Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase of cement volume and the quality of fish spermatozoa betok (Anabas testudineus Bloch) by using ovaprim and hCG stimuli for artificial spawning in the conservation of marine resources. The treatment used was P1 = ovaprim injection with dose 0.4 ml / kg body weight, P2 = ovaprim injection with dose 0.6 ml / kg body weight, P3 = injection of hCG with dose 400 IU / kg body weight, P4 = injection hCG with dose of 800 IU / kg body weight and P5 = 1 ml of physiological 0.65% / kg body weight (as control). The parameters measured were the volume of cement, spermatozoa concentration, spermatozoa motility and viability of spermatozoa. The results showed that the best treatment was 0.6 ml ovaprim / kg body weight injection, 0.9 ml of cement volume, spermatozoa concentration of 1250 x 109 cells / ml, spermatozoa viability of 88.90% and spermatozoa motility of 65.40%.

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research was to determine the effect of stocking density and kind of food on growth and survival rate of north african catfishlarvae reared with a water recirculation system. This research was conducted from March-April 2019 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty Riau University. The Method used was a Factorial Completely RandomizedDesign with two factors. The first was stocking density with three levels, namely 10 larvae/L (T10), 20 larvae/L (T20) and 30 larvae/L (T30). While the second factor waskind of feed with two levels namely Tubifex worm and Pasta feed. The larvae were reared in 10 L-glass aquarium with a water recirculating system for 40 days. The result showed that stocking density and kind of feedgave asignificant effect in absolute weight, absolute length, specific growth rate and survival rateof north african catfishlarvae reared in 40 day. The larvae stocked at density of 10 larvae/L and fed on Tubifex worm were significanthythe highest in absolute weight (2,40 gr), absolute length (7,76 cm), spesific growth rate (14,93 %/day) and survival rate (96,00 %). The water quality parameters during research were rangedtemperature26,2-26,8°C, pH 5,2-6,1and dissolved oxygen 3,5-5,2 mg/l. Keywords : Stocking denstity, Kind of feed,North african catfishlarvae

Abstract

ABSTRACT                          This research aimed to determine the effect of substitusion of Tubifex sp. with artificial food on growth and survival rate of Lele Mutiara larvae. This research was conducted from November 2018 - January 2019 at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University. The method used is an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments were P1 (Tubifex sp. 40 days), P2 (Artificial Food 40 days), P3 (Tubifex sp. 30 days + Artificial Food 10 days), P4 (Tubifex sp. 20 days + Artificial Food 20 days), and P5 (Tubifex sp. 10 days + Artificial Food 30 days). The subjects used in this research were 4 day old Lele Mutiara larvae. The research process was conducted by raising Lele Mutiara larvae in an aquarium containing 15 liters of water with a stocking density of 2 fish/liter for 40 days. Frequency of feeding that conducted was four times a day as much as 50% of the weight of biomass. The result showed that P3 (Tubifex sp. 30 days + Artificial Food 10 days) was the highest growth (2,20 g, 6,27 cm, and 16,79%/day), the best feed efficiency was 58,23%, and the highest survival rate was 92,22%. Keywords :Lele Mutiara Larvae;Tubifex sp., Artificial Food,Survival Rate

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of hCG combination with ovaprim to ovulation and egg hatchability Mali fish (Labeobarbus festivus, Heckel 1843) and to know of hCG with ovaprim best treatment to stimulate ovulation and hatching rate eggs ofSignal Barb(Labeobarbus festivus, Heckel 1843). This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments where each treatment was made in three replications. Dose of hormones used are treatment 1: hCG 0 IU / kg + ovaprim 0,5ml / kg of body weight (control), treatment 2: hCG 350 IU / kg + ovaprim 0,5ml / kg of body weight, treatment 3: hCG 450 IU / kg + ovaprim 0,5ml / kg of body weight, treatment 4: hCG 550 IU / kg + ovaprim 0,5ml / kg of body weight. The results showed that the best treatment was found in P4 (hCG 550 IU / kg + Ovaprim 0.5 ml / kg)produce latency time for 5 hours 18 minutes, the number of eggs stripping as many as 299 eggs / grbroodstock, egg diameter of 0.926 mm, egg maturity of 88.8%, ovisomatic index value of 15.73%, fertilization rate 76.93%,hatching rate 80.23%, and survival rate (SR5) amounted to 80.25%.Results of water quality measurements during the study is 27-31oC temperature and pH 5-7.Keywords:  Signal barb, hCG, ovaprim, latency time, diameter eggs, egg maturity,    fertilization rate, hatching rate, survival rate

Abstract

This study was conducted from May 16 until July 4 2016 in the fish hatchery and breeding laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Sciences Faculty of Riau University. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of light (dark, light, sunlight) and the type of feed (Tubifex sp and pellet) on colour quality, growth and survival rate Platy fish (Xiphophorus helleri). Experimental method used in this study was completely randomized design with factorial 3 x 2 x 3. The first factor was light consist of dark light, bulb light and sun, while the second factor was type food (Tubifex sp. feed and TAKARI pellet) with three replications. The fish was reared in 3 L aquarium those reared with dark and bulb light were dow inside and that with sun light was dow outside. The result showed that the best treatment from that all is to giving sunlight and feed the platy with Tubifex sp and the sunlight given TAKARI Pellet feed can improve the colour quality till level 30 of sunlight level. Treatment with feed Tubifex sp provide the absolute best length of 2.40 cm and the fish weights from the absolute best in sun light treatments with feed Tubifex sp can increase to 0.34 g. The Best survival rate in treatment without light / dark, sunlight, lamplight with feed Tubifex sp and sunlight, lamplight with Pellet feed TAKARI of 94.44%. and for the Results of water quality measurements: temperature ranging from 26.1 to 31.3 ° C, pH range between 6.6 to 7.3 and DO ranged from 4.2 to 6.3 ppm.Key word: the colour quality of fish, Xiphophorus helleri, Growth, Survival Rate

Abstract

ABSTRACT          The study was conducted on 18-30 March 2018, at the Fish Hatchery of Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatera. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of thyroxine hormone immersion doses on egg hatching rate, larvae growth and survival rate of larvae (Puntiusjavanicus Blkr). The research method was experimental design. the dose of thyroxine hormone solution used was P1 (0 mg / L), P2 (0.05 mg / L), P3 (0.10 mg / L) and P4 (0.15 mg / L) for 24 hours. The results showed that the dose of thyroxine hormone gave a very real effect to egg hatching rate (83,3%) and survival rate (86,67%) of larvae, but did not give significant effect to growth and larvae abnormalitas. The best dose of thyroxine hormone to increase egg hatchability and of larvae growth was 0.15 mg / L and 0.10 mg / L. The water quality parameters during the study were temperature 26-28oC, pH 6.9-7.9; DO 5,4-5, ppm..Keywords:Hatching rate,Thyroxine, Growth, ,larvae.
