Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women is a public health problem that remains high in Indonesia and impacts maternal health and fetal development. This study aims to determine the prevalence of anemia and risk factors in pregnant women at the Saritani Community Health Center, Boalemo. The study used a cross-sectional design on 28 pregnant women selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire and hemoglobin level examination (HemoCue). Descriptive and bivariate analyses using the Chi-Square test were performed, with p < 0.05 as the significance limit. The results showed a prevalence of anemia of 42.9 % . Factors significantly associated with anemia included education level (p = 0.041), adherence to Fe tablet consumption (p = 0.022), parity (p = 0.037), and pregnancy spacing (p = 0.049). Mothers with low education, non-adherence to Fe tablet consumption, high parity, or pregnancy spacing <2 years had a higher risk of developing anemia. Age and diet did not show a significant association.

Abstract

Toddlers are a critical age group 0–59 months who require optimal nutritional intake to support physical and cognitive growth and development. The quality of toddler feeding patterns is influenced by family socioeconomic factors, including income, education, and parental occupation. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family socioeconomic status and toddler feeding patterns in the working area of the Saritani Community Health Center, Boalemo Regency. This study used an observational design with a cross-sectional approach and involved 40 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, interviews, observations, and secondary data from the Community Health Center, then analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of p < 0.05 . Results: Most families have middle (45%) and low (40%) socioeconomic status. Good feeding patterns are received by 55% of toddlers, while 45% have inadequate feeding patterns. The analysis shows a significant relationship between family socioeconomic status and toddler feeding patterns (p = 0.043). Families with low incomes and limited maternal education tend to provide food with less than optimal variety and nutritional content. Conclusion: Family socioeconomic status has a significant influence on toddler feeding patterns in Saritani.

Abstract

Abstract

Adolescents are vulnerable to mental health disorders resulting from excessive smartphone use, which can trigger stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as affect behavior and psychological well-being. This study examined the effectiveness of a combination of murottal Al-Qur’an therapy and meditation on the mental health of adolescents with smartphone addiction using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group approach. The study was conducted at MTS Al-Ma’arif Singosari from May to July 2025. The sample consisted of two groups intervention and control each comprising 15 respondents selected purposively. The intervention was administered for four weeks, and levels of depression, anxiety, and stress were measured before and after the intervention using the DASS-21 questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test, which revealed a significant decrease in all three variables in the intervention group (p < 0.05), while the control group showed only minor changes. These findings indicate that the combination of murottal Al-Qur’an and meditation is effective in reducing mental health disorders among adolescents with smartphone addiction and can be considered a simple and beneficial non-pharmacological method to improve mental health in school settings.

Abstract

Pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period are vulnerable phases for mothers, so readiness in recognizing danger signs of labor is crucial for the safety of the mother and fetus. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of health education in improving pregnant women's knowledge regarding danger signs of labor in the third trimester. The study used a quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 30 pregnant women in the third trimester who were selected purposively. The health education intervention was provided through group counseling with visual media and guided discussions. Knowledge measurements were conducted before (pretest) and one week after the intervention (posttest) using a valid and reliable structured questionnaire. The results showed a significant increase in maternal knowledge, with the average score increasing from 48.3 to 72.7. The proportion of mothers with good knowledge increased from 6.7 % to 56.7%. In addition, there was a significant positive relationship between the level of posttest knowledge and maternal compliance with childbirth recommendations (p = 0.028). This study confirms that structured, interactive, and family-involved health education effectively improves pregnant women's understanding and behavior in facing the risks of childbirth, thus potentially reducing childbirth complications and supporting the safety of the mother and fetus.

Abstract

Abstract

The first trimester of pregnancy is a crucial phase characterized by various physiological and psychological changes that can cause complaints in pregnant women. Adequate knowledge about these changes is essential for mothers to recognize pregnancy problems and take appropriate action. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of antenatal counseling on pregnant women's knowledge in dealing with first trimester pregnancy problems at Manembo-nembo Hospital, Bitung City. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach on 28 respondents selected through total sampling. The intervention was structured antenatal counseling that covered physiological changes, common complaints, danger signs, and their management. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed an increase in the average knowledge score from 42.18 to 61.75, with a p-value = 0.000. The high knowledge category increased from 14.3 % to 64.3%, while the low knowledge category decreased from 50% to 7.1%. These findings indicate that antenatal counseling is effective in increasing pregnant women's knowledge about first-trimester pregnancy issues, thereby supporting the readiness and health of both mother and fetus from the beginning of pregnancy.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a crucial period that requires special attention to maternal nutritional status, including the prevention of anemia through the consumption of Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS). Compliance with MMS consumption remains a challenge due to physical, psychological, and social factors. This study aims to analyze the role of Posyandu cadres as peer support in improving compliance with MMS consumption and preventing anemia in pregnant women in the Bongo II Community Health Center, Boalemo Regency. The study used a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design with a total sample of 20 pregnant women. Peer support interventions in the form of education, motivation, reminders, and routine monitoring were carried out for 4 weeks. Data were collected through questionnaires, MMS consumption records, and hemoglobin level examinations, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and paired t-test. The results showed a significant increase in the mean score of MMS consumption compliance from 61.2 to 80.5 (p = 0.002) and the mean hemoglobin level from 10.7 g/dL to 11.4 g/dL (p = 0.014). This finding confirms the effectiveness of peer support by Posyandu cadres in increasing compliance with MMS consumption and improving anemia status.
