalisasi di abad 21  mahasiswa harus memiliki beberapa soft skill yang akan mereka implementasikan kedalam dunia kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis soft skill apa saja yang dibutuhkan oleh mahasiswa di abad 21. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei dengan menggunakan desain cross sectional survei. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 105 mahasiswa  yang terdiri dari 35 mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Kimia, 30 mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Fisika, dan 40 mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Matematika. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar kuesioner. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 10 soft skill teratas yaitu  1) literasi komunikasi; 2) pemecahan masalah; 3) kerja tim;  4)  bertanggung jawab dan akuntabilitas; 5) etika profesional; 6) berpikir kritis dan  logis; 7) kreativitas dan inovasi; 8) adaptasi ; 9) belajar seumur hidup; dan 10) kepemimpinan.

Abstract

Mathematics learning can have an impact on the development of one's mindset in the learning environment. This process is obtained through teacher innovation which provides learning with various methods and approaches that are in line with what will be taught. Inductive-deductive is an approach that can help students' creative thinking processes and increase learning motivation. For this reason, this study wanted to see how effective and influential this approach is on the ability to think creatively and motivation to learn. The method used is a significant test using one sample t-test and one paired sample t-test. The results obtained are t-count values of 2.09 and 10.66 for the inductive-deductive class and -0.848 and -0.94 for the conventional class where the t-table value is 1.684. Whereas to see the effect of the approach obtained values of 6.149 and 6.344 with a t-table of 1.960. The value that is greater than the t-table states that the class is effective and has influence, so it can be concluded that the inductive-deductive approach is effective for critical thinking skills and learning motivation, while conventional classes are not used effectively. The inductive-deductive approach also influences students' creative thinking abilities and learning motivation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the relationship between basic literacy activities and reading interest of fifth grade students at SD 53 Banda Aceh. It is known that the reading interest of class V students at SD Negeri 53 Banda Aceh is good. These results can be seen from the questionnaires answered by students. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach to the type of correlation or correlational research, using questionnaire data collection techniques and documentation, for the subject of 20 students of class V SD 53 Banda Aceh. The results of the study by calculating the reading interest questionnaire of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 53 Banda Aceh were classified as high, students could read well and fluently according to their abilities. Meanwhile, based on the results of the research correlation test, it was found that the correlation coefficient (r) related to literacy activities and students' reading interest was 0.50. This shows that between variable X (basic literacy) and variable Y (reading interest) has a moderate and sufficient correlation. Thus it can be seen that there is a correlation between variables X and Y. X (basic literacy) and variable Y (reading interest). The t-count value > t table or 0.79 > 1.72913 then the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Thus the alternative hypothesis is there is a significant correlation between basic literacy and the interest of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 53 Banda Aceh

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang mendukung muatan budaya lokal perlu diintegrasikan dengan media pembelajaran yang bersesuaian dengan minat siswa, sehingga pengembangan media pembelajaran terintegrasi dengan aplikasi android menjadi alternatif karena bersesuaian dengan minat siswa dan memudahkan untuk belajar setiap saat dimanapun berada. Namun, kelayakannya sebelum dilakukan ujicoba dalam pembelajaran haruslah melewati tahapan penilaian dari para ahli. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui kevalidan media komik berbasis android sebagai media pembelajaran materi peluang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Devolopment (R&D) berdasarkan modifikasi yang dikembangkan dari prosedur penelitian. Penelitian ini dikembangkan berdasarkan model ADDIE. Namun, pada penelitian ini tahapan penelitian hanya dibatasi sampai tahap pengembangan, yakni validasi oleh para ahli. Kevalidan media komik dinilai melalu angket yang diberikan kepada 2 orang ahli materi dan 2 orang ahli media. Berdasarkan angket yang diberikan diperoleh presentase penilaian validasi oleh ahli media 1 dan ahli media 2 masing-masing sebesar  95,56% dan 97,05%. Dengan demikian media komik dikategorikan “sangat valid” oleh ahli media.. Sedangkan penilaian validasi ahli materi 1 dan ahli materi 2 diperoleh persentase masing-masing sebesar 96,21% dan 96,96% atau kategori “sangat valid”. Berdasarkan penilaian para ahli  disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis android terintegrasi mathematic comic application bermuatan etnomatematika layak untuk diujicobakan.

Abstract

The important need for the development of technology in education requires teachers to be able to use technology proficiently so as to provide effective and innovative learning to students in the classroom. the implementation of observations and interviews conducted by the service team found that not all teachers of SMAN 1 Dewantara used information technology in the learning process. Some teachers have implemented IT-based learning in the classroom but are not maximized in their delivery in class. Based on these problems, the service team conducted IT-based learning application training for teachers of SMAN 1 Dewantara. The training aims to increase teachers' knowledge in the field of technology and can be a reference for teachers in applying active, creative and innovative and fun learning methods in the classroom. The training method is done by inquiry or direct practice. The result of this service activity is that teachers are able to use IT-based learning and can apply it in the teaching and learning process in class. The activities carried out received positive results from the school and hoped that activities like this could be carried out again at a later time.

Abstract

Hasil observasi awal diperoleh bahwa siswa selama ini hanya dilatih dengan soal tertutup dan juga belum terbiasa menemukan  cara lain dalam menyelesaikan persoalan yang sedang dipelajarinya sehingga mengakibatkan siswa kurang mampu dalam memecahkan masalah yang menuntut siswa untuk berpikir kreatif. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut maka peneliti menggunakan pembelajaran pendekatan Open Ended. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pendekatan Open Ended berbantuan Video Animasi terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi experimental dan rancangan penelitian the nonequivalent posttest-only control grup design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII-2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diproleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu tes akhir (post-test). Analisis data yang dilakukan menggunakan uji-t sampel bebas karena data yang diperoleh berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Data diolah menggunakan software SPSS 26 dengan kriteria pengujiannya tolak  jika nilai sig. . Dari hasil uji-t diperoleh hasil signifikan 2-tailedsehingga  ditolak dan  diterima. Berdasarkan analisis tersebut disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan Open Ended berbantuan Video Animasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan produk berupa handout berbasis pendekatan science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) dan soal kemampuan literasi numerasi menggunakan canva yang valid, praktis dan efektif melalui model pengembangan 4D, yaitu: 1) define, 2) design, 3) development dan 4) disseminate. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa data uji ahli media dan ahli materi, data angket respon peserta didik, data hasil wawancara bersama guru matematika serta data hasil jawaban peserta didik terhadap soal tes. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sekolah SMP Swasta Bangun Mulia, P. Brandan. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara bersama salah satu guru matematika, diperoleh informasi mengenai kurangnya penggunaan sumber belajar lain selain buku paket dan internet, kurang terhubungnya pembelajaran dalam kehidupan sehari-hari serta kurangnya pemberian soal dengan konteks nyata. Data hasil rata-rata skor uji validasi oleh 2 dosen ahli media 98% dengan kriteria sangat valid dan hasil rata-rata skor validasi ahli materi 87% dengan kriteria valid. Kepraktisan diperoleh melalui hasil respon peserta didik sebesar 90% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Data hasil ketuntasan peserta didik secara klasikal sebesar 79,4% dengan kriteria cukup efektif. Disimpulkan bahwa handout berbasis pendekatan STEAM dan soal kemampuan literasi numerasi menggunakan Canva valid, sangat praktis dan cukup efektif.
