Abstract

This article describes the implementation of teachers’ competence in designing authentic assessments for active learning and identifies the inhibiting factors that affect teachers in designing these assessments for natural science learning subjects. The research employed a descriptive method with science teachers at SMPN 2 Pontianak as the subjects. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires, and lesson plans designed by the teachers were analyzed. The interview guides and lesson plan review instruments were validated beforehand using the Gregory test. The results indicate that science teachers’ competence in designing authentic assessments was still inadequate across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. This was primarily due to the misalignment of basic competencies with assessment indicators and the fact that most teachers did not design assessment rubrics. Additional obstacles included managing simultaneous assessment activities with large class sizes, limiting teachers’ ability to fully implement authentic assessments. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to enhance their skills in designing assessment instruments, implementing authentic assessments, and managing learning time effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the PeT-Efig interactive multimedia in improving students’ learning outcomes compared to the use of a textbook. The effectiveness was analyzed by comparing the posttest scores of both groups using an independent t-test. The results showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) value was < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. Students who learned using PeT-Efig achieved higher learning outcomes, demonstrating that the media provided a positive impact on conceptual understanding. The effect size calculation produced a Cohen’s d value of 1.3, categorized as a large effect, indicating that the influence of PeT-Efig is very strong and practically meaningful. Overall, this study concludes that the PeT-Efig interactive multimedia is effective as a learning medium because it enhances learning engagement, strengthens information retention, and significantly improves students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop local culture-based teaching materials for Natural and Social Science (IPAS) on the topic of States of Matter and Their Changes that were feasible for use in Merdeka Curriculum learning in Grade IV at SD Negeri 10 Sungai Kakap. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consisted of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation; however, the study was limited to the development stage. The research subjects consisted of three expert validators and 30 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 10 Sungai Kakap. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires. The validation results indicated that the developed teaching materials demonstrated a very high level of validity, with validation scores of 89.58% for the design aspect, 92.50% for the language aspect, and 88.46% for the content aspect, all of which fell into the very valid category. The practicality test results showed a score of 85.17% in the small-group trial and 88.06% in the large-group trial, both of which were categorized as very practical. Therefore, the local culture-based teaching materials were considered feasible and practical for use in IPAS learning for Grade IV elementary school students.

Abstract

Ionic matter is an abstract material that is included in the submicroscopic level. Augmented reality is a media that can be used to overcome these problems. This research aims to identify the level of validity and show the response of educators and students to video tutorials on making augmented reality-based learning media on ion material. The level of product validity is based on the results of validation tests by experts, while the teacher's response is from the results of the teacher's response test questionnaire on chemistry and junior high school chemistry subjects. Student responses from chemistry education students at FKIP Tanjungpura University class of 2020. The method used is development using a design thinking approach. The research results show that the average percentage results in terms of media, material and language validity is 95.2%, so it can be categorized as very valid. Then, the teacher's response obtained an average percentage result of 89.9% and the student response was 88.85%. Thus, it is concluded that the resulting product received a very good response from educators and students.
