Abstract

Waqf holds a strategic position within the Islamic economic system due to its ability to integrate spiritual values with socio-economic functions. This study aims to examine the implementation of the thematic (maudhu’i) approach in understanding hadiths related to waqf and to evaluate their relevance in strengthening contemporary Islamic economics. This research employs a qualitative method based on a literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach. Primary data were derived from hadiths found in major collections, analyzed through thematic classification, validation of chains of narration (sanad) and content (matan), and critical analysis. The findings indicate that waqf-related hadiths can be categorized into several key themes, including waqf jurisprudence, social benefits, and productive waqf. The validity of the hadiths is supported through takhrij and sanad-matan criticism, while their correlation with Islamic economic principles is reflected in social justice, wealth redistribution, and community empowerment. Innovations such as cash waqf, waqf sukuk, and Islamic fintech have expanded the scope of waqf implementation in sustainable economic development. Government bodies and financial institutions play a strategic role in strengthening the waqf ecosystem through supportive regulations and public literacy. This study concludes that integrating hadith scholarship and Islamic economics through the thematic approach makes a significant contribution to advancing both the knowledge and practice of waqf in the contemporary era.

Abstract

Honesty is a fundamental value in Islamic teachings that is closely related to the formation of individual morality and social order. One hadith that explicitly emphasizes the importance of honesty is the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which states that honesty leads to goodness and goodness leads to Paradise. This study aims to examine the hadith on honesty through the approach of takhrij al-?adith and philosophical analysis in order to determine its authenticity, textual variations, and the ethical implications of its meaning in the social life of Muslims. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research design. Primary data sources consist of authoritative hadith collections such as ?a?i? al-Bukhari, ?a?i? Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan al-Tirmidhi, and Musnad A?mad, supported by secondary sources including scholarly books and academic journal articles. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of hadith tracing (takhrij), sanad and matn criticism, itibar of transmission chains, as well as philosophical and contextual analysis. The findings indicate that the hadith stating that “honesty leads to goodness” has a continuous chain of transmission, reliable narrators (thiqah), and a text that does not contradict the Qur’an or sound reasoning, thus classifying it as an authentic hadith. Philosophically, this hadith affirms that honesty serves as a foundational principle for moral integrity, noble character development, and social harmony, while dishonesty constitutes a source of moral and social corruption. Therefore, the internalization of honesty as taught in the hadith remains highly relevant in addressing contemporary moral challenges.

Abstract

The rise of religious and societal extremism deviates from Islamic precepts of moderation and balance. However, educational institutions often fail to teach wasathiyah (religious moderation), especially those derived from the Prophet's Hadith, the second source of Islamic law. Such behavior raises concerns about a severely or unlimitedly liberal generation. This study intends to completely identify the Prophet's Hadith values of wasathiyah, examine their significance to current education, and develop a model for applying these values in the curriculum and educational activities. This study is qualitative and library based. Thematic (maudu'i) and content analysis were used to assess authentic Hadiths that clearly or implicitly include wasathiyah values. The analysis results were integrated to create an education idea. The Prophet's Hadith contained wasathiyah values, including balance (tawazun), forbearance (tasamuh), fairness ('adalah), contemplation (shura), and ease (taysir). These values can be implemented in education through the integration of religious and general subjects, a dialogical and inclusive school culture, and wasathiyah teacher training. This study, from the Prophet's Hadith, provides a theoretical basis for wasathiyah in Hadith and Islamic education. Practically, this study can help educational officials, school principals, and instructors construct curricula and learning methodologies to produce moderate, tolerant, and balanced kids in thinking and behavior.

Abstract

: Incomplete immunization can cause morbidity and death due to diseases that should be prevented by immunization (PD3I). This study explores the correlation between maternal health literacy and compliance with basic immunization for children aged 0-11 months in Bontomarannu Community Health Center, Gowa Regency. This study design used a retrospective cross-sectional study for quantitative analysis with a total sample of 87 mothers. Research data was obtained from the results of filling out the HLS–EU–Q16 questionnaire and secondary data related to the completeness of child immunization. Research data was analyzed using the Chi Square test with the help of the SPSS program. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant relationship between health literacy and maternal compliance in providing basic immunizations to children (p-value = 0.000). Mothers with adequate health literacy tend to have high compliance in providing children with basic immunizations. The results of the analysis showed that of the 87 mothers studied, the majority of mothers with inadequate health literacy tended to be incomplete in providing basic immunizations to their children, while of all mothers with adequate health literacy, all provided complete basic immunizations. In conclusion, addressing health literacy is crucial for effective immunization programs.

Abstract

This study investigates how linguistic analysis influences Islamic legal construction in determining the beginning of Hijri months, particularly when the crescent is not visible. It focuses on three variant hadith formulations, fa in gumma, fi in gummiya, and fa in gubbiya; imperative word ṣūmū and afṭirū based on ru’yah; and the paired imperatives faqdurū lah and fa akmilū. The research employs a qualitative design using semantic and pragmatic analysis, supported by lexical, morpho-syntactic examination and Uṣūl al-Fiqh reasoning. Primary data are drawn from authoritative hadith compilations, while supporting evidence is taken from classical Arabic lexica and contemporary astronomical discussions. The findings show that ru’yah is polysemous and cannot be restricted to sensory sight alone; it also denotes epistemic certainty. The wording gumma/gummiya indicates external obscuration and corresponds to faqdurū, which semantically implies precise measurement, thus providing linguistic support for astronomical calculation (ḥisāb). In contrast, gubbiya reflects informational limitation and reinforces istikmāl as an operational legal mechanism. This study argues that hisab and istikmāl are not mutually exclusive but complementary, and they may be operationalized through imkān al-ru’yah computation with tolerance for local, regional, or global maṭla’. These results offer a linguistic basis for integrating fiqh and astronomy in authoritative lunar-month determination.
